Hello. I have opened my first house for the public. A library space where you can RP with your friends about books or just come in group and get yourself cozy at the story corner to tell stories between yourself.
There's other thing that will come along the way, as well as real books you'll can actually read.
Not for now however, so everything as to be fluff for the moment.
(Keep it mind this may take a lot of time to gather everything, thanks for your patience)
The house is situed just on the right of the Artist's Inn.
You are free to visit at anytime.
Thanks to whitender for the big help
Any update one the house will be reported after the OOC notes

Maha Khello - Ability Interpretation / Unique Spell Catalyst |

- Replies (4)

Applicable BYOND Key - RoboCat
Character Name - Maha, Khello (Hardlight Harbinger)
Request Type - Ability Interpretation / Custom Catalyst
Request Details - The request is for permission to roleplay skills, attacks and spells of the earth element as attacks formed with electromagnetism. Everything needs an extent, and I was hoping to have it basically be a toned down version of Misaka Mikoto's electromagnetism abilities from the anime/light novel; A Certain Scientific Railgun. I.e. forming crude weapons from metallic particles in the dirt, slightly reducing the momentum/impact of metallic weapons to represent the defense gained from the defense stat, sticking to stone/metal surfaces etc. I have a link to a wiki page with examples of what sort-of abilities would be toned down and roleplayed on-hand. It would be done through a set of glove catalysts.(it's a regalia'd Morganite-Head Staff)
Reason why you are making this request (if applicable) - I'm making the request because I would not like to go through the shift in my character's previously established skills and proficiencies to use the build that I have just switched to. Also, because it'd be really cool to eventually pass the catalyst onto someone else more fit for it later down the line.
Roleplay & Lore supporting your request - My character has effectively been a bootleg magitech engineer and magician since his conception. This has even been to the extent of hurting himself in his pursuit of new ways to enhance and use basic magical equipment and abilities. Having acquired some new and high-end equipment, he's become even more invested in getting the best out of his equipment and pre-established abilities. This is icly leading directly into the culmination of the insight gained from watching the creation of his new equipment and the wisdom he's getting from the various spars he's been partaking in. The electromagnetic spells would be performed through an effective upgrade of the last two types of catalysts that he'd jimmy rigged to fit his fighting style.
For more context, the combat skills that he is proficient in are the use of shotguns, magic shells, karate, lightning magic and dark magic while he's currently advancing better ways to use light magic with light(mostly mercalan) magic being something his race is somewhat proficient in(He's an elf). His first real attempt at trying to enhance his karate with magic were some basic gloves to shock the people he struck, the gloves also shocked their user. He eventually got some assistance with altering them into a safer form that worked for releasing faster, but weaker versions of the basic rye spell. From there, he moved to basically repeat the process on his own but with gloves for ice and eventually fire in hopes of selling them. While the selling part didn't go so well at-first, he did manage to branch off into larger projects from there, namely altering defensive equipment in a similar manner(it was just a more magic-resistant body-suit. That led directly into him basically putting two and two together with the gloves and the suit to avoid hurting himself.
After a while of using that with his guns, he basically sold most of what he'd made to get a better suit and a custom catalyst(it's a fake eye that works as a catalyst for light spells) made. Given his tendency to mess with things, he's currently in the process of doing exactly what he did to the last suit to his new suit. Taking notes from how his new equipment is made is leading to him making a catalyst for even smaller and more efficient lightning spells that could take advantage of electromagnetism and help him grow closer to the full extent of his abilities.

Jammer Beta and you v2 (2.37) |

Jammer Beta is meant to stop retaliating with acid when struck by water damage.
Jammer Gamma's Redhorns ability has been found to stop this, testing was done while the Beta had 'Redhorns' already attatched before the water struck. Redhorns is only meant to increase defense and resistance of other jammer types when placed on them.

[Event] Ants: The Sequel |

Those ants, after the valiant effort of brave souls... were vanquished. Never to be seen again. That's how the story ends, right? No more ants...
And yet, sightings of similar ants have been recorded. Not as close as before, but they seem to be gathered around an old, abandoned facility. What that facility was for... well, perhaps that's about to be revealed.
A group is needed to rout these ants before they mount another attack. Perhaps this abandoned location is quite close to their nest... and perhaps it has something to do with their strange nature.
Well, who'd have thought I'd be here, in this new year, proposing to you another event about ants? I know the swarm was rough, so I'm taking what I've learned from running events so far, and making it a limited capacity event, teams of two or three- which would make 8-12 players, standard for my events.
The base plot, without spoiling what'll happen in this event, has been provided to you - in the interest of avoiding another attack, groups are permitted to take matters into their own hands with enough firepower, to quell the numbers that may be dwelling. But, that's not all - the bug squashing will come alongside a bit of investigation work, into this abandoned location... does it tie into this, somehow?
So join me, as you explore around, encounter plenty of bugs (probably not the game-breaking, mechanical kind, here's hoping) and help round off an overdue sequel.

