Whether good reason or not, it feels like it's one of those things where you shouldn't be allowed to just make a character unplayable. If you can make a character unplayable, there's no point in a rule stopping you killing people. People will use this to make a rule pretty much worthless. That, and, well... You can never tell truly whether it's out of spite or not, because it'll always be covered up by some kind of reasoning.
