[v2.54b] Sound Effect Slider Failure |
Posted by: Collector - 01-09-2022, 03:26 AM - Forum: Bug Reports

The sound effect slider listed under the 'sound' options in the chat bar appears to only work on turn change sounds, and not any battle sounds.
Regular battle sounds (i.e Vanishing Serpent, Judgement Blade, Mared spells) don't have their volume changed at all.

[2.66] Firebird skill "Lift-off" behaves improperly with exactly 5 feathers. |

Hello,
The firebird skill's description is as follows:
Quote:Airborne compatible. Spears can be used as casting tools. Slam your spear into the ground and create a magical burst of elemental energy, which deals elemental damage that ignores evasion (based on element enchant - Fire by default) to all enemies in a 2 Range circle around you, knocking them airborne. If 5 Magical Feathers are available, they're consumed and all tiles in the area are covered by magical feathers.
However, if the skill is used with EXACTLY five feathers remaining, they are consumed, yet the tiles are NOT covered by magical feathers, which means the five feathers are just wasted.
Tested with no elemental enchants on.
To reproduce:
Be a character with the firebird skill "Lift off" equipped, and able to use.
Enter a fight.
Make a movement action such that you have exactly 5 feathers remaining.
Use lift off.
Observe that area around character is not covered in feathers, AND you have zero feathers remaining.
Expected behavior:
For lift off to spread feathers on the map upon using.
OR
For lift off to NOT consume feathers if not spreading feathers on the map.
(Originally reported in 2.54b, have confirmed it still exists in latest live build)

Defeat the Summoner User to defeat the Summons |

After many years of seeing the community creatively roleplay youkais actively defeating people while munching on a fresh patch of grass face-down like a champ as the summoner...
I think it's probably fair to tone down their KO'd butts youkai team when they're down.
Here are some solutions I've thought up.
1. Defeating the summoner will cause all their summons to unsummon themselves.
2. Defeating the summoner will cause all their summons to lose half HP until 0.
3. Defeating the summoner will cause all their summons to cost 5x the FP upkeep.
Post down your thoughts and such below friends.

Somewhere far, over the mountains of Lordwain. . .
In the smaller halls; of simple building. An isolated chapel sits on the peak of many mountains..
A young man sits alone in his chair, and desk. Watching out the window to look into the light.
Though those grey eyes could never see any further; The beauty of the world..
Denied to this young man..
A old man approaches the young one; The wrinkled feature upon his face, the beard that adorns his jaw, and the tired blue eyes that seem weary with test of time. He offers a soft smile toward the young man, and extend his hand to put it on the man's hand, "My son.." The young man turn his attention to look toward his father, "Yes, father?" The father offers his son a nod. Turning to look out the window, then turns to look back at the young son. He reveals a soft chuckle, nodding with eager gleam in his old eyes.
"Do you wish me to describe the beauty of the world out there?'
So spoke the old priest, the young son remains confused for brief moment. Before looking out the window; Though the world to him is vastly smaller. The further he sees out, the more lines he see. The more harder it is to see the true shape, the shine, the light, and even the colors.. The vibrant world denied to him.
He turns his attention back to his father, and with hint of hesitation. He nod. The old man smiles.
"My son.. For as long as I've lived; I've seen both Sigrogana's tragedy, and it's greatest moment." He pauses..
Then he finally goes to speak in full statement;
"Though as I've came to live such a long life as I am blessed to have. The world's beauty is not in it's physical form. Nay, it is not limited to what you see, Oh my son. For the world's beauty lies within it's residents. Those who lives, dies, rejoice, suffer. These people you may not yet see.. But they will become a frequent part of your life, My son. For as long as you draw these breath, you will come to meet many, and many more."
The old man looks out the window. Giving a moment to evaluate the surrounding. He turns to look back at his son once more.
"So look at the window, my son.. You may not see the world as I can.. But I will describe them to you.. The mountains that dot these landscape, these beautiful white snow-caked behemoths. They towers over you like dragons. The sun rises, and shine upon it, giving sharp contrast of dark and light. Allowing us to witness the beautiful radiance of the sun itself in literal form. The Iahsus hangs over far above us, glowing in vibrant colors. Telling us in many form of colors.. And.."
He leans forward.. Then reveals a grin,
"Ah.. Today will be beautiful day again, Osborn."
Osborn pauses.. Looking up to his father once more. An expression of confusion dances across his face..
"They've came to visit."
And thus...
They came..

