A few suggestions I got (June Bucketlist)
Posted by: Coffeeccubus - 06-30-2020, 05:05 AM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (3)

Hi it's Coffee!

I got some more suggestions for SL2

The Case of the Shop Guys
So you may know them as Sign Guy, the Fashionable Man, the Darkwood Furniture Seller and the Sculptor.

Call me outrageous, but as of right now, they are the most useless NPCS in the game.

I'm not even going to sugar coat this. These four have absolutely near to no use in their products, mostly Signman and the Sculptor, as we can literally gain their products from alchemy for free by using wood and such there. Darkwood Furniture and Fashionable Man do have their uses yes, but the main problem is how old and outdated they are.

There are literal days, where they do not appear at all, and even if they do, they are completely bugged out, no matter how long you wait for the caravan to arrive. The only time they are fixed, is when a reset happens.

Here's my solution:

  • Cease the travelling caravans for these guys, and have them...

All congregate in one permanent location. Perhaps a trading outpost that they have in the middle of the Badlands.

    or

Move the four into different locations, and let them have their own shop.

  • Have the four merchants sell things you cannot obtain in alchemy. So, maybe you could move all the Darkwood Stuff to alchemy, because honestly, I think it's super silly you can't craft the vertical table, but you can do it for horizontal one, and the fact prison doors are even considered Darkwood... Maybe have all four of them sell unique things that are specific to said region. So the Darkwood Furniture salesman, sells you items that are exclusive to the region of Voilegard, maybe even a Darkwood DISCr too, Fashionable Man can sell you unique Onigan Items like he does now, but a few more things from there, Sign Man sells you more unique signs that are not found in the Alchemy Crafting, and the Sculptor sells you unique Sculptures that are big. Remove all the Alchemy craftables from their stock.

Carpentry Skill
It's always bugged me how you can craft furniture from the Alchemy Skill. It really doesn't make any sense to me, as you can't just mash a pestal and motar together and create furniture. It's really silly, and I feel that it'd be proper if we had an actual skill that revolved around Carpentry. From there, you could craft furniture and such, but also, certain house parts as well?

Trading Card Game
I know this has surfaced A LOT, especially after that YGO game's shut down, but I really think Sigrogana should have it's own Trading Card Game. It'd be super fun, and can be super addicting as well. I feel that it would help encourage roleplay, and help create decks for players to be unique. Players could submit cards, and they can be checked by Event Staff, and GMS to get it's approval. Maybe a new booster pack can be released, but it should have atleast 1 or 2 GMs looking at it, maybe every single week, to see if it's alright to keep maintaining it, and to check interests. I could go into an entire thread of how the game could work, or go over it with some people on discord, and we might form a discord group based off it? Who knows. I want this to happen so bad!

[2.27c] Raid Revolver and Gun Skills
Posted by: Miller - 06-30-2020, 02:03 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - No Replies

Gun skills in particular don't seem to work with Raid Revolver both without weapons equipped and with (with MMA). This makes Desperado Stance completely unusable with it, as well as other gun specific skills.

Tested by taking off my weapon and trying to use Desperado Stance, taking off MMA and trying to use Desperado Stance with no weapons equipped; there were no changes in results as Desperado Stance was still unusable.

The battle menu still shows a gun icon. (Raid Revolver is unable to use Verglas basics.)

However, Desperado Stance remains unable to be used.

Suggesting Patrion Item for Custom-Icons on Sprites (Weapon only)
Posted by: Tamaki-Kun - 06-30-2020, 12:44 AM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (13)

Hello hello. This'll be a short and simple suggestion, but I'd like to hear people's opinions on it, as Dev mentioned that he's open to adding it to the patrion shop if more people took an interest to it.

So, with that said, what is it?

Why, I'm glad you asked! If the title didn't already give the whole idea away, it's basically just a custom icon for weapons. Not on items, mind you, but on our character sprites. Sure, one could argue that we all could put our special weapons out into the public for everyone to have access to it, but seldom few are open to that. This is an understandable thing, since I personally don't want my super special snoflake icon to be everywhere either, as that invalidates what I want to achieve; more variety!

Wouldn't it be just grand to see all our cool custom-regalia'd weapons on our backs/hips/wherever-you-put-your-weapon-but-hopefully-not-in-concerning-places? I personally think it'd be nice to see everyone showing off the icons they made/commissioned.

You think it might give off the feeling of arrogance or pride? Maybe. But some characters in character are like that. And there is nothing wrong with having something like this, I think.

Maybe just an icon on the back part of the icon customizing mirror thing that we can customize and stuff.

So yes. TLDR: gib custom weapon icon sprites for variety and life and color and more 'hey that's a cool weapon you got there, where you get it' scenarios. Ty.

Yeah, I lied. It wasn't short and simple.

