People involved would have to submit an outline for my approval, and I would make sure it doesn't step on my toes in any way before they're allowed to do it.

Ah, actually that's a great idea. Okay, I'm less concerned now, then.

Mind if I pose a question? What kind of tools are we talking about here? Because players can already create events, the problem starts with giving them the motivation to get involved. This may actually be a step backwards if the tools aren't potent, because players would now have to go through an approval process to get their events running.

This wouldn't have any impact on players running their own events. You've always been limited in what you can do as a player because of the rules of the game.

What I'm talking about is bigger, overarching plots.

I have no problem with trying this out and seeing if it's feasible, at least. Of course, if it does become a thing, I'm going to try working on stuff that non-'DM's have in mind more often than not. (Within reasonable boundaries, mind you)

Only question I have about it right now is this: Is this going to work like how GMs could do events in SL1? Is it going to work like how the Kinu/Ashe plot is being made right now? Or is it going to be both ways/a combination of the two?

It'd be more along the lines of SL1's 'events' rather than things pre-scripted and put into the game.

.....uhmmmm I have PTSD from sl1 events and fallout.

Can you make a set of Actor keys for the gm's to share, that have self edit verbs, that only work on themselves.

I will literally spazz out if I see people borrowing others keys to make op event characters that non gm's have access to....

Otherwise:

those actor keys can have anything, npc abilities, 55 class points to spend, 99 youkai slots. absofucknlutely anything

SL1 had no oversight from me when GMs did things, which is why stupidity happened. Needless to say things like that won't happen in this game.

Not to say you don't know this already, but maybe you should be a bit more picky.

Now, does that mean we have to exclude similar 'session'-type plot lines? No, not at all. I'd like to give the GMs their own tools to make plot lines for the game sometime after the next update, and maybe bring in a few other story-minded players to be 'DM' sort of deals and create these dynamic plotlines/events.

This would be a step in the wrong direction if things were going to happen.
