From what I've studied, allied monsters will attack their buddy if he gets charmed, but he still targets and attacks the person who charmed him.

I used Fire Jet, then the Legume got charmed by my butterfly that the Shaman killed, jumped by his buddies, and then he came after me and promptly died by fire.
