  Life of the Scavenger
Posted by: Fern - 02-19-2021, 06:49 AM - Forum: Adventure Log - No Replies

ENTRY 1

Several years ago...

"That 'pure-hearted care' for others, that willingness to bend your back for someone... it's going to get you killed..."

"Julia."

I look into my sister's pained eyes as I feel a knot in my throat. Her sobbing is like an agonizing song to my ears, I couldn't stand seeing her get like this every time his miserable face decided to berate her for seeing the wrong thing.

"It's... alright. I can understand not wanting to look at someone like me. Compared to you, I'm very stupid. I'm always dragging you down, Civerd..."

She smiles at me in a way that wouldn't convince anyone with even the slightest awareness.

"Come on. You need to rest."

...

We were born as Oracles and much later on made consultants by a wealthy Zeran. It was a financially efficient source of income, but not the most pleasant one. After all the guy was an absolute asshole that thought having a pair of stupid horns made him more valuable than any creature in the world. He would always try to use us to figure out the best plan for his next move, and where he should and shouldn't spend his money. What kind of people should serve under him, amongst many other things that would benefit him.

My sister was very beautiful, with long light blue hair that extended past her waist and emerald eyes that could make most men get lost in them. But the way she saw herself was like someone that had no place, no worth and no meaningful purpose in existence. In other words... she thought she was trash.

We both had visions, whether we liked it or not. But what she kept seeing was very inaccurate, or otherwise not helpful to Curtis. My future sight was either very lucky or very capable, allowing me to witness many circumstances that turned out to be very precise predictions more often than I'd expect. I wouldn't know if either was actually the case. I just knew I hated it.

Because nearly every single time I got something right, it was something wrong for her, and it would make Curtis look at her like she was the most useless tool he had ever seen. He didn't treat us well in general... us Corrupted were only defiled beings in the presence of his so-called "gorgeous" blessing after all.

We were often seen as freaks, not just by him, but a lot of the people we encountered on the way. Despite that, some others tried to convince us to abandon Curtis and join them as their consultants instead. But none of them looked any better an option - they looked like they were worse. And knowing the Zeran we serve under, we're not exactly in a position to leave him. He'll just try to take us back by force, or worse, punish us.

This is hell we've ended up in. And there's no getting out.

...

"Useless pig!"

I arrive to Curtis' room and find my sister crying on the ground. A shiver runs down my spine once I notice a bruise on Julia's arm and I move over to her, getting on my knee and pulling her close.

"He did not make an excellent bodyguard! You said that I could get an excellent bodyguard that day, and yet the fool ended up stealing my gold rather than protecting it! Get out of my room!"

Curtis' turns away from us after raising his voice and begins marching away. I attempt to reassure Julia that everything will be fine, and take her to our room as soon as I can.

"Julia, I--"

"Let me go..."

"Of course I won't, he hurt you!"

"Civerd."

My eyes widen as heat rapidly fills up my head. I can feel the sweat running down my face.

"You are really amazing. You have always been able to plan ahead for so many things, you know so much about the world and things I don't really understand. It's no wonder that your future sight is the way it is..."

No, you're wrong...

"People like me only tend to get in the way of those that are special. I wanted to make people smile, not hate me. I want everyone to be happy."

"You can't please everyone, Julia. Curtis is just a rotten bastard--"

I'm unable to finish what I'm going to say, stopped by my sister's dim eyes looking at my own. She gives me one of the most vacant smiles I have ever seen.

"You're so smart, brother. I love you."

I grit my teeth and wrap my arms around Julia as waterfalls begin streaming down my cheeks, spending a silent night with my only family.

...

"CURTIS!"

I kick down Curtis Alden's door and stomp my way towards him. My head feels so hot, like it's about to explode.

"What do you want? I am occupied."

"She poisoned herself!"

"...What?"

"SHE TOOK HER OWN LIFE!"

He quietly stares at me with wide eyes, blinking a pair of times before shifting them towards nowhere in particular.

"Well, it doesn't change much. She hasn't really offered me anything sensible. I supposed I should've expected that from someone inhuman, though."

His words dig into my brain like drills. I feel my chest burning and my entire body sweating as my teeth grinds against itself, my eyes remaining locked upon the garbage standing before me.

