You do realize most of the characters in this game are essentially demigods, right?

If my [tooltip2=An Evoker can turn whole armies to molten slag, armed with nothing but a bathrobe and a harsh word]Evoker[/tooltip2] can land over 100% of her punches while blind, I really don't see an issue with making the game look less like crap.

Yeah, it's pretty annoying when my screen is on max brightness and it's still hard for me to see at night in the game.

I'd really rather there was some way to have a dynamic lighting. but I suppose that's too much to ask for. I guess it wouldn't ruin the atmosphere of night too much if it was -slightly- brighter.

and activating it would toggle a personal light source on and off?

That's not a bad idea.

Better yet, make a dungeon prefix where it makes the dungeon pitch-black,
and only Vampires, Grimalkin and Felidae could see in there without the use
of a light source, because Darkvision. Liches could be their own light source,
because they're made of energy -- this could be represented by an item
called a Lich-Light that goes in their inventory and functions like a handheld
light that never burns out.

Speaking of which, make candles, lanterns and torches burn out after some
in-game hours, like 2 for candles, 3 for torches, or 5 for lanterns. Candles
could weigh 0.1, torches could weigh 1 and have a bigger radius, and then
lanterns could weigh 1, and burn oil flasks that weigh 0.1, and have the
biggest radius.
