Evasive Woo-Tah [Evasive Strike thread]
#1

Simple and short:
- Can the damage be changed to 5 + (5% of your Fist weapon's SWA) per Rank?
- Can this also trigger on Evasion? (The "within 1 range" already exists, so)
- And, if you have Mixed Martial Arts equipped, it changes the damage type and SWA used to your main weapon's?

And then for balance and bug reasons:
- Can the damage proc work like Flottement's movement? (i.e Only happens after all attacks are made, and only once. This is mostly to prevent multi-hit dodging/evading from scoring absurd damage numbers.)
- And this be changed to Evasive Reaction skill? (This shouldn't stack with Flottement and other On-Evade skills)

Reasons it needs a buff:
- This passive skill costs 5 Skill Points to be at least useful.
- On top of it, 1 Skill Slot to be equipped.
- The condition for it to trigger is already solid. "On Evade/Evasion", which requires a pretty high stat investment. Evade is an RNG thing, and so is the condition for this to trigger, so it might not cause any big balance problems. If not, the buff should be welcomed, imo.
- 10 damage is way too "pre-GR", when enemy HP pools ae likely between 800 HP. Also, to give it a more "Take this to your face" feel. 10 damage is a tap to the shoulder, damage wise, and often laughed at.

I support this change as even when I don't even PLAY this class, just a 10 damage bonus is sooooo pre GR.

You actually made us turn our heads to a skill that nobody (almost) bothers investing points in. And the way you just listed your cards..

As usual, Kunai. +1. =w=

I don't mind a buff to Evasive Strike. No one really uses it unless they have nothing better to invest in, so it probably wouldn't hurt to give it some love. Just because MA is still meta doesn't mean this skill should be left in the dust, in my honest opinion.

This skill always struck me as unimpressive, even when I didn’t know about the meta. I usually shun this skill because of how situational and pathetic it is.

But, at least you’ll be able to do something better if it does get buffed.

A damage buff perhaps, but this skill should not apply on Evasion.

Seconded on both points, Monk is an extremely powerful class with a huge set of tools already. While no skill should be godawful, it's important to keep an eye on context when making changes.

Not even if it's treated as Evasive Reaction skill so it doesn't stack with things like Void Assassin's Advancing Flow and Duelist's Flottement? What about it doing half the listed damage if proc'd on Evasion?

This skill being required 5 skill points and you being able to dodge is why I feel like it should get a broader utility, even if it's at half effectiveness.

It's not like a Monk can evade your classic Borneblood Kensei/BK hit stacker anyway. I can't really imagine big problems this could cause if the damage on Evasion got halved. It wouldn't be doing more than a speculated 20 damage before triggering your enemy's Evasion if their dodge is also high.
And even if it does proc on Evasion, people can just step away/knockback you and spam crystal rose, cinders, magic, hexes, shoot you and do anything beyond 1 tile from you, as they normally do when seeing you're trouble in melee range. (See: How to fight Boxers 101.)

And let's not forget Cobra Stance's Snake Dancer making you backflip away from melee range if Evasive Strike attempts to hit you, making it the hardest counter to this passive skill.

If it proc'd on Evasion you'd have MAs deleting people who dared use a multi-hit attack in one range.

As stated, it could use a slight damage buff to be worth slotting/investing in at all, but working with Evasion would make it far too powerful.