"...CURTIS!!!"

I need to release this feeling inside of me. I need to get it out... I need to make him understand everything she went through. I need to make him pay for everything he's done.

I charge straight towards him only to be pulled back by one of his more formidable guards, restrained by a mighty force while hopelessly trying to break free.

"Iahsus must be causing a tantrum. Get him out of here."

I'm forced out of his mansion against my desire to break his skull...

Julia, I...

...

I stare at my miserable reflection in the water, sitting alone in the park at night as rain falls upon me. Memories of the moments she has spent with me barrage my mind and instill my soul with unforgettable pain.

I hate all of them. Every single person that frowned upon our existence for simply being born different, every single one that thought they were any better for us for being 'blessed' by some stupid god. None of this would've happened if those imbeciles never ridiculed her image. None of this would've happened if I found some way to escape that nightmare of a monster with her...

If only I could do something about it all...

"Hello."

A man with an umbrella smiles at me.

"Who... are you?"

"I am ██████████████. I have heard of your misfortune, Civerd... it is a shame."

I don't even know this man.

"What do you want?"

He chuckles.

"I'll be straightforward. I've taken note of your potential as an Oracle and would like to see if you're interested in lending me your aid."

"Aid...?"

"Yes. I would like you to be part of Strega. We seek to erase divinity from existence."

I cannot fathom how a man like himself can suddenly approach me and say something like that in such a straightforward manner. I don't understand...

"Erase divinity...? Are you insane?"

"Perhaps. It is a long-term process, you could say. We will create a large organization that will attempt to seize the Sigrogana Empire and utilize it as a starting point to begin attaching the other nations. Once we've gained such might, we will show our power and force the others to cooperate. All non-human, non-corrupted races will be eliminated so that we may weaken the source of power behind the remaining gods."

I cannot believe what I am hearing.

"Genocide...?"

"Correct."

"But... what will you do if the empire can't be conquered? They're a ridiculously strong force."

"██████████████"

My eyes widen as I hear such revelation. I take a moment to process everything I've heard until this moment.

Back then, I wouldn't have had any reason to think about any of this. But all of my family's misery... my own suffering has been caused by those blessed by divinity. Those that haven't been tainted by some unknown force that renders you susceptible to the Hanging Star's whims.

My hatred for such scum has immensely grown ever since. Curtis was the match in the powder barrel. This is a chance...

A chance to get back at all of them for everything they've done to me. A chance to spit at society and everything it stands for.

A chance to release this agonizing emotion inside of me...

"Well? Will you join us?"

He keeps a smile and extends his hand. My hands curl up into fists and shake.

"I..."

A few days later, Curtis Alden was found mysteriously dead in his room, with a sizzling stab wound made by an attack that struck his heart.

OPERATION BP

IC INFO

Some townsfolk have talked about a Black Falcon information leak mentioning the idea of beginning "Operation BP"...

Even though no one seems to know with certainty what the operation entails, it heavily implies that the terrorists will take some kind of action against the empire once again, causing many citizens to become afraid of the thought. Stress has quickly begun filling people's minds, left in the dark about the details of what the violent terrorists plan on doing next.

A small amount of people seem to think that it might be another attack directed at the guardsmen stationed in the Nameless Shrine. However, evidence that confirms this to be the case has yet to be found. Black Falcon activity has been on the low for some time now, which has raised alarms for some fellows.

It all sounds like it would get quite dangerous if it was true, that's for sure.

  Nevarious Riff (Electric Axe's potential)
Posted by: Snake - 02-17-2021, 09:52 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (6)

Nevarious Riff's second use is not doing any significant damage for how much it costs to use in terms of Momentum (3M to prepare the buff, 4M to use it for damage, basically a whole turn) and FP (thanks to Action Repeat changes, 15 then 22 for a total of 37 FP), given it doesn't ignore protection nor Evasion, the damage is kind of tiny. But I also believe it shouldn't ignore any of those because it hits all foes regardless of distance.

My suggestion for it is simple. Can its damage part also scale from Sound ATK? So it ends in something like this:

Quote:Nevarious Riff

Plays a riff off the guitar, surrounding you with electrical bats for 5 rounds. While active, attackers will take Lightning magic damage equal to Electric Axe's UL if they hit you. You can reactive the skill to send the bats flying at all enemies, ending the effect but dealing Lightning magic damage equal to your Sound ATK + Lightning ATK + Electric Axe's SWA.

