This is. Kind of a weird thought I had? And genuinely just a thought.
I like the prospect of the 'Reversi' scrolls, and have been thinking about Stats that would have the potential to have a 'Reversi' element, and people being able to take a trait to change what Element is tied to what stat-- and if you Reversi this, ALL of them are changed.
So Fire could change from being STR to.. say. LUC.
Sound could change from SAN to RES, etc.
It's just a thought experiment that has been bouncing around in my head, mostly for the sake of "I want to play a Bard, but also. I am a human and/or a Corrupted and get nothing/actively get messed up from having this comp."
Or, for the forsaken that want to play a Wind Mage but don't want to build CEL.

I agree with this, I would enjoy playing an evasive earth mage, or a lightning mage that their connection is more connected to their " resistance"

With more thought I think either a trait where you choose to swap two stats OR a trait to use an alternate element wheel entirely
Fire luck
Ice guile
Wind strength
Earth cel
Dark faith
Lightning resistance
Light san
Water skill
Acid defense
Sound vitality
Would be my go to full swap

I think these should be a trait tied to some sort of small drawback and be a specific swap, like logzy presented. You could also only pick one of these.
This would overall be awesome for the game imo, very cool!! Especially important for generally less used stats like san and fai, and also the damage stats gui and str when that's not what you're building (fire mage is historically suffering from this)

Having one or two traits that alternate the FULL set of ele attacks and stats to other compositions was my idea. Either shifting it 1 or 2 steps down (or up) is the idea i had.
Down would be...
Fire > cel
Ice > def
Wind > res
Earth > vit
Dark > fai
Water > luc
Light > gui
Lightning > san
Acid > str
Sound > ski
Whilst a shift up would look kind of jankier?
Fire > gui
Ice > san
Wind > str
Earth > ski
Dark > cel
Water > def
Light > res
Lightning > vit
Acid > fai
Sound > luc
I don't think the trait REALLY needs to have any drawbacks since it changes all of them to an alt scaling, rather than letting you "pick and choose"

Costing a trait in this world of increasingly good traits is already opportunity cost
I feel a hand picked list is better than just a shift up or down 2 spots
My thought process for my list was what stat would show resolve against the element

Luminary doesn't exist for Sound, or Acid.
Also it forces you to build WIL.
Which you might not have.

I do think that having a luminary for sound would be very great for the races that can't build SAN but want to bard.
I don't really like the idea of other elements changing much personally, but that's mostly because I just associate any wind mage will be a pretty fast person, or any earth mage a bit good on the defensive side. (Unless they're using Luminary.)
ICly, these elements are always tied to a characteristic the person might have and that has been that way for a long time, and I kinda like it.
Having said that, it is nice to be able to break away from that and have it come from something else, but I also feel luminary already exists for this purpose.
TLDR: It would be an interesting trait for sure, but given Luminary is already there, and these stats correlate so closely to the IC of people, it might be a bit jarring. (At first, with time I would get used to it.)
Anyway, light coming from Guile? Time to make a ST/MG Lucky Shell healbot.
