• Where did you first start roleplaying?
  On BYOND game called Dungeon Master, through that was pretty soft RP and not even mandatory, it was...a confusing experience. I didn't really know what was happening. Then some animay games on byond, SS13 (I actualy ended up on Baystation, so it's not as incredibly shit as you might think.) and then came the Sigroganas where I finaly understood the concept and dos and don'ts of RP. (Mainly through seeing others do the things and me laughing at how horrible it is.)

  I want to say Eternia, but before you get all judgemental hear me out. The prospect and illusion of the roleplay enviroment it provides was amazing, not only that I have time to try a bit of creative writing in roleplays, people influenced the enviroment, politics and many other aspects of mature roleplay existed. Until I realized how terribly shit the community is, the experience was pretty neat.

When did I start roleplaying?
I started playing DnD with my parents and aunts and uncles when I was around seven. My first character ever was a Dwarven Fighter named Earthstriker who was literally dressed in weapons, hated drakes, threw an axe at the bad guy in the middle of his evil speech, and carted around a keg of Ale everywhere that he treated like a beloved pet.

How long have you been roleplaying?
About twelve years on and off, I'd say.

Where did you have your best RP experiences?
I still think my group's first run of Eternia was one of the best campaigns I've been involved in, considering that we basically took over the game by not giving a shit. Space Station 13 has a lot of good memories for me, along with crackfic tier DnD adventures with my friends.

Do I have any experience with with tabletop games, MUDs/MUKs/etc?
A metric fuckton of Dungeons and Dragons, a game of Exalted, a few games of Dark Heresy, Vampire the Masquerade, the Urban Dead MUD, the Dragonlance MUD, and some horror ARGs, like the Slender Man Mythos back when it was more interesting than 'BOO! A SLENDERMAN POPS OUT!!!1!'.

For about 8-9 years give or take, not very active though. After the first few years actively RPing I got burnt out and now I have a bit of trouble getting the motivation to actively rp

My best experience on byond is toss up between Universe of Comics and Land of Legends. You could be pick something you wanted to do and be very impactful if you tried hard enough.
The most interesting and fun experience in RP I've had was when I had become this evil elf king and basically set out to take over the world. It worked for the most part but there was this secret group of rebels that had been training like crazy and ambushed me as I was heading to my throne room after I had basically finished taking over everything (cuz what king doesn't want to sit at his throne after a hard day of backstabbery and whatnot) and then I was killed.

Where did you first start roleplaying?
I had a friend whose parents owned a card shop near where my mother worked. Used to play DnD there.

How long have you been roleplaying?
Well... That was about 13 years ago? Stopped after a while, but really started getting into it again when I had to eventually move. I'd say in total, I've probably been more active in roleplaying since ten years ago. Started online literally with Space Station 13, MH, Bleach Last Horizion, and Sigro. Yeah I know. Horrible.

Where did you have your best roleplay experiences?
I've always enjoyed DnD, but I've been having troubles with getting people together recently, and even more trouble trying to do things online. Doesn't matter if it's serious or not, as long as everyone is having fun. Literally played a campaign a while ago that was just Supernatural Lore themed[within a middle ages pirate setting]. Interesting, but involved a lot of will saves. :I Play hard. Play Bard.

Other expiriences?
Mostly tabletop stuff. Second Edition, 3.5, 4, a little of this a little of that. Random hoopla and dice throws. Other than that, nope.

On a forum, of all things. It wasn't so much an RP in the way we know it as just taking turns writing our own chapters. We were even allowed to write stuff for each other's characters so long as it fit them, etc.

About 12 years ago was when I started, but I only got REALLY into it about 8-10 years ago.

Where did you have your best roleplay experiences?

A hilarious 2nd Edition D&D Campaign where I was a kender (if you don't know what these are, you suck)

A game of Heroes Unlimited where my character and his asian buddy got shot up in a coffee shop while singing Mr Roboto for no other reason than "lol racism"

An RP Server in WoW of all things (I don't play anymore, but Horde FTW, the Alliance had all the biggest jerks, Horde was great)

And finally, believe it or not, some of the relationships and people met through SL2.


Other experiences?

I've tried RPB once, and hated it. Without firm mechanics to play within (See: RPing within a game, like that WoW server, or SL2) any form of battling someone else always has me worried about godmodding, whether unintentionally doing it myself, or my opponent doing so.

I've also done some pretty extensive Skype RPs (though lately the Skype RPs are mostly just "Eh, SL2 is too laggy, let's RP our characters on Skype instead&quot


Other notes:

Honestly? I'm rusty. I've been around SL2 for a long-ish time, sure (almost 10 months now, on and off) but due to my condition, I was on a severe extended haitus from RP of a solid 6-7 years or so.

As such, it's been like re-learning RP conventions (which have evolved over time, it seems) all over again, and I don't consider myself the most proficient. Sure, seeing legit bad RP makes me realize I'm not a novice, but I'm not going to brag and claim to be a pro, either. People I met in SL2 keep trying to invite me to other games, like Misuterii, and I legitimately wonder why they thought I was worth considering, heh.

I have the most fun working within the existing systems, but flexing my creativity within the maximum reasonable boundaries. A Kensei/Monk with a sword and a gun? Power Gradation is RP'd as a Ki based skill, and the gunshots are physical manifestations of that ki, like a shockwave you'd see in an anime (Think "Demon Fang" or "Azure Edge" from the Tales games, for example. Basically, like Shinken.) or using a Jeweled Gauntlet as an LB's lantern, that they also project an ethereal shield from (Aegis + Hard Light.) A half hyattr with no wings? Trying to breathe fire hurts her, but she can channel it through a catalyst and perform it like Shinken, instead. Things like this.

Where did you first start roleplaying?
- I first started roleplaying in Mitadake High. Crazy, right? Well yeah, I sucked at first-- and by sucked I meant I seriously sucked that I god-modded a LOT; then I went to Sigrogana Legend while simultaneously playing Bleach Last Horizon, Bleach Way of the Souls and Era of the Shinobi. That was when I 'git gud' or sommin'. Then when SL2 popped out, I played it almost immediately.

that i recall? mitadake high. i know i rped before that. probably on icon ultima in 2007 lmao. went to SL1 shortly afterwards, had a phase in which i ran multiple paragraph-long tumblr rp blogs (was fun but tedious)