The weapon's potential's design alone is awesome, but I believe Sound ATK influencing its damage will be as thematic while serving to make it worth the whole 6M invested to use it. The damage it does currently is shy for its massive momentum cost, added to no longer benefitting from the lightning retaliation.

  RP Traits.
Posted by: FatherCrixius - 02-17-2021, 07:22 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (13)

These should be 'only negative' to prevent there being an epidemic of certain traits, or mechanical favourability of others. I would also like to see traits that are expressly negative, be always available and never take an unlock point to aquire- Allowing for players who utilised all their trait points to still buy into the feature.

-Diseases, these would help add to world building if done right, and could sell the Mercalan is not a catch all treatment that it is described as in lore. These could, for instance, increase poison damage or reduce specific stats; though the more original / less mechanical the effects the better.

-Physical disabilities / Limb loss. These could offer narrative permanence and could assist players in selling their characters better. Little things like missing fingers adding a small but direct loss to skill and strength, to missing an arm - Permanently removing two-handers / steady's effects until a followup trait is taken (Such as a prosthetic arm). The more indepth a feature like this, the more I feel players would be able to derive. The currently existing injury system is far too shallow, and even more temporary, often serving more as a grinding inconvenience than an actual mechanic imo.

-Curses. Cursed blood was an interesting addition, and it's interactions with ghost especially was an honestly nice tie in to the thematics of the class. I would like to see this expanded on, with more permanent cursed and hexed traits that could offer Hexer some fluff / fantasy power, and contribute to overall worldbuilding.

-Divine punishment. God specific traits that relate to the god offended, say an adventurer desecrated a shrine or did not follow Kaelenesian customs. It would help to bring relevance back to most gods, rather than them being a purely mechanical entity as they are now. Offending Glycon could result in HP regen being negated and being prone to disease, whereas Zera could make a person anxious, and being more prone to being critically hit, for rough examples.

-Age as a trait, allowing players to decide when their characters 'Peak' and when they start to decline.

These are just some spitball ideas, and I'd love to hear more.

Smile Town Map for Lispool
Posted by: Blissey - 02-17-2021, 04:41 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (7)

Hi! A lot of players (including myself) have wanted the Town Map in Lispool for a bit now. My recommendations for the Town Map would be:

Mage's Guild
Asago Bank
General Shop (Aka the Buyer)
Stave Shop
Blacksmith
Inn
Cathedral (or Church, but the Church seems more like a Cathedral)

Thanks!  Smile

  [Black Falcon] Story Recap 1
Posted by: Fern - 02-17-2021, 04:51 AM - Forum: Adventure Log - No Replies

(This is a narrative recapitulation of everything that's happened recently with Black Falcon until this point, so you can OOCly be fairly caught up with what's been happening!)

A Kysei warrior's true love had been brutally slaughtered by an underhanded Imperial soldier, shattering his heart to pieces.

Despite the company of his only family, his soul never knew peace after that fateful day...

An attempt at letting the heart rest was made, unexpectedly leading to the disappearance of his identity, allowing him to resurface as a vengeful beast.

It has become personal to him ever since that fateful day. And now, it has also turned personal for many other warriors...

ARAEL SCHLAGER, THE CRIMSON KING

A highly famous criminal that once razed down Cellsvich. Recently launched a large-scale terrorist attack on several areas of the Sigrogana Empire with unclear intent, leading some of his enemies to believe that such assault was simply a set up for a greater ambition. Craves a revolution against the Sigrogana Emperor in order to take over his throne and gain acknowledgement for his kin, the Corrupted.

Deep down, his flame of revolution was only set ablaze by his immense feeling of revenge for his deceased lover, Aurelia Flores... an ex-bandit that died at the hands of an imperial soldiers many years ago. He is determined to take as many lives as necessary in order to avenge her memory, continuing this show of bloodshed until his revenge is fulfilled.

