I don't disagree that higher tier bombs should be a thing in the future, but they shouldn't completely invalidate the current ones we have at all; in fact that wasn't even the point of the thread itself. Your smart attitude towards my explanation is entirely unnecessary.

And I'm not saying I think nothing could/should be done about the current bombs. I just wanted to make sure you weren't dismissing the idea of new bombs over something silly. SKI scaling is also fine. If we're sticking with the current bombs however, I don't think that modifier should go too high.

The OP stated that in my opinion they should be unresistible all around so also monster bombs would be affected. They'd still do a decent amount of damage without being OP. But right now they can easily be ignored or shrugged off.

Also, even if you disagree with my idea (which doesn't change Dev's decision on the matter, so if he wanted a yes or no that's his decision), doesn't mean you can slap a sarcastic remark behind me because you think it's cool or because it's funny. If I disagree, I disagree, there's nothing wrong with that.

If you have another suggestion not related to the OP though, you can always make your own thread.

This still wouldn't be helpful to player bombs (because most players start with 7M), but I do concede that it may help monsters not suck with them. The problem here is that to a player they still would not be worth the momentum spent.

I never said I think it's cool or it's funny, and I never said there's anything wrong with you disagreeing. I was calling your reason into question. Don't be so defensive all of the time, it's not healthy.

The reason I brought it up here was because it was already suggested in the thread. I was voicing agreement to something, and my agreement is no more of a problem than your disagreement. The topic as I saw it was "Bombs", and by the context and tone of the OP I viewed it as a topic about improving bombs. I guess I got it wrong. That's really all there is to it.

We can still have them deal non scaling static damage, just provide higher tier bombs that do more damage. We could have the stronger ones craft only and need better materials to prevent low level people chucking them around.

Because anybody with a red letter or enough fire resist could easily invalidate them and they'd make normal bombs useless. This is more of a suggestion to make the PvP / PvE element more useful, instead of trying to overshadow it with new shiny things.

That's why I suggested adding different bomb variety, it's right there in the part that was cut off from the quote.

Poison bombs, elemental bombs, ones with larger blast areas, ones with longer timers, the list goes on.

Yeah, but even those won't give good damage if they end up like the bombs we have now. The point is, bombs in general suck, and should be focused on before the next shiny thing comes out to overshadow it.

so yah, makin bombs scale with skill
we should do that.
every melee class except verglas gets 30%+ skill which is good. This means just being melee gets you some decent bomb damage and the only ones that don't make good use of them are mages and that's something I think we should aim for (do you want LBs to throw out stronger damage than they would normally have cuz we made them scale with level? cuz I don't)

I also still recommend adding more blast radius to have them increasingly useful; or perhaps such a feature could be added in bomb type varieties if thats ever added.

But thus far, I agree with it. The bombs should just be in some manner scaled with skill. You probably had to make the bomb in the first place (to an older arguement against that) unless there's some mythical land to buy bombs from which I never have heard nor seen. If not that, at least buff damage, or even lower the momentum cost if not buffing them at all. At least then it can be used in some manner decently effective maybe.

Bombs. This world needs more of them, whether better quality blasting or more variety. It just needs -something-.
