Guards and Metagaming

3. Town-to-Town distance.... The Mage's Guild pretty much confirmed that they work with the law.

This isn't what I meant when I cited Dev's quote. I meant to say that 'the distance is pretty long in general' and that traversing across a 'tile' of the map takes a lot longer than it looks.

What was the reason for this thread? Unless something happened to justify calling out the guards (the Law's End incident doesn't count, as it's been resolved), then you shouldn't be rocking the boat. If I were a guard, I would probably be quite irritated with you if this came out of the blue, citing a rule that I hadn't broken (or had already been settled in a civil manner if I had).

I'm quite aware of that. But any Guard with common sense would realize that using the Majistra portal would be far faster than simply trying to run across the continent; something that your initial statement seems to overlook. Always assume that a Guard will take the quickest path to get to a situation.

what people are complaining about is someone in a pvp battle at the far end of the continent across the bridge, gets back up on turn 2 of a fight.

Or anything outside oniga as traveling in a desert is not easy

Heck even going to chaturanga en masse would get a small reaction from black knights, slowing you down briefly

This part may be pretty true, but if the Black Knights or any soldiers of an empire saw law enforcement officials (especially the same ones over and over), they'd probably be like, "Oh hey, they're here to most likely uphold the law, so I don't see any reason to stop them".

That's like an MP telling a civilian cop what to do when they have no authority over them unless they were in their jurisdiction. Which is pretty much the case here, but the difference is is that unfortunately our small guardforce has be to universal guards for all countries in game (which is especially difficult during combat in Oniga). So technically, we have jurisdiction over every lawful place, and in a town, I don't see the reason a soldier would stop a guard for any reason if they're doing their job.

On the distance subject matter though, there are many other types of transportation than teleporting via the Mage Guilds. Dev's said that mounts, carriages, and etc exist. I don't see how anyone at all wouldn't have access to those kinds of things just because they're not an in game mechanic.
