Amber Maria - A method of maintaining youkai longer
Posted by: SolAndLuna - 11-24-2020, 07:45 PM - Forum: Approved Characters - Replies (3)

Sorry for making a second one for the same character so soon, but I figured it was different enough that I should likely make it a different one.

Applicable BYOND Key - SoulOfLuna
Character Name - Amber Maria
Request Type - Character Ability (Creation of a tool to keep youkai summoned for a prolonged period)

Request Details - This request is for my character, Amber Maria, whether by herself or with the aid of other people, to find a way to make a "summoning field", either via use of a specific tool or as an ability, whatever is more acceptable. The field would allow a youkai to stay summoned with no strain on the summoner (or reduced strain, if no strain at all isn't acceptable) as long as they stay within range. It would (most likely) be limited based on the strength that a youkai is summoned at, the number of youkai that needs to be sustained, and the amount of time they are summoned (I am willing to work out more specific amounts over DMs if necessary). The field would have to be maintained with a spatial core, mana crystal, or other similar object, by drawing on focus from the environment, or any combination of the prior. It likely couldn't be relocated, merely created at a chosen location.

Reason why you are making this request (if applicable) - My character has made use of youkai for a long period of time now, along with a couple of others she is familiar with. On numerous occasions, she has required to call on her youkai for various activities for a prolonged period of time, with the constant strain likely getting pretty difficult to deal with whenever more than perhaps 2 youkai are needed for a longer period of time. In addition, due to a rather dangerous lifestyle, she has reasons to ensure that it's easier for her to both maintain a positive relationship with her youkai as well as have an advantage on the off chance someone chose to attack her home. As such, she would likely look into the possibility of creating something along these lines, assuming the rules of how summoning and youkai work don't interfere with it.

Roleplay & Lore supporting your request -

Lore: Based on what's in the game already, it is possible for a youkai to be sustained without even being contracted to a summoner, let alone drawing on focus from one - spatial cores maintain multiple youkai, on occasions stronger than even the kinds players can use, at full power. In addition, the possibility of absorbing focus from a nearby area has been established through several skills in the game, along with mana crystals or similar things. From my understanding, youkai can obtain focus from areas aside from their summoner, and in this case, said summoner would still be close by, so the range limitation of youkai disappearing wouldn't be an issue either. The only uncertain part of this that I can see is if being contracted to a summoner changes a youkai's ability to be sustained by sources other than their contractor.

Roleplay: Amber has been making use of youkai for close to a decade ICly, if not longer, learning various details of how they work, as well as speaking to and sparring against numerous summoners now. As a result, she has a thorough understanding of what youkai are like, and due to her experience as a Spellthief, she has plenty of knowledge about focus and various kinds of magic, as well. Should that not be enough, she would be able to look to other people to talk about the possibility of working together on its' creation.

(No RP logs, apologies. Worst case scenario, I could try to ask people that met the character to help with filling in some of the gaps.)

Note: Should any of this be an issue, I'm more than willing to talk and/or adjust details regarding this request. Worries of it being abused would be perfectly understandable, but I'm not entirely sure how much is too much, so I'm willing to work out exactly how powerful this sort of thing is allowed to be, if it is at all approved.

  [2.35b] Washing Away Hexer Poison
Posted by: Mr.SmileGod - 11-24-2020, 07:04 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (3)

Pretty simple deal, though I suspect there's more to it. Void Assassin's Wash Away can remove poison even when the target is under the effects of Menov's Fang. Noticed it in a spar, but I'd assume if that works, things such as Llunel's Decay and whatnot would also not work against Wash Away. If anyone wants to get a buddy and try to see if they can reproduce it, please do so. I don't have friends, so I cannot--

  Vampires and Mercala
Posted by: Perdition - 11-24-2020, 05:14 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (1)

Maybe a hot take/controversial one, but I honestly think Mercalan healing should be 100% for Vampires outside of crest. For those committed to hiding their vampirism and really playing into the lore of secrecy behind the race, it just completely gives you away when uses a mercalan heal on your team and sees you get a tiny number compared to others. Obviously, there's IC ways you can cover this up/explain it, but from an OOC and mechanical standpoint, anyone with a brain will now know that character is a vampire. Which, while people may not act on that OOC knowledge, it makes a potential reveal less impactful imo.

