Dead Content - Recycle and/or remove
#1
So I had noticed around the game, it is littered with dead content. Not counting cities of course, but I'm taking about features. Some areas of the game are not used due to the low reward value, or just in general, static to one locaion.

Here's some of my suggestions to fix some of this dead content

Oniga Casino
So the Oniga Casino always seems to be barren. No one ever goes in them, and the games there are not played at all. I suggest that maybe, the casino cna be revitalize wit better rewards, or removing the Casino Coins system and replace it with betting Murai and Asagos. Why Asagos? Asagos act as like bank notes of that sort, as 100 Asagos = 10k or something like that. They can be worth quite a bit depending on who you sell them to. I think honestly it'd be pretty clever to use that with Casino Coins or have a different vender exchange casino coins for Asagos as a wager.

Either that, or have certain locations for Cainos. Maybe if some Kingdoms have it illegal, make it an underground place or have us do games in camps. It would be a good idea to do that.

Static Minigames
Many if not all of the Minigames like Yenten are dead content. I know you can move around Archery targets, but you can't own a deck of cards? To be honest, I think the deck of cards should be reused and have a multi game option like crazy 8s, poker, Yenten, Solitary, etc. And you can challenge people to these card games too if you have a deck of playing cards in your inventory, or form a game in a group. Party spreads out and all that if it's a 4 player game. I think it would be a great little fun thing.

Treasure Maps
I know I'm gonna get some hate here, but Treasure Maps don't feel as rewarding as they should. I always notice how the maps are always leading to very similar locations and yield the same rewards.

I suggest we should have instead, different tiers of maps, and label them, maybe have more steps, and go around asking different NPCs for hints.

For example, in the MMO, RuneScape, a similar feature known as Treasure Trails is where you follow hints to find the casket which contains treasure. Every roll yields treasure that is only worth 1 coin, to extremely rare and really good treasure worth over hundreds of billions of coins. Very easy clues to treasure are basic steps such as talking to NPCs and solving very simple riddles and tells you to go to a certain location to search, but the harder clues involve using a sextant and chart and watch, and using special equipment to find it. Some will even have combat encounters guarding the treasure, with master clues being challenging bosses.

In SL2, A similar approach could be added, with some treasure hiding in a certain BDP? The difficulty ranges can vary from whichever npc drops maybe stating at level 10 dungeons so newbies won't get a map so easily! Drop rolls can include new rewards, which can range from super junk, to junk 10*s to extremely useful items and amazing 10*s. Oh, and these new maps and such can also challenge your Pathfinder talent, maybe have it so the very hard ones dropped in a higher level dungoen won't show or something?

These are just three examples I can think of that could become alive again. Any other dead content you think needs to be rid of or revamped? Let me know!

WHAT IS A COFFEECCUBUS?

A type of "ccubus" that is a form of a succubus, but instead of feeding off of sexual energy, she feeds off of Coffee. She also is a morning person, so always expect your coffee to be made, with breakfast and your coffee pot being stolen or molested.

I mean I use the Casino and it having Casino coins makes since that's what Casinos do lol. The only thing I'd suggest is adding a conversion rate for coins to murai. That's it.

The mini game is fine, you don't have to play it if you don't like it.

I also use the maps, there's nothing wrong with them. The only hard part of those map if the map shows nothing but grass or sand with no type of land mark.

So remove? No. Adjust? Maybe. Its really not that deep.

Onigan Casino - I don't really see the point in making the casino use Murai and Asagos for betting? Asagos aren't really easy to get in game unless you spend IRL money to get them and 9/10 they go on things that would help the players character in some way or form. A conversion system maybe but in my personal opinion the casino is fine as it is. Not everyone has to use the thing for it to be something of use.

Mini games- Nothing wrong with them. Don't play them if you don't like them. RP mini games can be a thing. Go wild.

Treasure Maps- As little as rewarding as they are, they are treasure maps for a reason one would assume, making it too easy would suck the fun out of them. Yes the only show grass or sand but on occasions they do actually give parts of buildings etc. And there aren't many places you can dig anyway so that narrows down about half the games continents to begin with. Again if you don't like them don't use them or sell them at a pawn shop. Adding them to BDP'S? Sure but consider they already have chest in them.