Antags and you |

To start off, I want to say this is my first forum post ever in the existence of ever, so I'm sorry if it's terrible to read.
great. Now that has been said! Welcome to my first forum post! Ahe-ahe-ah-ah-ahem.
Antagonists! They're strange, aren't they? They exist, probably! But what does that have to do with you?
Well, I wanna bring up a simple question:
what do YOU want in an antagonist?
Do you want raunchy horror? Do you want thrilling action? Or do you just want more chances at character development outright?
Do you even care? Or do you just want some ding dang dong action that isn't the usual character conflict?
What makes an antag truly an antag to you? What makes it fun to play against? What would you consider not cash money?
If you had suggestions for people who WANT to play antags, what would you give them?
Do you like it when the enemy has puzzles for you? Or do you prefer it to be more action-pact with battles?
Do you like it when there's a damsel(or mansel) in distress? What would make taking part in fighting an antag worth it in your eyes?
These are all questions I ask you! And more! Really, I just want your opinion on Antags and what you as a player want from them
What I don't want this to be is an attack on people who HAVE played antags, or tried to in the past.
Don't use this post as an opportunity to attack other people.
(This was not made by a person who is in the process of making an antag, not at all, you're just reading too much into it, I promise)

So there is a ring on the test server that provides Tekagen when equipped. I'm wondering if it's possible to make it be an craftable item on the live. Like Blacksmith level 4-6 item or something..
While it isn't something that would be helpful in pvp or pve, It seems like is a really good RP device/tool. Especially for trainer/sensei type of RP.

