[3.01f] Blessed On-Hit
#1
The SR*3 damage dealt from the Devotion subtalent Divine Sign applies on what appears to be all instances of damage, rather than just basic attacks.

To replicate:

1.  Equip a blessed fist weapon with a maxed out Divine Sign talent.
2.  Equip Verglas, and spec into all the passives, Create Ice Point, Ice Point Guard, and Rapid Kick.
3.  Get into a combat with an undead enemy.  Create an Ice Point, use Ice Point Guard, then rapid kick the enemy.
4.  Note that 6 instances of Light damage trigger against the enemy.

Quote:Ren Brown used Rapid Kick.
Spectre takes 24 Ice magical damage. (Rapid Kick /  Ymir)

Spectre's invocation was broken!
Weak! Spectre takes 22 Light magical damage. ( Ymir)

Just about every skill that uses the blessed weapon interacts this way, though only a few trigger it multiple times, such as:
  • Rapid Kick (6x)
  • Roundtrip (2x)
  • Razor Rune being shoved (1-5x)
  • Wind Slasher (2x)
  • Exgalfa (6-8x)
  • Needle (5x) [The on hit light damage triggers the needles]
  • Photon Rose (4x)

I'm sure there's more, but going through every single attack in the game is difficult to do in a reasonable amount of time.

Blessed's "On Hit" is using the same "On Hit" as Chivalry/Dizzy.

Dizzy is "attacks that hit".

Chivalry is "when hitting an enemy with an attack from their front".

Divine Sign is "Basic attacks deal x on hit".

To me, the only non-ambiguous one seems to be Divine Sign.  None of the things I listed are basic attacks, so it seems counterintuitive that it would use the same attack logic as the other two.

so when bladed soles does this its intended with rapid kick, but we can't let this be good?

Blades soles specifically says kick skills, not 'on hit.'
If everything 'on hit' applied to all damage types, then you'd also be allowing Elemental augmentations and weapons +50% Elemental attack damage to apply to all your skills, which gets very goofy.

Its worked like this for 2 years, and has been in discussion been understood as "the way it works" this isn't a new interaction that has appeared out of the blue and just slapping "bug report remove it" and not having discussion on it as a balance change is disingenuous.

It says Basic Attacks only, if the wording is not just out of date, then this would be a bug.

I never tested it on non basic attacks because it plainly said basic attack only. Sometimes things can be known and never reported, either because they like the power or because they just thought it was obvious. (Like black souls being twice as strong as they were supposed to be for years)

Just because its existed for a long time doesn't mean it isn't a bug, though.
Personally I miss old holy and wouldn't mind this staying as an actual punishment to everyone loading up on spirits, but its definitely a bug.
