The Sniper Wolf Situation is Crazy
#1
I have mixed feelings about Druid, a lot of thoughts that mostly surmount to me believing it is overall very balanced with the exception of a couple of very strong tools, such as a fiendishly strong hit/crit buff that is understandably desirable for any basic attacker in the current landscape of SL2, especially when dodge is in such a state that I have little desire to want to propose touching upon what is arguably the most desirable aspect of running Druid over many of it's tools.

Until dodge and arguably crit evade are less effective, instead I'll be targeting what I think is the most outlandishly effective beside Purity Edge and Viper Wrap:

Call: Wolf Howl's range.

The sheer size of this skill is tremendous, you can freely target a 3 range circle up to 6 range away, for only 10 FP too. We have seen skills like this get nerfed in the past because freely targetable AoEs up to this far away have always been very effective, I need no further arguments than to point at why Holy Spark and Detonation Rift have had their targetable ranges nerfed too, with Call: Wolf Howl doing arguably more damage than these 2 skills too I see little reason why it shouldn't be targeted the same way, so I do expect some understanding to be met with here hopefully.

Couple this up with the class' 2 individually separate cooldowns of 1m movement and you can very seriously threaten a far larger area than any melee in the game has ever been allowed to, all with very serious damage. (and I do acknowledge that Druid is weapon agnostic and can't be considered a true melee, but most of it's skills suggest to me its structured to be one.)

So why am I not targetting Hawk Gale too? Its only 1 less range than Wolf Howl sure and can be used in combination with your wild shape to threaten a very similar range, and while Wind ATK is arguably more common than Sound ATK, having Crit Damage on this class is exceedingly more common than both of those, and Wolf Howl scales fully off of that, to the point where the sound ATK does not matter and infact opens up a build where you can do ludicrous AoE damage instead of really good AoE damage.

Additionally I would like to point out that Wolf Howl has triple the range of any bear skills, and 1 more effective range than any of the Call: Viper skills as well,

I acknowledge that these skills come at a not insignificant personal cost to the Druid for using them: That being a cooldown added to the rest of that animal's skills (including summoning them) but even so, I think that the range of at least Wolf Howl should be reduced. I argue that Hawk Gale could be reduced too but at least it makes sense for that one to have some range to it, it even comes at the cost of one of your 1m movements.

I think reducing the range of this skill is genuinely for the best, the damage doesn't have to be cut since the non-call version of the skill isn't even remotely all that oppressive, but being able to throw that up to 6 range away is. If you want my suggestion for it, the range should be heavily reduced, down to 3 range I'd say, its not supposed to be a sniper rifle is it? Even the range I am proposing is the nearly the same as Black Bubble, a skill with already respectable range to it.