An ex-member of the Chataran King's Gambit, having served under the current Chaturanga Guard Leader before he became a mind-scorched murderer with claws. Arael was revealed to hold a grudge against the empire before his enormous change, a burning hatred that managed to not only survive after experiencing a Dark Zone's horror, but also became much more fierce as he lost himself. Throughout the years, he had been somehow found and convinced to begin the long-term process of creating the Black Falcon. Most of the poor souls that attempted to leak out the information of its origin were mysteriously eliminated, excepting a small amount that managed to survive.

Recent findings pointed out that Arael has a brother named Cornelius. No one is certain they've seen him, and some believe him to be naught but a myth, but some information suggests that he might be puppeteering Arael from behind the curtains... and that the Falcon's purpose might not strictly just be taking over the empire.

CORNELIUS SCHLAGER

A mysterious existence whose purpose has yet to be truly confirmed by anyone. He is rumored to be the founder of Strega, a small-scale group that assisted in the creation of Black Falcon and now monitors its actions. Profound investigation has brought to light that Cornelius does likely exist, and that conquering the empire is part of a long-term plan to slaughter the remaining gods. Cornelius is supposedly the one that convinced Arael to start the Falcon, and killed most individuals that tried to leak information about the organization in its early stages.

His current face is an enigma to everyone, if he does exist. It is well-known that attempting to look into his identity has led to dangerous situations for quite a few.

VARON FELD, THE HERALD

An armored individual with a skull-shaped helmet, hailing from unknown origins. Previously spread posters in mockery of the Sigrogana Empire and kidnapped two members of First Squad. Recently seen in the Graveyard of Law's End with Eifrat and Arael Schlager in order to welcome guests that sought to see their leader. His future plans remain unknown to many... but what is fact is that he is highly dangerous.

CIVERD CADDEL, THE SCAVENGER

A Raven Wing of the Black Falcon that had been sighted within the Nameless Shrine, chasing after an "angel" that was said to be interfering with the organization's plans. Scavenger's real name was revealed to be Civerd Caddel, one of two Oracle siblings that served under a Zeran noble named Curtis Alden.

Shortly after the noble drove Civerd's sister Julia to taking her own life, he was said to reunite with a red-eyed man before completely disappearing and eventually becoming the high-ranked member known as Scavenger. He is part of the Black Falcon's founder group, Strega, which is rumored to be led by Cornelius Schlager...

An agile, cold and calculating magician that tends to avoid battles unless he is certain he will not be defeated.

SABRAC, THE DARK ADMIRAL

A Shaitan victim of magical experiments that have turned his right arm into a bloodthirsty horror. Once upon a time, he was the leader of a battle force lacking a specific nationality located within an obscure island before becoming a part of Strega. He is an extremely passionate brute that adores the thrill of war... a mortal foe.

Last seen in Loyrwell Tombs having a meeting with Scavenger and Forneus, before being interrupted by a group that was spying on their conversation. Now he is chasing after a certain target unknown to many, for one reason or another.

FORNEUS, THE SANGUINE MAESTRO

A harmony of voices make up the knowingly poetic Raven Wing called Forneus. First seen in a mansion that once belonged to Antirn Dumis, a man that was eventually found mysteriously lifeless and deformed. Ghost stories were quickly made out of his death, discouraging others from taking over the blatantly abandoned mansion.

A secret area within the general vicinity was being utilized as a small experimental facility by the Black Falcon, which was found by a group that then encountered Forneus and his (now monster) lover, Cora.

He appears in many areas of the world, and it has been recently proven that he is a member of Strega, the founders of the Black Falcon. Forneus alluded to the Strega emblem being an inversed, black Hallowed Cross.

CORA

An abomination with a perpetually shifting form that's hard to make out beyond the morbid smile present on its face. Her horrifying presence was first witnessed in an abandoned mansion used for experiment grounds. She is a mutant enhanced by the effects of a Dusk variant known as Zero, a highly potent breed that rapidly ruins the user in exchange for greatly increasing their Altermancy abilities.

She was last seen in the Nameless Shrine after attacking a Felidae known as Keira and was battled by many adventurers, eventually exhausted by their combined strength to the point she fled away from them and the arriving reinforcements.

Currently roaming imperial grounds in the darkness, seldom catching travelers off-guard with her monstrous nature. A woman that is no longer what she used to be - a vivid, joyful memory.

