Please bring back Lich and Dullahan
#1
The fact lich and dullahan were removed from the game still puzzles me. Why?

If the immortality is the issue, I propose that these races are simply a more recent development, meaning they couldn't be ancient enough to remember ancient times.

It's free content for the video game! Please Dev, please!

Note: We should also get rid of phylactery immortality if that's a problem. Why not just remove that part if it's an issue? Instead of taking out the entire race...

Up!
I'd like to add that all other races should too. There's literally no reason to keep those out save for, maybe, Zerans. But then again, is it really necessary to keep those races away? It's not like their heritage is inherently keeping them aware of the G6 lore, stuff can be made up to avoid that in Korvara. As for the phylactery immortality mentioned above, just make it track-able via RP. Maybe, force Liches to store the phylactery whereabouts via RP (emote) and if it's needed, could be checked via logs.

Zerans exemption is fine if we get a zeran invasion one day

I personally don't love the idea of undead roaming around as PCs. I doubt it would be treated seriously by most, tbh.

Before it is said, Amalgama is very different from your regular undead. Maybe Dullahan compares, but Lich/Vampire just sounds itchy.

I guess I could see Dullahan being a race that is created artificially like many homunculi, even Lich/Vampire depending on the lore. But it would really need to be something different- special!

Korvara DID bring Mechanation purely off of IC, so maybe there could be scientific reasons to have Dullahan/Lich/Vampire around without blatantly stating they are the common 'undead'. Giving them more likeness to Amalgama and other created beings.

In other words, the IC of Dullahan/Lich/Vampire sounds really iffy to me. BUT if they were similar to Amalgama/Chimera/Salamandra/Mechanation, in which they were created by someone, that sounds much more appealing, ESPECIALLY Dullahan specifically.

I could not disagree more, please do not run every supernatural race through the Korvara safety cookie cutter.

I find it kinda sad to not want liches in the game simply because you don't "trust" players with it. I don't really "trust" the general populace for it either, but like there's already plenty of things being improperly roleplayed and/or not taken seriously at every turn.

In korvara, race is a meaningless concept, aside from a few characters that truly take it further (papilions are a good example imo). I think it would be nice to have some more interesting races that encourage roleplay in and of themselves. Even if some people might squander that, and even misrepresent these races, those can be dealt with on an individual basis, and measures can be taken to make people understand the implications and lore of what they're playing. In the end, what's more important is the rp that it will create.

It's extra content for the video game, sitting right there out of our reach...

This was part of the original launch FAQ, though it was excluded when the FAQ got moved to the setting page:
Quote:What races can I play in Korvara?
You can play any race excluding the following races: Vampire, Lich, Dullahan, Mechanation, and Zeran.

Because Korvara is an isolated island and is unaware of the rest of the world, Zerans (which are from Alstalsia) and Mechanations (which are produced in Karaten) are not able to be there. Vampires, liches, and dullahans are unavailable to avoid problems that may be caused by their conditional immortality negatively impacting the intended dynamic RP of Korvara.

At some point in the future after Korvara's launch, this may change.

with the way liches and dullahans have been played in the past, i'm afraid i share the sentiment that the general playerbase can't be trusted with not turning the races into a joke. ideally these races would be introduced in a limited capacity, maybe through applications or significant I.C. steps taken for said characters to turn into a lich or dullahan, not something you can just LE or create into. i'm all for having fun and slaying the haus down with the memes, but their lore is too significant.
