The main reason I'm interested in it is for the aesthetic purpose of letting the player move their sprite closer to the edge of a tile rather than looking like they're being overly cautious of the edge of a cliff for example.
For these reasons I have no intentions of bringing the Shift_X and Shift_Y values below -8 or above 8.
