Called Shots
#1
Why not have the ability to call shots to certain limbs whenever you do a basic attack. Minus hit, but effects based on it.

You sunder someones legs? -MOV/DODGE
Arms? -HIT/DMG
Head? +FP consumption/higher damage on hit.

Of course your hit would take a penalty, but attacking someones head and hurting it would cause their 10 FP skill to cost 15, and it would deal a lot more damage on said hit.

Arms being battered would cause you to lose the bonus of mainhand/offhand weapon/shield/nihilist depending on how much you did. Etc.

Giving more debuffs to a gun is not the way to go specially with just basic attacks.

That being said, perhaps adding skills may be more viable.

Such as Pinning shot, 6m -- The archer/gunner/arbal takes careful aim at the targets leg, preforming a basic attack with a chance to immobilize for 1-3 turns.

Disabling Shot- The archer/gunner aims for the targets main arm, preforming a basic attack with a chance to render that arm useless for 1-3 turns. (Prevents use of main weapon effectively treating them as unarmed).

Head shot is already a skill.

"Called shots" isn't just for guns. Its a phrase used in numerous tabletop systems where you take a Called Attack to a persons body/gear to cause debilitating conditions, or sunder their gear.

Called shot with an axe to their arm? Possible dismemberment

But it COULD be Fallout.

It could also be Final Fantasy Tactics A2. The archers in that game had a whole list of
locational damage skills that did less damage than basic attacks, but applied a debuff
based on the body part you targeted.

This was definitely neat, yeah. Aim: Legs would cause Immobilize, for example. Though I prefer the minor stat penalty option; less exploitable.

I'd argue you'd need rank 5 weapon expertise in your weapon to try to pull this stuff off, though. And maybe add a trait for it.

While it sounds like a handy addition it would definetly screw over those that are not dodgers. More often than not I heavily exceed 100% hit on an opponent.
And crippling someone you did ten damage to is just ridiculous.