A Long-Due Apology |

I'm going to try to be concise with this post because I don't want to waste your time by attempting to explain or excuse my actions that happened a few months ago. If you're wanting a full explanation, or try to get why I did it or just discuss the entire scenario, I guess you could always DM me at Hoot#1195, but I'll get on with the post itself from here on out.
I want to apologize publicly to the people I wrongly attempted to put in a bad light. They didn't deserve it at all, and I was clearly in the wrong for doing it back then, and am still in the wrong and don't expect anyone to really forgive me for it. If they choose to, eventually, that's great, but I personally feel like I need to work or atone for this sort of thing. My attempts to manipulate people into siding for me were clear as day, looking back on it, and as much as I hate that it happened, I know it did. Whether or not it was subliminal or not doesn't change the fact that it happened, and that I deserved the punishment I got for it.
I want to also apologize for revealing information I really shouldn't have. I admit that this was a moment of weakness and that I didn't mean any harm, but I understand now that it was a really dickhead thing of me to do as a reaction of sorts, and it clearly did harm people despite my original thoughts on it. I want to go on and say I don't want to be calling out anyone in specific in this post, because I really have done enough of that and I'm sure it's obvious enough anyway who I'm talking about, and those that know, should know with ease.
Next, I want to apologize for the reactions I've had with my character's death. I understand that it was entirely in my own doing that they died, and that I shouldn't have taken it out on anyone, let alone the person who would've given me a chance to let them survive. I was a complete asshole to them in spite of their attempts to mitigate the situation and comfort me, and that's all on me. I'm a naturally stressed out person, but that doesn't give me an excuse nor a reason to take it out on other people.
Then,I want to apologize for my behavior in general. I'm a very stressful person to interact with at times, and can be very focused on one thing. I can also be obsessive to the point of discomfort for many people, and I understand that as well. I've attempted to work on it through taking a long, long break from SL2 and its community. It's obvious that I missed this place, though, due to me returning despite wanting to have left for longer. I'm not a stable person, by a longshot, but again, this doesn't excuse anything. If someone wants to talk to me over this, I'll do my best to be as transparent as I possibly can.
As a last note, and last apology, I want to say I'm sorry for vanishing soon after the entire thing was revealed and everything fell apart for me. It was wrong of me to do so, and I'm sure it caused some people to worry, not to mention it being just a generally cowardly thing to do. I'm back for now, and I want to atone for what I can. I'm sorry it took me this long to make this post, as well. I had to work up the guts, if you get what I mean. Nonetheless, I wanted to do more than just sit there and try to go on with life. I don't want to pretend like this never happened.
Thanks for reading through this post, and I hope you have a good day.

Fat but Fit (Running Away thread) |

At the moment, running away from combat is a certain waste of 6M if your CEL and LUC together don't total remotely close to 50, which makes CEL users always have 100% chance to escape while also having turn order priority to further make their next and third round be a perfect, flawless end of a battle.
All while other builds that are not CEL nor LUC savvy to suffer at the hands of a probability, and likely will take one extra round of damage before they're allowed to flee, IF they manage to flee. Which is unfair as hell.
Could the base escape chance formula be revamped to (50% + CEL + LUC)? Fleeing already has a huge cooldown at the start of combat anyway. If being able to run proves to be a problem, it's not the probability's fault, but how soon you can use it.
So make it a wee more fair for all builds, pls.

Hello,
One of my characters, known to most as 'literal chrome dome' is balding. Not completely bald, the top of his head has no more hair, just the sides and back.
Tragically, there is no available hairstyle sprite for this.
Any chance we could rectify this?

There are a large slew of weapons that function to increase the power of spells by X or X% (Halved for off-hand). These weapons, however, may as well not have this functionality because they aren't casting tools and thus: Are absolutely TERRIBLE FOR THEIR LISTED PURPOSE.
My suggestion is to have these weapons count as casting tools for their listed element. Off the top of my head that would mean
Burngada: Casts fire spells (Current: +10% PWR to Nerifian domain spells / 50% if off hand.)
Overgrown Staff: Casts lightning spells (Current: +1 PWR to nature spells per plant in 4 range)
Abberation Spear: Casts lightning spells (Current: +10% PWR to nature spells, /50% if off handed)
I'm sure there are MANY more that I don't have listed. And it would give niche weapons a new lease and, more importantly, assuage the typical cry for 'Give us weapon materials to cast other spell types'.
It wouldn't remove them, but it'd be a step in the direction.

