Pacifist Boon should prevent the infliction of the Brighten status effect on the mage casting the spell, because the bonus damage from being attacked while having it causes Pacifist Boon to break.

I'd rather just have it not break on bonus damage like the brighten reflect, and especially the lantern bearer raging flame

Pacifist Boon should only count for damage from attacks, skills or spells, not bonus damage or retaliation effects.
