Once venerated and opulent, filled with magnificence and splendor, the continent land to the east known as 'Gold' is now but a shadow of its former glory. Yet still the people and its inhabitants strive for survival whilst upholding a historic honorable code.
Those fortunate enough to leave the desolate land at will with adventurous smiles are often shown as joyous and forward-thinkers of the realm, yet not a sparse thought is given to those less fortunate...
Through rumors and your own observations you've managed to uncover several points of interest!
Trouble in Paradise
Tone: Serious, Tactical, Dark
Oniga and their casino debt collectors have grown increasingly aggressive, going as far as using violence and clear vandalism as a means to an end.
Despite following the laws in the loosest sense within the final remaining bastion of proper civilization in Gold the various thug groups that make this their prime profession themselves aren't lending themselves to be very compassionate to their fellow Onigans despite all their hardship and struggles of all ongoing.
Outside the culturally, dazzling walls of the town are hovel shacks made from scavenged decaying wood and makeshift mud. Densely packed communities of refugees from all four corners of Gold seeking sanctuary from the cruel, creeping curse of the sands. Minor noble families that have lost their entire livelihoods have devolved to organized gangsters with whatever powerful arms they brought with them. Those less fortunate are forced to labor arduously for their daily bread.
A far cry from the hospitality and splendors within Oniga, the people within the outer slums are in dire need of help, but can anyone really lift them from this curse with such a miracle?
Perhaps honorable souls could lend their aid here...For good or for evil.
Status: Trouble brews and the status quo is unchanged.
DISCLAIMER: Hello, I’m an Eventmin for SL2 and this is here to remind you that most if not all my events are meant for a maximum of 3-6 players save for exceptions where I’m helping someone else with their event. They will also be kept far shorter and wouldn’t last 6 hours or longer if I can help it. My hope is that they can be enjoyed in segments.
Because of this, there will not be a formal ‘sign-up’ for these events and how I would like you to join up is by simply pinging me while I am online with the green circle within the official Sigrogana Legends 2 Discord #Events-Discussion and using the following template:
@Kpeck
Event Join-up
Ckey/Name: [Iloverp/Hiro Protagona]
How long I will be online: [1-3 Hours]
Event I want to join: [The event title/s]
If I’m online I’ll say I’ve got it and put you onto a list if you are solo for those events, you can also join in a group of course. When stuff is set up, I’ll ping you within the discord with the details and you can get started.
Please don’t be discouraged if I select a set of people before you or your group as I will mainly be selecting them by first come first serve basis and if they’ve joined in one of my events before. If you come up to the events while there are already 6 people involved, you can still interact with the event and players but YOU WILL NOT BE THE MAIN FOCUS AND YOU WILL PLAY A VERY MINOR ROLE. There can be exceptions but please let me know beforehand.
Every event-piece is fit with a ‘TONE’ to let you know what to expect. If you go to an event marked with ‘serious’ or ‘dark’ you should probably leave the clown makeup at home and the same goes for events marked with ‘lighthearted’ or ‘casual’ where you don’t and SHOULD NOT need to bring your entire bomb collection for murdering. You will be warned once before you are politely asked to leave with your roleplay antics VOIDED if you misunderstand the tone of these that badly.
No need to post anything on this thread as I intend to use the same one for adding and updating more events for Oniga!
(Apologies for any inconsistencies for the 'Events' being center aligned and left. For some reason the new forums love to delete paragraph spacing randomly)