Paladins or: How I Learned to Stop Needling and Love the Sword
While you were doing drugs, I studied the blade. While you were engaged in premarital sex, I practiced the blade. While you spent your months at the gym, I used the blade. Now that the demons are here you're all unprepared. Except for me.
For I studied the blade.
THE INTRODUCTION:
I'll try to keep this as short and organized as I may.
Now, for the real meat of the thread. Introductions and transparency are first; I've recently made a new character with a BK/Priest build. My intent with the build was, as I was pointed to, make a Mercalan paladin since the class combo is ideal for it. And while it sounds like it's completely feasible, the truth of the matter is that it is not. BK/Priest is not a holy soldier charging up his foes and striking true with a Mercalan holy blade. It's not about hurling light arrows about and warping to people with Hanging to slice at them while looking all badass and pure. A BK/Priest is nothing but a priest with armor hurling Holy Arrow/Needle/Holy Spark/Shine Ray over and over while standing completely still in their Sanctuary and Divine Showering you if you run away. And if you're that unlucky, Malmelo to rub it in.
The reason I was told BK/Priest was a horrible combo to deal with was not because it's a good combo, but because it's just about standing still, hurling the same 4 moves over and over with sheer DR/healing until you die. That is what I've found thus far from experience.
My aim with this thread is bring some awareness at the very least to how awfully streamlined BK/Priest is, and at the very most point out how painful it is to stat a tank basic hitter. I don't expect to get much achieved by posting this thread, but I want to hear everyone's opinions and hopefully throw a Hail Mary for a class combo that could really be fun to play.
What I care for, and what I hope everyone cares for when we're talking PVP setups is not which class outdoes which, which class counters which, if X is too OP or Y is too weak. What I care for is that builds are both PVP viable and fun to RP. What do I mean by this? A build is fun when you're both able to win and lose, not just lose constantly. And when you fight a fellow patrician roleplayerman, to be able to have that ammo to feed that RP by having a vast arsenal of moves and combos you can use to keep that RP spicy and come to a close but intense resolution at the end. That's one of the reasons I play this game, and it's one I sure as hell want to keep.
THE PROBLEM AND THE SOLUTION(?):
The problem with BK/Priest, as in a BK/Priest that actually wants to swing a sword around, is Hit. A tank basic hitting build doesn't have it easy, as they need to focus STR, SKI, DEF, RES, VIT and LUC. Six stats to focus on is already a horrible spread, and the sole reason I could manage it on a similar build is by tuning DEF and RES both down to 40 in my other tank basic hitter, which is suboptimal if you ought to really tank, even more so proc Stalemate.
BK/Priest currently gets by using either a Forgrint or a staff with good scaling to yield high SWA and spam light spells over and over with a shield in the other hand to mirror guard with that nice 1M left. It's just horribly unfun both to play and to RP, imagine how the opposing party must feel. You have autohit classes like Demon Hunter and Kensei just running around the place, doing fun combos and keeping RP fresh by keeping it varied. BK/Priest? None of that. Offhand a staff and keep a sword in your main hand? Sure, but why use BK then? You're not playing a paladin at that point. Lord forbid you're actually even using that sword at all and not just spamming light spells too.
So, what's the solution then? The truth is, I don't really have a proper solution. I'm not a big brained PVPer, as I've only recently learned to build properly and my wee babby brain does not fully grasp everything there is to the system. But my wee babby brain does grasp RP, and that's what I care about the most in this game. I care for good conflict, a good fight that makes me either win or lose, but one way or another be satisfied that it was super fun at the end.
My proposed, short-term solution to a rather larger problem is the following:
Rework the Shine Sword.
The Shine Sword is as thematically close to a Paladin as you can get. You not only get light damage added to your basics, but you also get the ability to invoke yourself into becoming a Shine Knight. You don't get more Paladin than that. The Shine Sword as it stands now is an... alright weapon, not too bad, but not too good either. It could be repurposed, however, into adding another style of play to the BK/Priest repository.
My first suggestion is to swap the scaling around or change it entirely. 35% STR 70% FAI would make the STR scaling not so painful to stat, or perhaps 15% STR 90% FAI (though you would be encouraging a lot of priestly shenanigans with FAI scaling that high). The STR bears too heavily on the weapon by making it so you're not quite able to build proper SKI/LUC if you intend to also use spells alongside it or any Curate/Priest skills with it, really.
The second and more important suggestion is to make it Spelledge, applying only to Mercana domain. You can easily remove the +2 WIL +2 FAI stats from the weapon and replace it with the Mercalan Spelledge property, or the 50% light damage if it's really needed. It would make it a viable weapon not only to stat for Hit, but to use it in addition to Curate/Priest skills and the like. You're making the Priest stop holing up in his roundstart tile spamming Sanctuary, light spells and such in favor of a more aggressive playstyle.
It's a quick solution to an otherwise larger problem that is tank basic hitting as a whole, but this little tweak alone could spawn an entirely new playstyle out of BK/Priest.
Why not Moonblade or Setsuna? Moonblade's scaling is slightly worse than Shine Sword's at lesser 65% STR, 35% FAI with a subpar effect. Setsuna has slightly better scaling at 50% STR 50% FAI, but the STR still weighs down too heavily on it and it's effect is... alright, I suppose. Shine Sword by far both offers a more fun playstyle by allowing you to transform into a Shine Knight for style points and that sweet little +5 stats.
THE CONCLUSION:
Or you can just, you know, not rework anything, leave things as is and call it a day. This is an entirely subjective post, seen from my perspective and not the grand scheme of things. Some haven't tried BK/Priest, some hate them, some love it as is, the whole deal. This thread is made with a quick solution in mind. There's a larger problem here that could be solved by a myriad of ways, but require far more effort and coding put behind them. Nevertheless, I would like to hear what everyone thinks about BK/Priest and the Shine Sword idea. Could be fun, could be not. Could be a PVP balancing mess, or maybe it does make BK/Priest a little more creative. I don't have the most PVP experience, so I trust others are more qualified to suggest better ideas.
Thank you for reading my ungapost.

Spirit Jar a bit too shaky [v2.37] |
Posted by: SolAndLuna - 01-07-2021, 01:28 AM - Forum: Bug Reports
- No Replies
|
 |
I'm not 100% certain if this is a bug or not, but based on everything else, it seems unintentional, at least.
This is a fairly simple bug, to be honest - The Spirit Jar's Stored Spirit effect wears off if you're brought to 0 HP in any fight, including spars. Normally I wouldn't consider it a bug by itself, it does exactly what it says in the description, but the Spiritualism trait also says that you lose spirits when brought down to 0 HP and those still remain after a spar.
Steps to reproduce:
- Equip a Spirit Jar (upgraded to at least UL 1)
- Defeat at least 1 enemy
- Get into a spar and get brought down to 0 HP.
This doesn't seem intentional, at the very least. If it is, I would like to argue for it to be changed just the same - it feels rather inconsistent, and it makes it rather difficult to use outside of PvE once in a while.

Skill Regalia/Recoloration |

I think it would be neat if we could change the appearance of our skills somehow, even if its as simple as recoloring them like Youkai, there are some people who like to fluff their skills as different things and I think the ability to recolor them will really add to that.
Such as with blue/purple fire, or blue/purple lightning, or fire/water/lightning flavored dark and light magic, poisonous or murky water for aquamancy, dark ice, the possibilities are pretty endless with even the ability to simply recolor those skills.
This would be a very good patreon/donation item I feel like.
