But people can still stack resists. It's not impossible or unheard of for people to put on a trinket and change their offhand to completely nullify a mage with 30% elemental resist items. So it's not some replacement for stacking resists. You can still stack resists pretty freely to topple mages for free.

Keep those items. Add in physical resist trinkets, boots, and shields too.