Iiii don't think there's much of a point to removing any of these. The only change I'd propose is making the Casino Coins have an actual exchange rate for Murai, but that's really it. Asagos kind of have to be the premium in game currency for a reason, the mini games are just mini games for a reason, and other than slightly improving the value of treasure maps- which is going to happen anyway because most new items are 9* anyway- everything here is fine. We don't need parts REMOVED from the game anyway, that's just not cash money.

If you want my hot take.

Casino should stay as it is. I'd argue a tiny bit for changing casino coins to murai but personally, I see no point. As I see it now, the Casino is a place of slight mechanical irrelevance. It has a nice shop you can buy some things only from there.

You can convert murai into casino coins to get said things. You can gamble to get casino coins exponentially to get said things. You can go diggy diggy with treasure maps to aid with some of these things. That's all whatever. And i've personally RP'd a few times here and there at the casino and as Aqua said for the Minigames. RP Flavor can be attached or just y'know. Don't care much about it. Seems like kinda a dick move to wanna remove something because not 95% of the game uses it, ya know? At that point, I could justify removing a fuckton of stuff from this game. Nearly all of us could. Since the minority is not the majority and thusly, get fucked, nerd.

Minigames, I'd only be for adding Chess and Solitary and personally, Blackjack. But if I wanted to play Solitary, i'd literally just go open it on my PC or some website. I'd question those who seek to play such memes within SL2. If anything, just make more unique stuff than adding in more common stuff that'd you see around the modern age. That's what i'd want. Otherwise. Just don't play it. Personally, carrying a Yenten Deck around to play on the go or at your house is cool, but again. Don't touchy if you don't seeky.

Treasure Maps, they get me easy mode gems and casino coins on my non-grind characters, aren't too hard, and probably shouldn't have too much effort with them to begin with. Pretty much like most other common treasure map systems you'd see in some RPG Maker Games or outlandish games. Notably, it pretty much functions the same as Elona. Down to getting casino coins and all. So y'know. I see minimal problem with those as well. Dev can touch on it if he wants, but i'd never dare to remotely complain about it. I'll take what I can get, and I have less reason to complain due to how easy it is.

But to call it dead content, that's a bit of a meme, y'know?

tl;dr
If you're telling me people don't use the Casino often for the actual games, that'd be blatantly wrong and i'd go as far as to say you just don't get around or have friendos to go there with.

If you tell me people don't play Yenten, i'd probably believe that. It's an okay game if that's your taste but no one has to play it if they don't wanna. Seems more like a 'for fun' thing than a 'lemme get mechanical benefits' kinda thing. So Dev can touch on that but it's irrelevant to me, truly.

If you're remotely calling Treasure Maps 'dead content' despite people doing treasure maps every so often, then i'd actually equip a Skullcaver and s m a c c you. Could they be more rewarding? Debatable. I've gotten plenty of rare metals and casino coins and gems (which usually equate to magic stones) as well as mats and other breakdownable stuff just from them alone. All depends on what ya expect. I see the word treasure, I don't necessarily expect something grand, nor some wild goose chase to find it. I just expect a map to lead me to a place to go diggy and get whatever, valuable or not at the time. That's what I get.

tl;dr tl;dr
Casino is fine, get friends and go party.

Yenten is okay but pls make deck for portable memes Dev. Minigames can be added or not, irrelevant, RP or go to other websites if you want certain memes. Make more unique things rather than already existing things dev pls

Treasure Maps aren't remotely dead, at best make them slightly more rewarding but again, I don't feel they're too unrewarding for what you can potentially get.

That is all. Have great day.

Thanks for your feedback everyone,

I can see that Oniga Casino is indeed alive and well considering how you guys are saying it. But still, I think more can be done to it. It just seems boring playing the same 2 games. Add some more games to it or something. More events surrounding it too. I'd love to see a lottery being made or something like that.

The Yenten thing well, yeah. We can all agree it should be portable and placeable as a house object too.

Treasure Maps I knew I'd get flack for. But hey, I just think it needed more.
