I really do not like the idea of only GMs being able to make their own storylines or whatever. I don't think they should have any more of an effect than players do on whatever stories they create, but I could see this being retooled as something everyone could do. Only if it was allowed in their own home, however. That's just my two cents on the matter, though.

General reaction so far seems to be, put lightly, less than thrilled.
Well I don't want to be rude, but... on a scale of being captured in Iraq to enjoying a leisurely afternoon in a fancy hotel, I'd say my feelings on this matter are something along the lines of

Why exactly not? I was under the impression that people wanted things to happen.

My opinion is essentially the same as Grandpa's--if this stuff /does/ happen, it'd be best that everyone gets the ability to make those events, not just a select group of DM/GMs. And, again, like they already said, there'd obviously be some limitations (I.E. only allow them in their houses.).
We(I) want things to happen, yes, buuuuut said things happening shouldn't be in the hands of a select clique of people, because things would inevitably become biased, or just plain push certain people to the side that don't mesh well with whatever the event planners had in mind.

Why would the events involve only a clique of people?

My concern is primarily with GMs going overboard with their events. I want things to happen of course, but if this happens there's a need to very very clear rules on how they're put together and carried out... and I honestly think that something hard-coded and wide-scale would be better. A system that encourages events to happen naturally is better than events that happen at random with no relation to one another.

I'd like to give the GMs their own tools to make plot lines for the game sometime after the next update, and maybe bring in a few other story-minded players to be 'DM' sort of deals and create these dynamic plotlines/events. I'd like to give people that chance, with some oversight from me so it doesn't conflict with the 'overall' and untold aspects of the game, but with enough freedom to do what they want to do.
Like I said, I intend to give oversight on events made in this fashion. I don't want someone to do something that would conflict with things I introduce or do down the line, either.

Does this mean we get the Blue Truth back to counter your Red, Dev? (Jokes aside)
I think for a little while still maybe, any plots should be laid off of until the story progresses just a bit more, that way we don't tread in water we'd be trespassing in. But that's me mostly being cautious of making sure I don't overstep you, Dev.

You're misunderstanding what I mean when I say oversight. People involved would have to submit an outline for my approval, and I would make sure it doesn't step on my toes in any way before they're allowed to do it.
