I'm sorry, but I don't know what sort of details I should give.
I summoned Shine Knights and had another player, in a one-on-one PvP battle, use a Basic Attack on me. The weapon was a sword, I believe, and they were in melee range. The Shine knights were both adjacent to me and not to her, but Protect successfully activated and redirected damage, as well as the knockback effect from Repel, I believe.
I summoned Shine Knights in a Black Beast fight. I was alone in the party aside from the Knights. The Shine Knights were adjacent to me but not the Black Beasts, and when they used both their basic attack and their Black Roar, neither triggered Protect or redirected effects, such as Fear.
If needed, I can provide screenshots of the different conditions in which Protect worked against other players, but not against monsters. I can also try against the spear-wielding Goblins to see if it's a weapon-type issue?