EIFRAT

Screams filled the forest surrounding Voilegarde, attracting an interested group that found an experiment of the Falcon labeled Magusbridal, whose real name was Mercuria. She attacked the valiant warriors and was defeated, then secretly assassinated with a deadly poison crafted by a Raven Wing known as Eifrat.

Eifrat was last seen in the Law's End Graveyard alongside Varon Feld and Arael Schlager, and has kept her plans hidden in the shadows while those that witnessed Mercuria's death plot to take her down.

LEN MIYAGI, THE RED RIPPER

A high-ranking member of the Falcon. Previously known as an assassin with the title of Red Ripper, he was one of the leading attackers responsible for Cellsvich's previous destruction, and took First Squad Diego Gollwitzer's family captive once upon a time. He has been rumored to resurface with potentially new plans, and more than likely intent on settling the score with his Gollwitzer nemesis.

CASTIEL

A metaphorically angelic Heron that is said to have been travelling the world for years. She is highly opposed to the existence of Cornelius Schlager and has become aware that the Falcon may have more than meets the eye, occasionally attempting to guide brave souls that seek to defeat him. The Heron frequently avoids battle and shows melancholy at the bloodshed of war, but wishes for many lives to be saved.

Her reasons for her involvement have not been disclosed in profound detail to anyone just yet, causing people to distrust her while others genuinely find her to be a well-intentioned aide.

THE EXECUTIONERS

They are a powerful pack of Reaper experiments infected by Dusk Zero, a mutant breed of the black parasites that is empowered by fierce dark magic. The arcane enhancement combined with their natural Darksidian talent has proven to create a force that is quite capable. Dread may quickly spread across the area once one listens to the call of the executioner.

Spiritual guides taken by scientists of Strega... now turned into death incarnate.

VAREN ARYAN

A First Squad Imperial Guard that performed the call to arms and chose to spearhead the Empire Defense system in order to work together with adventurers against the dark wings. The Empire Defense has managed to catch the eyes of many combatants for differing reasons, and has proven capable of assisting against the terrorist force.

EIAEL AEYES

The origin behind the imperial organization meant to shield the Nameless Shrine from further Falcon activity. First Squad Eiael Aeyes has spread reassuring posters and ordered manpower to station themselves in the shrine's general area, causing Feathers of the Falcon to distance themselves from that area for the time being.

SEVEN

A Mechanation that encountered Scavenger in the Nameless Shrine with other adventurers and has participated in Empire Defense. After researching Scavenger's background and finding the truth behind the Black Falcon's existence, he has chosen to start investigation on other figures related to the massive organization. He is currently attempting to put together a plan to defeat the Strega Oracle with the help of his loved ones.

MIKI SETSUKO

A tailor and adventurer, didn't even know about Black Falcon before the event at the Nameless Shrine. However, she was there to witness the crime scene right after its occurrence and still suffers from the memories of the dead guards littered around. She had a failure of a fight against Scavenger in which he nearly broke her Mechanation assistant, Seven, and hurt her and many of her other friends. Afterwards, through Dusk infestations and having to kill infected people for their own good, she continues sparring and fighting to take Scavenger, and Black Falcon, down.

MANNY O'NIEL

Manny stumbled into an encounter with the Black Falcon at the Nameless Shrine and has been training to better himself ever since. He's got his eyes set on taking down the Black Falcon member known as "Scavenger" after being the first one to actually land a blow on him at the Nameless Shrine.

HECUBA

Because of the Black Falcon, a normally Forgetful Fire Mage has had the pain of destruction etched into their usually fragile memory. They know, however, that they cannot allow the Black Falcon to continue in their exploits - for maybe they'll make more permanent memories in the future, a future that they cannot allow to be ripped away.

AI NOTA

Ever since her first encounter with Scavenger - or the lack thereof, in her view - Ai Nota has been striving to find some way to make an effort towards taking down the Black Falcon. She's gone with taking down dusks and keeping her friends safe from them, as well as participating in the war and working with those more in the know. Although, deep down she's looking to stand up for - or maybe prove herself to - herself and her friends in some way, against Scavenger.

