I agree with Lolzy that all this will do is nerf elemental attack for anyone who doesn't build Will while doing little to nothing for mages.

I think just nerfing defensive scaling weapons while making elemental attack equal 100% stat + 25% will is a good start. It's minor, but I don't think tha elemental damage deserves a nerf in any regard.

Ignoring/dumping a stat should not come without consequences. Making WIL a factor in elemental ATK, but not penalizing the player for ignoring that stat when running an elemental ATK build, is not balance.

Yes, this will nerf people who utilize elemental ATK without running up WIL. That includes any mage who tries to use as little WIL as possible, as Fern stated much earlier in this topic. That also means anyone who utilizes one stat and its element for their offense will have to choose between diminished damage, or transfer points from their defensive stats into WIL. This helps chip away at mighty glacier builds.

Making WIL purely boost elemental ATK does not help to keep tank builds in check, since it does not lower the current offensive power that relevant tank builds have. In fact, it makes tank mages more prominent, since they still keep (a vast majority of) their defensive stats and get a nice boost from WIL in the process.

...And honestly, elemental ATK doesn't need that kind of buff in the first place. Specialization options? Sure, why not. But making WIL a power-up for all elements with absolutely no drawback whatsoever is ridiculous. Same goes for +% elemental damage boosting.

Willpower should add, not change. If it changes, a LOT of people who built for gimmicky things will be a little bit annoyed, because we don't get Fruits of Fluidity for free, you know.

Builds come and go with each update. Getting blindsided by an adjustment from a patch is nothing new.
