I was toying around with the idea of a Arbalest + Gigantys combo and quickly ran into a bug. Whenever you have a main-hand weapon equipped, regardless of what it is, and then your Gigantys as your sub-weapon, the damage drops. I believe the issue is that the Gigantys is using the weight of your Main-Hand weapon instead of its own. I've compiled some screenshots below.
Main Handed 53 weight Gigantys, tested by itself and with a sub weapon (I don't have two-handed either.)
Sub-Weapon 53 weight Gigantys by itself, still normal so far, steady 255 damage
Sub-weapon 53 weight Gigantys equipped with a 20 weight Fellgrant Drinker, now the damage starts to drop.
And for a final test, Sub-weapon 53 weight Gigantys with a 0 weight main-handed Ensui.
To replicate any of these, slap a Gigantys into your sub-weapon slot and then any weapon into your main-hand and watch the numbers drop. For reference, I messed with Arbalest's Special Armament as well to see if that was the cause as it lowers your sub-weapon Battle Weight by 50% and it didn't have any impact in-use or not.