CERIN RACHAL

Spurred on by the surge in their activity, and enraged by the murder of Mercuria, a high profile defector from the group, Cerin Rachal, has emerged from the shadows again, beginning a personal hunt against his former comrades and their co-conspirators, starting with the one responsible for the murder of Mercuria.

SABLE CEROTA

Sable Cerota is hunting Eifrat first, but has a growing hatred towards Black Falcon, in part due to their actions, and also the countless spirits she's dealt with left behind by their slaughters, some of which have influenced her, even.

VIVIENNE DE ORLEANS

Her main objective is Eifrat's capture and interrogation, having secured cooperation of the Imperial Guard on it as well as covering her family's tracks and keeping them safe after being informed that her name has been passed around personally among the Falcon. Tense as ever about asking for the help of her allies, but will more than likely make the move and do so.

MAVIS HAEMIN

The High Priestess of Mercala, having caught wind of the most recent onslaught of Black Falcon terrorism on Sigrogana, made an expedited and decisive request to send in healer reinforcements directly from the Church. Successfully petitioning the Church to do so, she led various squads of highly-trained Mercalan Healers into the fray, keeping casualties low and fending off Dusks.

Furthermore, in an effort to restore morale, she led a restoration project to help revitalize the Peaceful Forest south of Cellsvich, a long-standing beacon of life and beauty for the continent.

TENYU

Seeing first hand of the social discord as well as the danger caused by the conflicts between the Sigrogana Empire and the Black Falcon, the young Oracle in red began throwing caution to the wind. Times are spent on recovery and endlessly trying to improve himself, hoping to provide a nudge of support should another conflict struck. No point in idleness while there is enough time to prepare for the approaching storm.

STRANGELOVE

Lieutenant Love was part of the group that entered Antirn Dumis' abandoned mansion and witnessed Forneus alongside Cora within the experimental facility. Shortly after the pair made their escape, the lieutenant was infected with Dusks and driven into a vengeful madness that led her to take a rampant approach against the monsters found in the area. Strangelove's heart burns with an anger-fueled vendetta against the Raven Wing and Zero experiment, deciding to capture... or kill both of them as soon as her blade is given the opportunity.

VELVET

A woman that has experienced the wrath of the Executioners first hand. She has become progressively more involved with the antics of the Black Falcon, having saved a Feather from the brink of death before the Falcon soldier met the Reaper's scythe. This henchman later deserted the terrorists and expressed his gratitude to the 'Diva of Despair', introducing himself as Brandon and occasionally providing information to Velvet with the assistance of a fellow traitor. Otherwise, he distances himself from the matter as much as possible, having managed to find romance and have a child.

After recovering from the Dusk infection and wounds gained from her group's visit to Antir Dumis' mansion, she made her investigations and became aware of Arael potentially being used as a puppet for an obscure goal. She plans on creating a full dossier on the terrorists, and may more than likely seek to try shooting the Falcon Leader's reputation with smearing tactics.

VICTOR ROMANOV

And so, the aimless piece of flotsam found the strength to grab on to something, and for the first time in his ill-begotten and worthless existence, decided to take a stand. A chance meeting in the shadows led to this dredge coming face to face with Arael Schlager, and it was in that moment of paralyzing fear that he found purpose.

Now that he's found a road to walk, he's determined to see it through to the end, whether he's ready or not.

NALTON PENDEAGON

After a fateful encounter with Varon Feld in the Law's End Graveyard, a man that has never felt any strong desire or emotion has suddenly felt a spark flame in his heart. His soul disagrees with the ideals of Varon Feld and the Black Falcon, demanding him to oppose their ultimate objectives.

JOHN ETHERBOUND

Despite John's misleading appearance, he has done his best to assist against the Falcon terrorists and proves to be more threatening than he lets on. His presence is appreciated by most of the fellow combatants that oppose Schlager's reign... but not many know who John actually is other than what's publicly known.

MAKSIM, THE BETRAYER

A Shaitan with a rich history tied into the Falcon.  In fulfilling his dearest friend's fondest wish, he earned the ire of the militaristic organization.  Long has he bode his time, long has he been fighting losing battles;  Even now, he licks his wounds and those of his allies after a grand failure.  Despite this, fight has not left his eyes.  Rearming himself at this very moment, with every fiber of his being, every moment of his thoughts is dedicated towards readying himself for a second confrontation.

