Due to a recent topic in general discussions which some players felt like there wasn't enough content outside of combat which could inspire roleplay. I felt like I should make a topic specifically for that where you can contribute your opinion of what would be added.
I'll start with a few from the top of my head that are by no means fleshed out.
1) Expanded Overworld
Now, by itself this isn't much, however; by stretching out the overworld there's more room for other things other than just dungeons. See: 2)
2) Player Controlled Villages/Cities
With the expansion of the overworld, this could actually come into play. Dungeons cannot spawn a tile away from the city/village. (Including Diagonals) Similar to a house but expanded a bit. Come's with a shop for the owner of said city to buy interiors, personal mage's guild and etc. Can have it's own set of rules/laws.
(Yes there could be problems with player owned cities in the empire or anywhere.)
3) 'Guilds'
Not necessarily needed in an RP or Gameplay aspect other than for organization. Knowing who's what rank or who's what in your organization.
4) Dice/Coins

Note: These ideas aren't fleshed out at all.

1 and 2 are pretty great ideas to me, though even the overworld doesn't need to be currently expanded as much as new maps just need to be added; Beldam, Doraington, Mallus, Karaten (or even non-city maps). Then again, just because you have a village in Sigrogana doesn't mean you can ignore the empire's laws.
Also, the tiny crap on the overworld really bugs me, especially in PvP circumstances, and it needs to go in my opinion.
3. No. That's a blatant waste of file space and something you can easily do on notepad or on a piece of paper.
4.. Not really necessary, I don't really see much point in it existing other than killing the Casino, which needs more minigames.

Dice and Coins can help with a variety of situations where players don't want to settle things by stats alone. Sure you can probably gamble icly with it. But dice/coins usually prevents godmodding in certain situations from my own experiences.

Dice and coins would be so I don't have to go out of my way to open other stuff and invite a person to some chat program just so we can deal with an RP situation that involves calling out heads or tails while keeping the feel of the situation genuine.
It's pretty lame when I have to say "(Okay well let's just say the coin was heads)".

Actually I think that dice and coins, despite being such a simple addition, can help RP in the game grow in leaps and bounds due to their myriad of uses in different situations. You would actually be hard-pressed to find an idea that would be a bigger help than the ones Soapy brought to the table. Often it's the simple things that can make or break immersion, and this is one of those cases.

I'd like to see more done with the Black Knights, Curates, and Ghosts. For classes that have IC organisations built around them, it'd be interesting to have actual questlines and reasons to pursue them. I play Medraut as belonging to the Black Knights as a member and having been on a campaign or two with them, but there's nothing I can really do mechanically with them, especially since most players taking Black Knight are just using it as fighter/paladin prestige class rather than the fluff.

In regards to #2, that obviously needs some significant fleshing out, because as it stands it doesn't give me much reason to consider. Why would I add them? What would it bring to the table that SL2 is currently lacking? And so on.
Number 3 is a possibility, but I'd like some expansion on what features would be expected.
Number 4 is something I will definitely be doing.
As for questlines for organizations, keep in mind, my general goal is to expand the game beyond a combat focus. It might be possible to have organizations that you can join in-game, and get jobs/quests to go with them, if people feel this will enhance their immersion and such. But if you just want information about the various organizations, I can do a write up on a bunch of them (like I've been meaning to). Both ideas might be worth pursuing.

It's more so something that came to the top of my mind at the moment I thought of this thread.
2) and 3) in conjuction would be it's own interesting aspect in terms of faction wars, since there has been a few RPs involving a city or two. (Laws End for example.)
If anyone wants to flesh the city making idea out, go for it.
On the other hand; in terms of non-combat
5) A public farm for gathering would be nice. ( Along with a option to privately farm for gold or buying one with asagonians )
6) More ores and materials along with recipes for crafting would be nice. Woodworking/Tailoring needs some love.
7) Daily Quests(?)
An incentive to log on everyday, gives 1/10th of the EXP needed to level. Can be simple and without combat. ( Real days of course. )

Being able to organize ranks and add more if desired, having an MotD sort of page for the 'guild/organization', Organization chat, potentially have the leader designate a 'Guild-Hall'. (One of their own houses.) Which allows them to open and store things inside depending on their rank/permissions. Come to my head immediately.

Everything sounds great. I want it all, but a guild system in SL2 really isn't that essential. Ryu already stated why, and I agree, but aside from that, I still want it all. ALL.