Church Knight Registration |

Hello all.
As of today I am opening up the application process for the Church Knights. Below I will give a rough overview of what the Church Knights are and what is expected of those who apply to the faction.
All applications are to be DM'd to Karidan#4463 on Discord and will be discussed with each person as the applications come.
A foreword that I would like to get out of the way before any further reading is done on the application process.
If you are joining this faction, then you will be expected to maintain a cordial and amicable attitude with your fellow players during your tenure with the group. Disagreements happen but such things should be handled with tact.
The Church Knights
Who are they?
Originally founded to route Suns Ichor, The Church Knights serve Mercala as the first line of defense against those who abuse her gifts and the dark forces that threaten the day to day life of the common folk. They are frontline combatants against necromancers and other outbreaks of undead across the Great Six.
The primary duties of a Church Knight revolve around quelling these evils and ensuring that the Mercalan Tenets are upheld across the Six. They work with the governing bodies of each of the Continents to ensure that this end is accomplished.
Application Process and Roles Available
The application process for this includes the following roles:
- Church Knights (Combatants and non-combatants such as record keepers and those who specialize in breaking curses and hexes)
- Members of the Clergy (Those who serve on the ground level of the Church)
One of the primary methods that the Church Knights get their information comes from the various members of the Clergy all across the Great Six. Members of the Mercalan Church are encouraged to report suspicious activity and signs of Huggesoa's dark ambitions to ensure that the Knights know when and where to act.
This enables them to maintain stable diplomacy across the Six and ensure that their limited numbers are used efficiently.
Furthermore, the Church Knights, while all of them have combat training, are also often people who are well versed in keeping records and dealing in occult matters.
As such, there is ample room for specialization, and it is encouraged for people to develop their characters into whatever role they desire.
To apply to the Church Knights, I will require:
- The name of your character,
- their race; and
- a brief description of their background and their motivations for joining
Please note: Any double agent characters -must be disclosed to me at the time of application, if the character becomes turncoat or decides to become a double agent during their tenure as a Church Knight, I must be notified at the time of this occurring.-
The reason for this is multifaceted, as me knowing this enables me to both give you more RP opportunities to do the thing you are trying to do, as well as helping me keep sequences of events straight on an OOC level.
The application process is the same for Members of the Clergy but it will be more so I am notified you -are- a member of the Clergy rather than an actual application.
Generally the application process will begin with an OOC interview, then there will be an IC interview with the Commander afterwards.
Once both of these things are done, you will be entered into the trainee program.
The Experience
What sort of RP opportunities can I expect as a Church Knight?
Church Knights will be responsible for responding to and investigating reports from the common folk and Clergy on matters that will be listed in the Church Knight documentation.
A lot of this will have to do with matters of necromancy and Mercana abuse. Patrolling and investigating areas that have reported frequent Mercana abuse shall be part of those duties.
Additionally, there will be an ongoing plot with the Church Knights that I will be hosting as an event chain.
I will be supplementing your normal duties with tailored events that will let you still get the Church Knight experience even if there aren't any crimes being perpetrated by other players that need handling. These events will be separate from the primary ongoing plot and will not require any information other than what is required to be a Church Knight.
My general gameplan will be to put up listings for jobs and duties that need doing and people can volunteer themselves to go and do them, but this is subject to change as I tailor the Church Knights to be a good experience for members and others playing the game.
Why now?
It has long been an unreachable position to be a Church Knight, and as such the transition to this being a player ran faction can be jarring to the IC of the world.
The current IC of the situation is that the Church Knights have been suffering heavy losses in recent years due to a foe that has not been made public to the people of the world.
This has been kept under wraps as well as possible until the number of losses have been too high to keep a secret anymore.
As a response, Marec has decided to once again open the doors to new members to replenish those he has lost.
The OOC
Being a Church Knight puts you in a position of power across Sigrogana, as such it is a position that must be maintained tactfully.
There are strict guidelines that will need to be followed in terms of what can and cannot be punished. Church Knights will not be granted anymore power than any other player character, and they will resolve all conflicts the same as any other Military would.
The major dividing differences lie in their specialized training and the fact that they work across the world, and as such will be required to work closely with the Military for each nation when conducting operations within their land.
All members of the Church Knights will be expected to conduct themselves in a cordial manner when interacting with other players, and all situations that come up IC must be handled with a cool head regardless of what tensions may rise in the OOC of it.
It essentially comes back to the rule of no IC into OOC and vice versa.
I will allow a maximum of -two characters- per player in the Church Knights. They are not a massive, expansive force and I would much prefer that people dedicate to one character if they are going to commit to the faction. The main reason I am allowing two is because playing a combatant and a non-combatant are vastly different experiences and I would not want to lock people into not being able to experience both sides of the faction.
I hope to see you all on the frontlines!
Praise be to Our White Ladies' Radiance.
