Hello hello. This'll be a short and simple suggestion, but I'd like to hear people's opinions on it, as Dev mentioned that he's open to adding it to the patrion shop if more people took an interest to it.

So, with that said, what is it?

Why, I'm glad you asked! If the title didn't already give the whole idea away, it's basically just a custom icon for weapons. Not on items, mind you, but on our character sprites. Sure, one could argue that we all could put our special weapons out into the public for everyone to have access to it, but seldom few are open to that. This is an understandable thing, since I personally don't want my super special snoflake icon to be everywhere either, as that invalidates what I want to achieve; more variety!

Wouldn't it be just grand to see all our cool custom-regalia'd weapons on our backs/hips/wherever-you-put-your-weapon-but-hopefully-not-in-concerning-places? I personally think it'd be nice to see everyone showing off the icons they made/commissioned. 

You think it might give off the feeling of arrogance or pride? Maybe. But some characters in character are like that. And there is nothing wrong with having something like this, I think.

Maybe just an icon on the back part of the icon customizing mirror thing that we can customize and stuff.

So yes. TLDR: gib custom weapon icon sprites for variety and life and color and more 'hey that's a cool weapon you got there, where you get it' scenarios. Ty.

Not for this, because I'd argue it doesn't give less variety to have more sprites accessible to everyone. If anything, that's the opposite of true. With more sprites to choose from, you get more options for everyone, not just those willing to splash cash - and I wouldn't call it the good kind "variety" at all to have something locked behind money, either.

"Variety" shouldn't come from wanting to be a special snowflake. Plus, what's stopping you from using that to instead import literally any other thing that ISN'T weaponry?

I personally support this if it encourages the use of patrions and potentially more patreon members.

Seeing as how different games take this approach but have broken stats applied on to them, this just being cosmetic is fine honestly. I don't see why someone with an awesome looking icon they paid/worked hard for should be shared with everyone else.

This is literally the definition of Item Regalias. Mechanically the same as what's globally accessible but visually only for those who used a Regalia to set their item of choice to said custom icon. This is just taking the same exact principle but taking it a step further, ain't it? Technically, houses are a huge source of 'variety' but those are locked behind real money aka Asagos. Someone had to have paid for them at some point in most cases. Same with Patrions. Unsure of how/why this is an issue in your eyes in that regard.

How would you obtain variety in those regards outside of giving everything to everyone and then just having them mix and match a collection of shit together? Currently, variety is decided by characters/players themselves and the amount of effort they're willing to spend on the portable mirror right now as far as visual appearance goes in this regard.

Technically if you wanna be literal, Variety is the definition of being a special snowflake only the amount that you are is based on how much others share the same thread of whatever's being defined into the pool of "Variety". Do read above.

Secondly. GMs doing their job is what's stopping people. After all, what's stopping people from, y'know. Using Item Regalias to put their gear as dicks or something? Profile pictures to porn? So on, so on. Same as per usual. Since it's something of the visual kind, someone'll report memes/illegal things like always and otherwise, there's not much of an issue.

Thus, once again, i'm all for this since we're already in too deep either way and there's not much of an issue with having this feature tacked on to the already existing principle.

I support this for the reason that it would not only add more cosmetic options, but also lure in more Patreon members for the game when you add nice visual things like that. People tend to be fans of aesthetic.
