Can Ingrain be one of the few exceptions for healing penalty when it comes to Vampires? The youkai is called Vampiric Legume after all, it's kind of strange for it to not work with Vampires...

What they really need is a review on Stillness, Darkness, Silvermists and Sanguine Crest.

Band-aid ways around their problems is not quite the wei, bruddah.

Again, I don't really like messing with balance, especially for things that often teeter on the edge of OP like vampires, just for flavor reasons.
