Kiras Stupid Ideas.(Class Geomancer)
#1
When I first joined i was flooding chat with my observations one of which actually got some positive feedback including at least two people telling me to put it up here

CUT TO TODAY when i finally get off my ass and TRY to post the idea in full

GEOMANCER A class that specialises in Environmental summons These are not Yokai but elemental spirits (nerhaven redgull Kraken ect,) given physical form under the geomancers command.

Red Skills
Erupt. a small ball of magma that grows as it travels exploding cinder tiles in an area around equal to it's size

Glacier A large spike targeting one enemy damaging everything around said enemy and filling the zone with ice

Fling A gust of air in a straight line throwing objects away from the geomancer

Pull a magnetic spear of rock drawing everything close to where it impacts

Unleash destroy target golem to have (TILE TYPE) spread across a large area

Consume 9x9 area gain 1 fp per tile in that area remove tiles (works on their tiles too!) perhaps make the area bigger as you rank up and start it smaller?

Blue Skills

Yellow Skills
Imbue Targeting a terrain effect to force the elemental spirit from your body into a new form
Requirement one of the mages elemental buff skills and Appropriate terrain

Cinder Tiles house the Nerhaven Spirit summoning a giant Fireblood Golem It burns enemies around it every turn and can take quite a beating and can Explode

Ice Plate Tiles Summon a Ice Golem subjecting everything around to frostbite and makes ice tiles when it walks

Molding Heal target Golem ?

Green Skills
Spirit Bond when a Geomancer Imbues there is a % based chance that they auto enchant themselves with a spell in their possession

Guardian You golems gain stats and abilities per skills level
Level 1 Protect (does this skill work? XD) probably +hp +def + Res
Level 2 Stamp Blunt Damage and 50% elemental damage from golem type 1 tile away (essentially to give them a second attack)
Level 3 Blast 100% elemental attack up to 3 tiles away (ranged attack)

Grey Skills
A passive that buffs Wil

Land Feeder. Increase Fp gain from consuming tiles. per rank

Thoughts. Erupt Glacier Fling and Pull are your tile interactions Cinder and Glacier should be for tile creation fling and pull are used to draw rocks and enemies together / away

Imbue Should have one Elemental Golem for each mage spirit buff Using Ice Tiles and Cinder tiles Rocks/Flowers/Mana Crystals and Perhaps it's own Elemental spirits for Darkwater and Sanctuary tiles. (or give holy and dark spirits to the mage?)

Note not even sure how much of this is doable and most of this is just for me to put my dumb idea's down somewhere (should this go in general discussion instead?)

I know it's not even half finished but i got tired of quietly working on it since i first talked about the idea on ooc.

UPDATE added consume moved molding to yellow skills considering removing it entirely Added Guardian Added Landfeeder Added skillpoint counter

Total Skillpoints in tree 58

The idea of a pet focused class would be a potentially great concept for a tanky Mage promo. The only issue would be to differentiate it from how summoners work as well as not do what a summoner promo would be more suited for.

I do like how it still keeps the theme of heavy CC and AoE abilities for Mage promos and works well with it's enchantment mechanic. I also like the ideas of elemental golems being just non sentient puppets the mage can sacrifice for a strong effect, which definitely separates it from how summoners are flavored. if you stick to these concepts and refine the class more I think you might have something good on your hands. Perhaps more abilities that allow golems to absorb damage or reduce enemy offense so it could be optionally built as a tank by making the summoned golems shield allies and the mage from harm.

A lot of these are done by just using Evoker > Galren > Earth Spells. Geomancer is pretty easy to do in-game already in so many different ways. I honestly don't think this is promo worthy, I apologize if that was harsh. Promo classes usually are out of the box and something that hasn't been implemented in the game already.

Agreed with PantherPrincess to an extent. Though, maybe some of these suggestions could serve as new mage spells, instead. Just a thought.

Or maybe the proposed class could have more than just Geomancy to it, and pack a different title.

I was expecting invocations that changed the whole field's tiles to ice/cinders/poison/air shafts/dark water. ree -1

@Snake that's sorta the idea of Unleash

It costs the same number of actions as an invocation too 3 to summon and 3 to unleash though i'm trying to avoid just giving them Expanding ice only now it's with fire

@ Panther I would argue that there is not class other than VG that actually interacts with tiles after they are put down aside form pushing / pulling people across them you don't come off as harsh thanks for the comment.

@Fern yeah Mage needs more spells Honestly I would give Evokers first tier of spells and give them to the mage (and an extra lightning one) and make bigger evoker ones. I honestly feel like evokers should aside from using invocations to deal massive damage also have huge one shot spells ones that take say up to 100-250 mana. actual world ending spells that make them feared (probably with some stipulations on how often they can be used) Or at least give them a Enchantment or Water Light Dark. since that's where the Enchantment spells are and they are in the elemental talents panel (i sorta understand there being no sound or scid one though I would love to see more of them) I feel like giving it two different playstyles would clutter the class ? thoughts?

@Argonus CC Tank is one of the end goals of the ice golem thinking of maybe using cooldowns on Imbue/Unleash then again this is mostly class theory crafting.

Maybe if the name was changed to Golemancer or Elementalist it would be more fitting.also each elemental golem should have a unique effect to them while they are active such as ice golems leaving ice sheets where they walk, earth golems posessing more defense, air golems knocking back enemies when it hits them, ect. That way there is a point to having them around instead if eventually detonating them.

@argonus Already started that. Earth is missing. not sure how you would summon an air golem