The War Hawk is watching. He has waited long enough, and deigns to put an end to things, at last.

MOTHER

The mother of all Dusks and Falcon's deadliest weapon. It is currently unknown where such monstrosity came from, only that she is rarely seen accompanied by the leader of the Falcon. Mother is often described as a vile, sadistic bug-like creature capable of having emotion and speech, possessing an incredible amount of power.

It is only a matter of time until Mother comes out to play.

[v2.39] Missing Icons for Vampire and Wyverntouched
Posted by: Snake - 02-16-2021, 08:50 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - No Replies

Title may be misleading but it's merely a small oversight. At the moment, the new tail, hoof and horn additions (Wyverntouched, Hyattr, Omina and Reaper/Appertaurus) cannot be used by Vampire through magic mirror for some mystic reason of death perception.

The missing racial icons for both Vampire and Wyverntouched are those:

  SL2 Version 2.39 Update Notes
Posted by: Neus - 02-16-2021, 03:58 PM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

New Traits

  • Spiritual Tattoo (Obedience) - 10 FAI, Race with Natural Skin.
Spiritual tattoos infuse body and soul with certain refinements. -1% Maximum HP. Augment your Youkai contracts to make them more obedient, preventing Youkai from refusing Install requests or unsummoning themself (excluding lacking FP to maintain them), and granting them +30% status resistance versus Confusion. (Includes yourself if treated as Youkai via Install, etc.)

  • Sadism
To you, there's nothing better than watching them suffer. Increases the chance you inflict Wounds on enemies when dealing damage by 50% of its normal value, and upon doing so successfully, the enjoyment you feel restores 10 FP.

  • Reckless Rescuer
Someone's in trouble, there's no time to waste! Joining a battle mid-way grants +15 Scaled Weapon Attack as you bravely charge into the fray, but lowers your Phys. and Mag. Defense by 10% due to your recklessness. This effect lasts for 3 rounds.

  • Pious Upbringing
5 FAI, At least 1 SR in Prayer
Your early life was filled with devoted worship and prayer to a specific God. Upon selecting this trait, you select a prayer tool of the God you worshipped. You receive that prayer tool, and if you do not have a God, it becomes your God and your God Loyalty becomes 40. Praying also requires slightly less mental stamina.

  • Weapon Telepathy
    15 FAI, 15 WIL, 15 APT
You have a strange connection with weapons that allows you to hear thoughts and feelings projected by it, although no one will ever believe you. You will sometimes hear thoughts from your weapons. If you have Sentimentality (Weapon), sentimentality builds between you and weapons twice as fast.

  • Desperado Striker
    20 LUC
Don't bet against you when the odds are down; you've got so much luck it's pouring out of your ears. If you perform a basic attack with a weapon that has exactly 1 durability remaining, that attack will always critically hit if successful.

  • Animal Allergy
    Race with Natural Skin
Animals have always made you a bit... sneezy. Being near an animal-like race may cause you to sneeze involuntarily sometimes. If this occurs in battle, the sneeze may have a special minor effect.

  • Cursed Blood
    Race with Natural Skin
Your blood has been cursed by some higher entity or vile sorcerer, impacting your health negatively in some way, but making you poisonous to some others. Reduces your Status Resistance by 10% and prevents you from donating blood. However, enemies who drink your blood or absorb your HP have a chance to have a status effect dispelled. May also interact with certain blood-based skills in a unique way.

  • Serious Disposition
    15 WIL
Disposition trait (only 1 can be selected). It's just in your nature to take things seriously, giving you a mental fortitude against certain distractions, such as lust and second-guessing yourself. However, you are a bit more hopeless when things go bad. +10% resistance versus Charm and Hesitation. -10% resistance versus Fear and Silence.

  • Laidback Disposition
    15 WIL
Disposition trait (only 1 can be selected). You could be described as 'going with the flow' or even 'airheaded', giving you less whiplash in scary situations. But such a mindset also makes you easily affected by someone's charisma and give a lack of commitment to certain courses of action. +10% resistance versus Fear and Silence. -10% resistance versus Charm and Hesitation.