The glorious bastion capital of the Empire is filled with all manner of adventure and interesting characters. Either as a long-time local or new visitor to the town, there's certainly more than meets the eye within this bustling town aside the main center square...
Through rumors and your own observations you've managed to uncover several points of interest!
![[Image: latest?cb=20130613235626]](https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/sl2/images/8/8f/Sigrogana.png/revision/latest?cb=20130613235626)
The Venerable Elder & Canine
Tone: Lighthearted, Non-Combat, Mystery
An old and frail but highly spirited lady has taken residence within the rickety old house behind the looming Mage's Guild literal shadow. A quaint assortment of laundry is expertly strewn along a laundry line, modest knickers and an astonishing amount of unique patterned sweaters being the most prevalent.
Onlooking bystanders and busybodies who catch a glimpse passing by remark how she seems to struggle doing basic menial chores outside the house yet continues life as normal. Passer-bys of the area also catch an intoxicating whiff of sweet & sugary baked pastries.
Keeping the senior citizen company is a large and robust hound of Lordwain origin. Though incredibly passive and gentle, you get the feeling that assaulting the elderly old lady is a very bad idea. Perhaps you've seen it wandering about the town looking for a cool place to rest?
The duo appear friendly enough. Maybe you should pay a visit and lend a helping hand? Who knows? Maybe you're the one who needs the most help
Status: None have yet to pay a visit to the Elder & Canine's home...
Duckneck Circle of Life
Tone: Lighthearted, Casual, Humor
Duckneck usual migrations, which is to say almost random flocks have appeared floating above Cellsvich and occasionally scavenging and loitering within the public park East of the local blacksmith. They appear to be highly passive and even friendly to an extent, although their constant weh's and habit of stealing bites of unattended food have led to be an annoyance much to the dismay of romantic couples on dates and peaceful family outings.
Despite their odd form and biology most citizens, mainly children and even foreigners have flocked to the park as the Ducknecks have; to interact and even feed them for their charming antics. The flock don't exactly live within the park but will randomly appear from time to time.
You get the feeling that when they come back it might make for a 'romantic date' with your loved ones in the midst of rampant weh's. Or maybe you just really like animals with abnormally long necks. Isn't nature beautiful?
Status: The Duckneck flock is still rather humble and infrequent...

v.2.28 Excel Charges and Ether Invitation incompatibility |

If you use Ether Invitation with an excel charged weapon against a target that has Claret Call, it will not give the attack bonus damage from Ether Invitation, nor apply Cursed Wounds. The Claret Call still remains on the target after the Ether Invitation.
Tested with an Excel Parashu (the axe.)

v.2.28 Game gets lag spikes when posting with bold or italics |

As of this moment, if you make a post with bold or italics text, it causes a lag spike for the whole game until the post manages to go through. Currently this seems to happen specifically with either of those.
Lag spike time is variable, but on my end it has been ranging from 4 to 7 seconds. Can be caused by any player.
Lags with say/emote/whisper/lemote/wemote.

Papilion Butterflies Make Me Sad |

The more I use them, the sadder I get. It is almost exclusively a detriment to use butterflies / fairies / snakes / etc in combat for many, many, MANY reasons. I get there being counterplay or whatever, but it's to the point that summoning a butterfly is more likely to help the enemy than to help you. Some examples of this are:
Butterflies can be used to negotiate with (spellthief)
Butterflies can be enemy climbed (DH cobra)
Butterflies can be used to gain momentum via crits (and fleur makes this worse)
Butterflies can, to my knowledge, be used to give a charge of Spirit Jar for healing
Butterflies can, to my knowledge, be defeated with a custom tome with a Vampiric seed for healing
Butterflies can save a sidecut / silcut user a lost attack from spirit pain if the butterfly is targeted first
Butterflies can, to my knowledge, accidentally trigger traps despite pretty much not being real
Butterflies can prevent the cooldown from using charge (by being landed next to)
Butterflies can trigger geist, giving a boxer extra momentum
Butterflies, to my knowledge, count for momentum recovery from Exaggerator
Butterflies CANNOT BE CONTROLLED TO PREVENT ANY OF THIS
Worst yet, the enemy can just skip their turn to make butterflies come to them-- making it easier to pull some of this off. There's more examples than just this, I just can't think of anymore off the top of my head. You could argue that this is just the 'risk of summoning butterflies', but when they're the only racial even half worth using in Papilion's arsenal, it gets very disappointing. Aposemagika isn't even worth using, and even if it was? It still summons more butterflies, causing all the issues listed above.
I wish I had a simple solution to make this a little less severe, but I just... don't. If anyone has suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Lore tidbits in dungeons! |

I've noticed as of lately that there's some really interesting lore for certain monsters, most of which is not immediately available unless you dig really hard outside of the game. Some other monsters lack any lore whatsoever; being "barebones", so to speak.
So! Here's a suggestion that could make exploring dungeons like Loyrwell Tombs, and statics, much more interesting for players. What if we could find small lore tidbits spread across the dungeon in the form of items (a note, remains, etc.)? Not something the player can take into their inventory - this is to avoid clutter - but rather something that gives them some insight on the lore of their current location, in the form of a message in their log, by examining the item. I think it'd be a really cool idea, especially for people like myself who would love to know more about dungeons and monsters, and appreciate the increased immersion. It could even throw the player hints about bosses, the lore related to them, yada yada.
Of course, this is just an idea! I invite other people to offer their own suggestions regarding the matter if they have any, or to further compliment my ideas, or what have you.

