I've had a bit of a kick on Free Skills existing. And then I went looking through all the classes for things that are, quite literally, "I need to have this" or more specifically, "I need this for my class to function.". This also includes some instances like Priest's Blackened Faith (which is a style change for the class)

As someone who passionately dislikes the skill slot system, I'm all down for this. Plus the obvious benefit of 'hey yeah this class has 2-4 things I need that all take slots but do nothing/little on their own' problem a few mentions have.

Free skills are supposed to be for multi-choice things, and shouldn't be a thing that applies to innates because innates cannot be equipped anyway. I think we should instead look at sp crunches and the removal of skill pool slots