All that aside, it seems like the theme around the Vampire rework was hiding your true self until you actively use your powers. You seem to be otherwise a normal person, so with the power of the crest dormant it seems like allowing the full heal should be fine from a lore standpoint.

  [v.2.35b] Dry Ice
Posted by: JamOfBoy - 11-24-2020, 03:53 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (2)

This Frozen Fear bug will leave you with shivers!

Frozen Fear isn't a valid talis for aquarian domain spells, seemingly.

Pictured: Jam trying to cast Kel while Frozen Fear is deployed. Kel is aquarian domain, and Frozen Fear states that it's a talis for aquarian domain spells as long as they aren't movement. I tried casting Miu from it too, having equipped mage - no dice. Cast from me, not the talis.

I usually have aquaphobia on my offhand, but I tested this with it on main hand too. Same result. It's busted.

Legit Reviews, Seaside Seafood Snack Shack
Posted by: GFaceKillaXX69 - 11-24-2020, 07:52 AM - Forum: Sigrogana - No Replies

Man, don't you fuckin' love alliterations and shit? Hell, I do. Not gonna lie, it makes shit flow off the tongue mad easy you know? Sometimes I put a little alliteration here on a bar or two just cause. Not a lotta shit out there that got good names. The Seaside Seafood Snack Shack, it got one've the better ones. A bit long for my tastes. Maybe take out one word in there. But, aside from the alliteration this name do be perfectly describing the kind've experiences you're gonna have at what I'm gonna start calling S3-Shack for short.

The S3-Shack ain' one've them fancy ass restaurants or sit down places that folks go out to have a fine dining experience over. Nah nah nah, the S3-Shack is the kinda shit I've been growin' up with for years. Quick, easy access food at lower prices than average, fit for filling your damn gut if you don't got the time to cook it yourself, and when you on that grind trying to get yours, hell you know you don't got the time. The vibe you get when you walking up on the S3-Shack is sort've like if your favorite kebab place got itself a fancy-ass upgrade and was down with that tech shit.

You got a large variety of seafoods, prepared fresh every day in case yous worried about getting sick off of this shit. The cold shit, which in this case is the sushi, if it ain't prepared fresh in front've ya' when the shopkeep ain't manning the stall, it is stored in one've them enchanted chill boxes. As for the hot shit, which is all the other seafood shit that ain't sushi, well that's stored in a damn hot box, or well, edibly warm box, enchanted with nerifian magic shit. Now, some of you may be wondering what I mean when I say if the owner ain't manning the stall. Well like I said, this ain't your daddies kebab shop. This motherfucker's invested.

You see the machines they was usin' not only to cook the food but keep that shit preserved was Asago technology. Now those of you who know me personally know I don't trust them Asago motherfuckers one bit. At least when it comes to handlin' my damn money and shit like that. Still, from an engineering perspective which your boy's got his education and shit in, that stuff is mighty impressive for it's convenience. But because it's all Asago branded, them coolers and heaters interface with the weirdest part of the whole damn deal so far. The Asago mech robot whatever the fuck this shit is, thing. It's got a vaguely human-looking frame, and it says one or two things that it's supposed to say, so if you was making a scuffed as hell mechanation, it might vaguely resemble this shit. But that's where all the damn similarities stop. Never see it move out of one place, never see it strike up a convo. Hell it's got more real similarities to the machine I build for shits an' giggles than a damn Mech. But that's besides the point. Most of the time this robot ass motherfucker's the one handing service. Cause all food's prepped in the morning and preserved with magic shit the robot can handle sales like nobody's business.

Now some of you motherfuckers may be asking at this point, if the robot can just handle all the buying and selling shit, why the hell would my anti-social ass wanna ever go in when the Owner's in shop? Well I'm glad you asked John. Yes, I know it's you John. It's always fucking you. You see, for one thing... you get the food made fresh for ya'. Yeah that's right if the owner's there an' you ask 'em directly they make the food right in front of you so you can experience it as it was meant to be, right after it's made. Second, the service ain't bad. The Owner's courtious enough that it ain't offensive. I mean they ain't gonna give you the damn relationship you'd have with your favorite kebab stand or taco stand or some shit like that but they got the job done. Finally, and this was the most surprising thing I noticed.

They give you a discount if you order in person.