[Event] SWARM! |

Swarm!
Now that I have your attention... here's an event announcement! Though, unlike other events... this doesn't have a set date, and never will. What do I mean...? Well, let me tell you!
While there are plenty of private plots and storylines depicting intelligent villains with a goal and vendetta in mind, after hearing out the concerns of some members of the community, I decided we were lacking in more events like this! Sure we have the mine raids and the black beast raids... but they're often static, and very predictable when you get down to it. The world needs more danger to feel like it's truly alive... and not just the big time hot shot danger we already have. No, it's time to get simpler...
The creatures of the world seem to have been getting a little more reckless recently. Gathering in larger numbers than before, rallying around a powerful member of their race, they've been causing chaos in outbursts all across the world. BDPs are their own danger, but these creatures are loose and causing mayhem, and it's up to you to rout the gatherings before they become a problem.
At times you may see an announcement warning you that a swarm is gathering in a certain location. These swarms are essentially absurd numbers of mobs lead by a boss that fits themetically. Often they'll be basic mobs (though there may be slight changes in moveset to spruce them up) but you might see some mobs custom made for the swarm from time to time. The swarms you see will vary from land to land, so near Lispool you might see more ice or water mobs, Karaten and Chatarunga more undead mobs (Loyrwell and otherwise) and, Alstalsia... well, who knows? Perhaps the mobs there might be a mix of them all at once. You'll just have to see.
.
Now, here's an important thing or two to remember.
.
All encounters in the swarm are IC. I am not running this event for it's mechanical value, so I'm not going to spawn mobs for someone who is OOC for example. I don't expect these to be particularly popular events, but they're made to help the world feel alive, not solely to give more mechanical stuff to do.
.
These swarms will be more balanced around a team, rather than going solo. While I'm willing to accomodate your IC if you want to do the risky thing of running it alone, please do not complain if they feel unfair because you did them alone. If they feel unfair and you did them with a group, by all means let me know what the problem was.
.
After each event I'll add a post on here that summarises the swarm, telling people who missed it what the swarm was, where it happened, how many were defeated, etc. You are also encouraged to talk about the experience IC - there's only so much I can do to make the world feel alive with these if they're forgotten as soon as the event itself is over.
.
I hope you'll all look forward to these in future!

Daggers need a (probably major) hit buff across the board |

Before I start, I want to make a point that everything I'm referring to here is focused on pvp. Anything can get enough hit to function in pve content.
As it stands right now, daggers only see 'regular' use in 2 different scenarios:
1) As a sub weapon for divine eyes
2) As a mage based void assassin weapon, usually alongside a tome.
When it comes to their most generic intended use of crit basic attacks using their high base crit mod, they are completely and utterly shut down by any well built evade builds. Most daggers, even the few that have 90-100 base hit rather than 80, can't make it far enough past 300 hit to get passable hit chance without making incredibly inefficient sacrifices that kill the build regardless. Anyone well versed in pvp knows that this is the absolute bare minimum for basic attack focused builds to not just lose to anyone and everyone that stacks evade, and they can barely reach it at a stretch with mid 60's in skill and luck as well as every easily available passive bonus. On top of that, they have very little access to extra hit compared to other weapon types, whether that be straight up passive bonuses or attacks that gain a bonus to hit. For a weapon type that thematically seems like it should be the next most able to hit the mark right behind bows and guns, this seems far off from where it should be. I feel like this has been an issue for a long time now, something that slipped through the cracks when they lost their 2 most useful sub class options to get better hit in pre-rework ghost (fitting form) and pre-rework kensei (touki).
Daggers are arguably the most basic attack focused weapon type in the game, in part due to their low number of situational autohits and low swa potential with which to use them. Despite this, they lack the hit to even get passable hit chance against evade stackers. Obviously they shouldn't be able to get pefect or near perfect hit or it leaves those that stack evade in a bad spot against high damage dagger crits. Unfortunately, daggers are often left with 30% hit or less with one or two small buffs/debuffs. Unlike other weapons however, they don't really have the option to mix it up with some autohits the same way that other weapon types do, their lower swa leaving their autohits in a position of sacrificing damage for utility and leaving them forever losing the damage race if they rely entirely on them. I think that daggers need a substantial hit buff across the board, as well as some form of passive hit bonus on either rogue or void assassin. This is the base and promoted class that is most geared towards this big dagger crit playstyle after all, and hitting the mark at all seems a bit more important than hitting it hard. Personally I think that in terms of gameplay as well as thematically, dagger hit should fall somewhere greater than martial weapons but lower than bows and guns at least, due to their greater damage potential than the latter with their large base crit mod. I'm no balance professional though despite ranting here, so I suppose I'll leave that up to discussion and dev.
