I figured this didn't really need its own thread when we already have this guide, but, I did it anyways. Go me.
I've noticed some people still aren't in the know as to how to make their .dmis for their face icons fit right. Sometimes it's just not possible, but, typically you should be able to fit a very reasonable amount of images into one .dmi of appropriate size. Now as to how it's done...
1. Use the steps posted in the guide above to gather up all your images into one .dmi.
2. Using an image editor (such as GIMP, already linked in the OP, which is what I use, so, I'll be referencing that) open the .dmi.
^Make SURE you have it to 'all files' or else it will not show the .dmi otherwise.
3. Next, we'll want to reduce the file-size to something the game will actually accept. To do this, you'll want to try indexing the image (to my knowledge, it just reduces the colors used, generally makes everything take up less space). In GIMP--
4. Now just adjust the number you'll see here down. Typically you can lower it pretty far without seeing major changes if any at all, but, if the filesize remains too large, consider docking it down further. This doesn't work as nicely with pictures that have a lot of unique colors in them. Probably.
Make that number lower. I typically just dock it to like, 100. But in this case, I ended up going all the way down to 20 to get to the reasonable size of 123KB. The pictures were all black and white, though, so, results may vary.
5. Import the .png into an empty .dmi, making sure you UNTICK 'use size from file' and set the size to 96x96. It should cut the image into all the FIs you'd saved before, along with some blank squares and the tiny version of all the icons together. Just delete those ones. (The blank squares only appear when there's extra boxes in the full image).
That's what your options should look like. Importing the png is the same as importing any other FI at that point.
6. Rename all your states as needed, and, if the .png had a low enough file size, the .dmi should carry over the same size, thus, you should be done!
7. Some people like to use https://tinypng.com/ as an alternative once they've converted the .dmi into a .png. This is fine. Just remember to follow the steps to adding it to a .dmi properly afterwards. The site itself should be fairly self-explanatory, just drag the .png and watch as its file-size-reducified or whatever.
Blaze, Celsius, Sonic, and Bright shell's Overcharge effect deals unresistable damage, despite none of them saying 'unresistable damage'.
Chain Shell specifies in its Charged Shot effect that it deals unresistable damage, and it does not in its Overcharge, and it infact is resistable damage.
So my question here is: Why don't Blaze/Celsius/Sonic/Bright shell's descriptions specify this while only Chain does?
Know No Pain works against self-inflicted damage. This really needs to not be a thing.

... might I suggest perhaps making it so a door will be weakened after enough hits, to make it more likely to be bashed open on subsequent hits? I've had multiple instances lately, both in a party and otherwise, where no one was able to get past doors on the 5th or so floor of a BDP and we were forced to abandon it. And that's dumb.
So, with the advent of class-changes coming. I feel like this should be brought up once more. "Twinking". A term to give items from your level sixty, to your lower level character. A term that, whilst 'useful', is rather out-dated. It proves to do nothing but hinder people playing your game. It's like LEing to get perfect stats. I can understand 'no partying with yourself'. That is a fine addition. It stops people from grinding themself. Instead it now forces people to grind with their friend who has a grindmage, which in turn forces them to owe a favor and return it later on. Painfully dull cycle when you could just grind yourself, but whatever. You don't want it, you got it.
What isn't cool is grinding for items on your grind mage, to get an item for your Not-Grind-Capable Character. To get your level 60 swordsman that AMAZING TARNADA HE NEEDS FOR HIS BUILD. Except that now that you have it on your grind-mage, you can't get it to your other character without belligerent abuse of the system in attempts to get the item over without anything going off. It's a fruitless system that serves to do nothing but cause points where people groan as they get an item and trade it to someone else. I'm fine with items being restricted by level. Restricted by gold. What have you. I just know a ton of the community is kind of annoyed with it as a whole.
Hell, some newbie asked earlier if he could give his items (a crummy sword and some low level armor) to his alt because his main had died and his brother was going to be adventuring and played now instead of him. His reaction whenever we had to tell him, "No. You can't trade with yourself whatsoever. No items can be transferred between characters because of an OOC ruling." He was outright confused with "Roleplaying mandatory" being limited harshly by an OOC ruling to attempt to 'manage' people trading items between themself and the like.
This ruling really isn't okay, and honestly? It needs to see change from the current state that it is in.
Moonlight Mercy's UL count is screwy. I gave mine a UL of 5 and the critical damage did indeed increase, but after I gave it more, it doesn't increase the critical damage at all. I shot it, it did damage on critical, I upgraded it again, and it kept doing the same damage. I got to the point of shooting it, and recording the damage each time I upgraded it. I Upgraded it by five and again, the same critical damage. It did little increase the damage at first but after upgrading a lot more, it doesn't increase. I have a suspicion that only Power gives it UL but I cannot confirm that. I still can't get it to give more critical damage +UL no matter how much I upgrade it. This was tested on level 1 jammers.
With the new floor-clear indicator message, I think it'd be nice to have a message for when a boss spawns, is present, or dies in static dungeons, akin to the one printed on entering a floor devoid of monsters.
It'd make hunting down bosses in static dungeons a bit less of a pain, since there'd be no more wild goose chases looking for a boss that hasn't spawned yet.
This post will be outlining a roleplay reason for this change. And yes, disclaimer, I've just been waiting for the right time to talk about this so I don't come across as a broken record and annoy everyone, because I've brought this up before.
A post about the "omfg freaking please" purely gameplay aspects was made months ago here.
Basically, due to the FTA mechanics, Phenex are stupidly fragile in RP since anything that deals damage has a chance of "killing" them and triggering their ability to burst into flame and be revived instead of dying. A friendly, nonlethal spar sees Phenex erupting into flame with a simple tap. While this could easily be treated as just getting your second wind, the issue remains that if the fight DOES suddenly turn lethal, you cannot trigger your FTA later when it's actually your life on the line, which is dumb.
A few examples that have personally happened to me over the past two years:
- Being accidentally killed by my own sibling in a sibling rivalry scrap.
- Being accidentally killed by my own lover for suggesting something stupid as a joke.
- Accidentally killing my own sibling while trying to pin them down while they were mentally unstable and trying to escape to do who knows what.
- Completely canonically dying in a "nonlethal" spar since CM Vydel ("nonlethal" my fat hairy ass) + being reborn from flame and ash = scattered too far to reaistically work. (Yes, I have 4 canonically dead characters.)
... and so on. The first two were due to the old "full FP" mechanics and not actually using any skills because not wanting to hurt the sibling or lover, though.
For the love of helondis, make it a toggle. Simply being knocked on your butt shouldn't make you erupt into flame (and wasting all that FP just to immediately die again anyways when in a position that you cannot immediately escape from, like Sear tiles, or if surrounded in PVE.)