I checked the final price tag they was giving me versus the prices listed on the damn robo merchant and I found that my total was slightly lower than if I just bought it from the damn robot. I guess they appreciate when folks show up so they can show off their damn cooking skills. Hell, I ain't complaining. Murai saved murai earned, all that shit.

So should you go to the S3-Shack?

Hell yeah chief.

The food is damn good even when it ain't as fresh as it could be. Health standards are top-notch. Service is adequate. There are opportunities for discounts and shit. Honestly, the only thing that might turn a motherfucker off is the price. When I was comparing it to the old food stalls I used to get shit at when I was younger the comparison wasn't one hundred percent accurate. Those damn places was for people like me who was broke as shit. Like I didn't have no goddamn cash on me and they was so cheap I swore they were putting something I probably shouldn't be eating in the damn meat. As for this place, it's a bit more above board but cus of that it's got a slightly higher premium than drop-dead broke. For folks who got a low-paying job that gives em stable income, this ain't no problem. For folks who are smack dab in the middle of economic prosperity, hell they can eat here all they damn want. Rich folks, I know you bougie ass motherfuckers ain't down for cheap shit like this but give it a shot. And for my people, if you're really that dead-ass broke, save up for a treat. I'll tell ya' it's more legit than the crack dealers down the street yous eyeing up chief.

The S3-Shack is located South Side Dormeho, first stall east of the mages guild, right side of that stall. The S3-Shack is ran in association with Bravest Snack Stall.

  Unban Appeal for Stains
Posted by: levianaught - 11-24-2020, 07:45 AM - Forum: Unban Requests - Replies (3)

  • Game you were banned from: Sigrogana Legend 2

  • In-game name (key): Levianaught

  • Reason you were banned: Banned for walking away from a conversation that I believed was well over.

  • The length of the ban, if you know: 24 hours approximately.

  • Who banned you, if you know: I have no idea.