Balance Adjustments
  • Custom Spell Tomes - All have had scaling changed to 50% WIL, 50% Element Stat
  • Volcanic - Damage no longer ignores protection.
  • Anchor Edge - VIT scaling reduced to 10% (from 25%). No longer Immobilizes on Critical Hit.

Aquamancer
  • Refreshing Flow - Duration changed to 5 rounds. Aquae Crest effect no longer consumes crests.
  • Purifying Aquae - Now main class only. Aquae Crest effect changed to LV 6, consumes 3 LVs. CD time changed to 3 Rounds.

  • Poncho Mirror Shard courtesy of BIG GHST!
  • Adjustments to item updating (validating scaling and item effects, etc.)

  Eliminate
Posted by: Autumn - 02-16-2021, 07:54 AM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (4)

Eliminate is a skill that appears to be unfinished in its current state, for starters its an autohit in a class that rightly does not ever want to use them unless they serve a huge utility purpose (Such as with Vanishing Strike), given that daggers have really low SWA normally, and it consumes an incredibly potent and required resource, all (or half) of your void energy to even use it.

As it stands, with max void energy Eliminate roughly equates to 220% of your SWA, which is a big number, but dagger criticals often reach 2x multipliers, even going as high as 2.35x multipliers, so its actually not that much stronger than my basic attack, which can infer on-hits with twin dance or gain me momentum in doing so - Speaking of which.

The skill consumes the rest of your momentum on use, this means the sole usage of its airborne component, the gap closer is useless to a VA, as you will not be able to follow it up with anything else and will be left in melee range as a result.

I haven't mentioned that the skill has a sneaking usage as well which increases the damage, and while I do like that aspect, it requires some setting up to make work, while I am all for a VA setting up the perfect kill, the class doesn't have the SP to spare on stuff like this. (8 SP total if you want max eliminate + voidgate Rank 1 + Blind Spot)

And lastly the skill doesn't really have a very satisfying animation, this is supposed to be an attack on the likes of Checkmate or Ether Invitation I feel like, and instead it feels like two dinky little slashes which HONESTLY should belong to Fray instead.

I think this skill should be reworked into being a basic attack for starters, VAs appreciate basic attacks as they are the bread and butter of the class, and its only basic attacking skill still is cutthroat, I love the other components of the skill and I think that they should be kept in some way, so here is what I might suggest:

Eliminate:

-1SP Cost (similar to Checkmate)
-Becomes a Basic Attack
-No longer consumes 3+M, costs a static 3M
-Attacks twice for 50% Attack (This would be mitigated by armor twice)
-Damage increased by Void Energy% consumed
-Sneaking assures a hit/critical hit
-6 round cooldown, halved if the skill kills a target.

And thats all really, I've had a small gripe with this skill for a while, I'd love if it had the look and feel of something like checkmate, if it has to eat a main class requirement to obtain that I'd be down for that as well.

[Sigroganian Guard] Mustering at the Nameless Shrine
Posted by: MakeshiftWalrus - 02-16-2021, 03:20 AM - Forum: Sigrogana - No Replies

A small force of roughly twenty guardsmen are seen heading towards the Nameless Shrine, hauling carts with supplies, and tents. A good mixture of seasoned fighters, and capable people for sure, armed with the gear to weather the terrible odds they might face in their new duty. Additionally, for those unaware of the logic behind it, many posters are spread to deter worry, and to bolster morale in the people. it seems to be little else but assuring propaganda, although the troops are certainly real.

ATTENTION, CITIZENS!

Under order of the Imperial First Squad, Eiael Aeyes, these brave men, and women are to stand watch in the biggest hotspot of criminal, and dangerous activity in the Empire in recent time, and bravely do so, flying the red-gold banners of the Emperor. Should anything prove too difficult for them to handle, additional reinforcements will be called through signal flares, arriving first from the tangent stationed near the Badlands Arena, and subsequently from Fort Arjav in much bigger numbers.

The primary goal of these valiant souls is to squash the terrorists, and their abominations that decide to make use of the normally unguarded, sacred place. No more, however. The shrine, and its maidens will no longer need fear the dark wings looming in the distance, for the Imperial Dawn has come to shed light upon those whom dare tread the lands with ruin in mind.

Glory to the Empire.