  Curses Redone
Posted by: Perdition - 06-29-2020, 11:47 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (1)

So, the lore/tip blurbs describe curses as something that provide benefits that are impressive but come with a steep downside. Currently, this couldn't be any further from the truth. I'd like to see curses be truly powerful, but with costs to match. Given how they're described, I think that they should be stronger than enchants on average with comparable negative effects. These likely won't be balanced but they're meant to pose as templates or general ideas in the direction to rework this underwhelming game mechanic.

Demonic

+10% in all stats, -50% crit evade, -10% HP, -50% status resist, -10% FP (minimum 0 for crit evade and status resist)

The idea here is the name of this curse will reflect the fact that you're getting a boost similar to certain bosses' Demonic Translation, however it comes at the price of your defensive stats.

Parasitic

-5% HP for every basic attack or skill performed with the weapon, however the value in HP lost is added as bonus damage on each basic or skill.

Numbers probably need tweaking, but as it stands, I think this better reflects the idea of a weapon that leeches off of you in exchange for power.

Fleeting

+2 in all weapon parameters excluding weight. This bonus increases in combat every round, however, every round there is an increasingly larger chance that your weapon will be reduced to 0 in all parameters on round change until the end of combat, rendering it useless.

Again, numbers would need tweaking, especially determining the chance for the weapon to become useless and how much that chance should grow, but the vibe here is supposed to be power in exchange for an inevitable, unknown end to your weapon's use in combat. A fleeting moment of power.

The other curses (bloodsoaked, rustic, and haunted) seem fine for what they are. Haunted fulfills a serviceable curse that you can apply on demand. Bloodsoaked is for grinding purposes and doesn't need to be changed imo. Rustic maybe could use some tweaking given that it was most prevalent on tomes to use with sayakana, but dynamic tomes are proving to be so strong that people would rather just slap haunted on them. But I figure this is a decent start as far as conversation around curses goes.

  Incorrect Icon Inconsistencies
Posted by: Snake - 06-29-2020, 04:51 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - No Replies

I've noticed a lot of baby mistakes I have made with the skill icons alongside some missing ones.

Some colors are not standardized and out of shade. (Some shades of green and red around the circle to define if a skill is a passive or magic, for example). I took a lengthy moment to fix everything and also provide the icons that are also still missing from the game. (Worry not, the new icons will also be uploaded to submissions.)

.zip   replacement files for skill icons + trait icons.zip (Size: 9.98 KB / Downloads: 405)

All you need to do is swap the DMI files for each, or add/fix icon states, if those are missing ones. The instructions are below for each file:

Replacement Icons

  • Firebird had one error and a pretty unsatisfying placeholder. Ignite Power was not displayed as 'green', a passive, but a 'blue', an active. Fixed. Falcon Roar got a little one-up from me, so replace it too.
  • Void Assassin... It's entirety was not standardized to the right shade of green. A shamefur disprei from me, so have my utmost sincere-est apologies. Fixed the shading to match all other passives, this one requires a full replacement of everything within the file.
  • Mage had a lot of mishaps that I corrected. Fixed and updated them all together with the missing Relent Gale, please replace/add everything.
Missing Icons
  • Trait Icons have Exaggerate, Competitive, Mask of Metal, Lust Tattoo, reworked Green Lover and reworked Spirit Caller. Also added Exaggerate's icon for skill hotbar.
  • Bonder is displaying Contract Tres as Contract Uno, probably a wrong icon state.
  • Evoker is missing Refresh Tattoo, it was uploaded before so probably a wrong icon state.
That's probably all. Apologies if this doesn't count as a bug report. o7

  Oath Sign (Fated)
Posted by: Akame - 06-29-2020, 02:45 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (5)

A crystal arcane symbol that symbolizes loyalty and destiny.

Can Enchant: Weapons
Enchant Info: All weapon parameters improve by 1. It cannot be dropped when losing a battle.

An enchantment that's been forgotten since the olden days. Time for a little sprucing up!

In keeping with the theme offered by the name, what if instead of, or in addition to, increasing all parameters by 1, it heightens damage against your Fated Enemy by an additional 15%, increasing to a total of 25% extra damage?

Thoughts?

  Mantra Face Icon State
Posted by: Fern - 06-28-2020, 05:01 AM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (3)

Similarly to how Pet Kits let you give your Pet a faceicon by having a state named "pet"...

Can we have the same option for the Further Madness trait's automatic emote? The one where it says "Kinu laughs in an unsettling manner..."

In my mind, the way it works is like this:
1. You make a faceicon state called "mantra"
2. When the emote happens, the game automatically chooses that faceicon for you. If there is no "mantra" state, it either picks the default (like it does with Pet Kit) or it uses the one you have at the moment. I'd prefer the latter if able but I'd understand if it's not possible.

  The 2020 Thread

Well, considering that the world's on fire and this part of the forum has been pretty inactive this year, I figured I'd make a thread for the year to hopefully gather stories from the community about the good things that have happened, maybe overall, maybe in your life- either way, a thread that shines a bit of light on an otherwise dismal year might be nice.

(I'm going to regret this aren't I?)
