  Pets bypassing opacity

I was using my pet outside of this room (I am obviously not Airi.), it lagged, now I could see through the room. I could not hear their says, but they could hear my pets.

  Traps outside dungeons

You can place traps outside dungeons. They have no effect, look cool, and have an amazing sense of justice behind it. But anyway.

  Party Experience
Posted by: Cerrik - 04-03-2015, 02:25 AM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (16)

In the shadow of the recent post about twinking: I have a quick suggestion regarding how experience is handled to avoid boosting between friends. I know there is already a system in place, and I'm not sure how it's set-up so this may be a pointless post if this has already been addressed but from my experience, EXP falloff seems to only occur when an enemy reaches Yourlevel+10 or so. My suggestion is as follows in shitty non c++ language because I haven't wrote code in 3 years and all I remember is lua and barely at that.

{
partyvar = partymemlevel - yourlevel
finalvar = (10 - partyvar)

if (enemylevel

  Clarifying the twinking rule.
Posted by: Neus - 04-03-2015, 01:12 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (31)

Lately I've noticed that some people (some more than others) have been violating the twinking rule. But it's possible that the twinking rule is not clear in its purpose. Here is the current twinking rule, as listed on the Wiki.

"Wiki"' Wrote:3 - Twinking is not allowed. That means you may not give high level items and equipment to low level characters by transferring things over to an alt or helping your friend out with the best equipment. A general guideline is that if the character receiving the item is lower then 5*the number of rarity stars an item has, it is twinking. If you start a completely new character, that character starts from scratch. However, if you remake a character, they may keep their items.

Therefore I am going to clarify the rule and put it up on the wiki. This is effective immediately.

3 - Twinking is expressly forbidden. The following acts are classified as twinking.:
  • A) Transferring any items and/or any amount of Murai to a different character you play.
    • A2) Having a proxy transfer items to or from characters played by the same person still violates this rule and in this case, both players will be punished.
  • B) Transferring excessive amounts of items or Murai to lower level characters. Excessive is defined as one of the following within a 1 month (real-time) period:
    • 1) Murai exceeding 50 * the receiving character's level.
    • 2) More than 10 items total.
    • 3) Characters under level 30 receiving items exceeding 6* rarity. (Note: This only applies to items received in trades or as gifts. Items obtained legitimately as drops are fine.)
  • Exceptions - Only the following listed below are exceptions to this rule.
    • A) Donation items, house keys, mirror shards, and guild invitations can be transferred freely however you like and do not apply to this rule.
    • B) Transactions between players, either through trades or via automatic shopkeepers. Note that this only applies to legitimate transactions and trades. You can't offer to sell a low level character a Red Letter for 1 Murai because you know it's really your friend and you want to give them a powerful item. If you have any concerns that this trade might raise the twinking flag, you are recommended to take a screenshot and consult a GM before making it.
    • C) Requested exceptions made through supporting roleplay that is submitted to a GM for approval. (That GM is also required to post the approval in the GM forums for the sake of awareness, and to simplify things if it comes up in the future.)
    • D) If both parties are either high level (55+) characters, or have Legend Extended at least once, this rule doesn't apply to them. (Provided it does not aid in bug abuse or exploits, and the items involved are not then used to violate the twinking rule.)
  • Purpose: The spirit of this rule comes from the idea that, because this is a roleplaying game, new characters should not get a head start above others because they're OOC friends with someone who has a horde of magical artifacts laying around. Characters should have to earn their own things, whether that's through hard work or well-done roleplay. Furthermore, decking out your alts in the best armor and weapons around is not roleplaying at all; it's metagaming, and should not happen at all, unless the only items transferred are donation items, which you can do whatever you want with.

---

If you have any questions or concerns, please post them below. I will update the wiki entry later tonight, but as said, this is effective immediately.

  Crash: Massive Loss
Posted by: MegaBlues - 04-02-2015, 11:11 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (17)

I'm not sure where else to put this, so sorry if it's in the wrong spot.

I lost 89 Levels (LEing included) and two black books (Shine Sword and Magical Star) in the crash last night.

Normally, I'd just shrug and go about my way, but this was a lot of time and two pretty rare recipes lost. So I'd like to be reimbursed.

Remove the Stun effect from this skill. Nothing in this game should be able to give you two turns of stun, then immediately reapply it. Doesn't matter if it can be resisted; this one effect makes even a common enemy capable of forcing people to either have Status Resistance or immediately end up in a fatal stunlock.

Swap the effect with Knockdown if you have to; something that isn't able to effortlessly freeze people single-handedly.

Being hit by magaisendo while airborne can cause some weird graphical bugs. Using a chair seems to fix it.

  Furniture transparency
Posted by: Sarinpa1 - 04-02-2015, 03:22 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (1)

Would it be possible if we had the option of making some furniture go transparent same way some trees do when a mob is below them? Would be very helpful when you have multiple rows of bookcases close together, etcetera.

  Request for explanation on youkai gifts
Posted by: 111none - 04-02-2015, 08:39 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Okay, so tell me if this an April fools joke or not.
But I basically had a Topaz gift I gave to a night [s]Pokemon[s] youkai, and she threw it away and lost 2x the happiness of a diamond youkai gifts.

Could we at least, have a clarification on the types of youkai gifts and their effects?

Or we could maybe have a understanding trait after maxing the respective type of the youkai in affinity under summoner? Because I'm pretty sure that a summoner would have a greater understanding of their youkai as their friendship increases, no?

  Lore Questions: April (2015)
Posted by: Neus - 04-02-2015, 07:20 AM - Forum: Lore Questions - Replies (14)

This is a new topic for Lore Questions because the old one was about 26 pages. The format is roughly the same, but some guidelines;

1) Try and format your questions appropriately. As in, make it easy to read and answer.
2) Try and limit the number of questions you ask per thread. I don't mind answering them, but don't get crazy and ask me 20 things, especially if they require detailed answers.
3) Try to avoid asking extremely specific questions, such as 'Did anyone ever die of food poisoning in Cellsvich?'. Answering these is difficult, because not everything is set in stone, so giving a definitive answer on it not only restricts me in the future, but it might influence other players' character concepts that involve it.

That said, if you have any questions, you can post them in this thread! I will post answers at the end of the month/start of the next one.

Thanks! (And yes, if you had questions from the previous topic that I didn't answer before I closed it, you can post them here, but remember the formatting guideline.)