  • Why we should unban you: I don't care about being unbanned, 24 hours isn't a big deal, although it is rather annoying. The real reason I am posting is to 1: Explain what occurred in detail, and 2: Give my concerns on the abrupt manner I was banned.
So I was in Dormeho. A friend of my character came up to talk to me, and we did so at length (I am a lich by the way.) I have a book club I've created for my guild that I'm going to have a good number of players come and attend this Wednesday, about five people so far. Anyways, I was finishing my conversation up when another character showed up. They purported to be some guard (Can people be guards in the world? That makes literally zero sense to me. I am not aware of other players having 'authority' over other players. Sounds like severe favoritism if this is real) and that they were there to WARN me about making jokes. Literally they were threatening my character with jail time because I made some low brow, PG-13 evil jokes. My character, being an evil lich, makes dark jokes, but I have never said anything depraved, or actually EVIL. (Stains is more of a joking kind of evil, sarcastic type. Anyone who plays with him, literally knows this. This person who wanted to arrest me has and never will play with me again.) The worst Stains has said was that he kept orphans in cages, but this was quite obviously, and I mean this in the most serious of statements, obvious to everyone with a brain, a joke. In fact the person I was joking with at the time WHEN this joke was stated, IS A GUILD MEMBER OF MINE. So, original sub-text laid out, this woman comes up and starts acting like she can arrest me because I am a lich (She straight up says no one would care if she threw a lich in jail, AKA, I am going to power play your character into jail now.) and that I have to follow what she says no matter what, to a T, as if she is the authority in the world. Which is stupid. No one player is God. I laughed in her face, and called two of my guild members to stand at my side to basically say, 'You can't push me around.' She kept pushing it, and I said if she tried to touch me without provocation, I'd immolate her completely, on my own terms. That was her signal to suddenly rally people to assault me, arrest me, whatever. It's 2 in the morning where I am RL. I had just finished my conversation with my friend.... I don't care about some 'mortal' lady, who thinks she can tell me what to do. So I RPed that I teleported away with a laugh because it was stupid of her to approach me in the first place. She literally was looking for a fight, and was going to have it any way she could get it.She wanted to throw my character in jail, no matter what. And guess what. I guess she kind of got what she wanted lol.I was banned shortly after this incident without warning, without a message prior, and without any prior context afforded to even understand why this was the decision made. I don't know about you, but I do not like being written into a hole by other players, just because they dislike my players RACE. Yes, I play a lich, but that does not mean I am a target bullseye for the ire of every shining knight in the sun. In fact it makes little sense since Shaitans and Reapers walk around, rather unmolested by society I might add. Just because I'm the one lich who makes sarcastic jokes that toe the line of good and evil, does NOT mean I should be getting BULLIED IC by players who just, want to get their jollies off trying to push my guy around. That's what just happened about an hour ago. I was bullied into a mock confrontation, and when I bowed out because it, NUMBER ONE: Had no real engaging moments that needed me to act in a manner that I felt I would need to DEFEND myself in, and NUMBER TWO: I am a lich. I am a being of pure arcane energy. It is in my friggin description that I can teleport anywhere and do just about anything given the fountain of power I wield. Me teleporting away from several 'guards', does not seem like the end of the world for the RP. I was tired. I was being ganged up on in a weird manner IC, and the reasons were too thin and too loose for me to stick around any further. Being BANNED, was the last thing I imagined would occur because of this, so this is where I now have questions....1. Can players be 'guards' in the world, and how would I designate them as such? Is there a marking on them, or a designation? As far as I was concerned, this was a kid playing soldier, and the reality is, a lich would not listen to some dumbass in a uniform, regardless of their standing in society.2. If I do not desire combat, or being bullied around for literally no reason other than my race, how do I then stop such so I don't have to have a fight for no reason, with people who clearly wanted to make my IC time worse? I can think of no other reason for her approach other than an attempt to hinder my gameplay and make it less of a good time for me. Which she did, as she apparently immediately reported me when she didn't get her way. Very mature!3. Is it protocol to be banned without warning or reason, even without prior issues? It would have been nice for an admin to approach me on this, and ask me about what had occurred before being shunted out of the server without any word on the matter. I had to dredge up this forum and make an account just to have my voice heard. That's not very cool.4. This is the deal. I am not going to LET, someone pretend me into jail just because they don't like my character. That just isn't going to happen. I've worked hard in the past month to get my guild and to get my house, all earned with gold on my time. I'm not going to let some assholes ruin that time just because they wanna RP, 'Take down dah bad lich man' When I literally commit ZERO crimes. I am probably one of the most reasonable law abiding citizens in the game, actually. Any acts of evil my character purports have ALWAYS been mentions from the past, or in jest to his friends and mutual colleagues. Period. There is no question of this. It is a fact.5. That's it really. I said my piece. You can keep the ban up if you want, it's not a huge deal. All I wanted was for this whole thing to be slapped up for someone to read. I appreciate whoever does read this through, I do feel my concerns are valid, and that given my time in the world, that my time should be valued as well. I do not like my time being snatched away like something that I didn't work my ass off to have: I grind my ass off in the game, and I deserve my time in my house, with my guild, with my friends. Not on the bench because some jerks wanted to play cops and robbers when the robber was just walking home, not committing any actual crimes...Thanks for reading!

  Flagsmith's Fancy
Posted by: Balthie - 11-23-2020, 10:30 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (1)

Pure QoL here, and nothing more!
Currently if you own a claimed guild flag, it just stays called guild flag in your inventory and the icon doesn't change.
Not sure how possible this is, but for readability's sake I think it might be a neat idea for claiming a guild flag to rename it to something like, for example, "Guild Flag ("guildnamehere")".

To clarify, for anybody who doesn't know guild flags;

Both of these guild flags are claimed by different guilds, with different badges on them. You can't differentiate between them at a glance, which becomes more of a problem when you have more than just the two. Still workable though!

I've been loving the hell out of these flags. Great addition. Super cool.

  Pinball Strike spiff up
Posted by: Perdition - 11-23-2020, 04:15 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (1)

Since my Heaven Kick thread ended up being added, I have a suggestion for a little tweak for Pinball Strike as well. Currently the Bonder uses their weapon as a tool to warp using warp strike. I imagine Pinball Strike works similarly, so perhaps the user's weapon can be thrown to the location they intend to appear in order to pinball strike for better matching aesthetics.

[2.35] Buying or selling? Why not both.
Posted by: Perdition - 11-23-2020, 04:02 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

Currently you can set up an automatic shopkeeper, place your items and... buy your own items from that shopkeeper. With the tax system this comes out a net loss each time, but I can't imagine it being intended behavior anyway and it probably leads to other abusable bugs. All that aside, it just makes 0 sense.
