[Stat Usefulness] Get us a poll, stat!
#1
So, just out of curiosity, what does everyone believe to be the best stat, and why? Also, the second best, third, fourth, etc, all the way down to #9- the worst. Also, the poll's here for the stat you picked as #1- the best stat. Remember that this is for all-around, NOT for one specific class/etc.

#1: Skill (Damage for guns, to-hit, criticals, and helps with some skills). 5 out of 5 stars.
#2: Will (Skill slots and magic damage, and maximum FP) 4.5 out of 5 stars.
#3: Luck (A lot of things, but only dips its toe in them) 4 out of 5 stars.
#4: Celerity (Dodge, turn order) 4 out of 5 stars.
#5: Vitality (Maximum HP, helps with stuff such as Ether Invite, Rising Game, and works well with Wraithguard, shielding moves, etc) 4 out of 5 stars.
#6: Strength (Melee damage, carrying capacity (Which isn't that good to emphasize, but it still has it)) 3.5 out of 5 stars.
#7: Defense (Melee defense) 2.5 out of 5 stars.
#8: Faith (Small anticrit, helps with blessed, devotion, summoning) 2.5 out of 5 stars.
#9: Resistance (Magical defense) 1 out of 5 stars.

 1. #1 Skill. It's easy to get, can hit 100% growth, and doubles as both a damage stat and utility stat. Also gives you access to style blending which is basically one of the best traits in the game.
#2 Will. Damage stat with some utility tied to it. It can go over 100% growth and it's pretty easy to get.

#3 Vitality. Can't go wrong with a lot of HP. Anything that reduces damage makes this stat more effective and it can hit 100% growth.

#4 Celerity. Great at its job and can hit 100% but it's a bit of a niche defensive stat that's countered by autohits and prioritizing this tends to sacrifice def/res/vit.

#5 Luck. On classes that rely on crit, this is generally tacked on as a bonus and it doesn't need to be focused on to be effective. It can also give you access to lady luck which is pretty neat.

#6: Defense. Good at it's job, countered by guns and magic and generally comes with low cel.

#7: Faith. It's not a necessary stat but it comes with some pretty neat perks.

#8: Strength. Damage stat, not very effective because the average strength growth hits around 70%, the most you can get is 87%, and aiming for high strength restricts your race and class choices. While the other damage stats also restrict your choices, they at least hit 100% growth so there's no room for RNG to mess with them (so strength is basically unreliable compared to them).

#9: Resistance. Hard to get, charge mind reduces how effective this is, and you can get away with having low resist if you have decent vit and the right equipment vs a mage.
Quote:#3 Vitality. Can't go wrong with a lot of HP.

*bursts out laughing and leaves without explaining the 100% obvious fallacy in this statement.*
*loud burp*

#1: WIL ~ Mages' offensive stat also lets them melee effectively with classes like Monk, and even contributes to a Magick Gunner's weapon damage. More FP for everyone, so even a Kensei wants at least 15 WIL.
#2: LUC ~ More crits means more chainshells. LUC also contributes the most to your crit evade, which means less enemy chainshells against you.
#3: SKI ~ More crits means more chainshells. SKI also contributes to your hit, which can help you face off against dodgers who don't use VA in their build.
#4: CEL ~ Going first is very important, but not as important as dealing high damage. Thankfully, CEL makes Rapid Kick amazing, so CEL is also a damage stat. It doesn't help in as many ways as the ones above though.
#5: FAI ~ Easy enough to get, though not in any sort of plentiful amount. Every character should have 5 ranks in Devotion, which procs often enough to be valuable. FAI also directly increases your hit, through use of a blessed weapon.
#6: DEF ~ At very high base DEF values, such as 50 or more, it's great for PvE against most things, or PvP against... other Black Knights. Not Kensei, because they have Power Gradation. Good idea, but too many ways to ignore it.
#7: VIT ~ High HP can be very useful, though against certain things it can be a detriment. Poison was nerfed recently, though, so high VIT is only really a detriment against vampires and liches now, who can Life Drain 10% of your HP.
#8: STR ~ High STR is a necessity for melee. However, melee gets the short end of the stick in literally everything. Plus, STR has no 50% class to make it a viable growth option either, compared to WIL.
#9: RES ~ We are Lexy of Borg. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
