When attempting to move the cursor off the caster, they simply turn as if it was a self-target only.

Yes, so after seeing so many of these complaints about description crashes and running into them myself while clicking on random people, two thoughts have finally occurred to me.

Before I address them, I'd like to point out to many of the people 'hoping this issue gets fixed' that it's most likely a BYOND issue with rendering all the fancy HTML5 inside the game, as it does now rather than opening a browser page. In other words, I doubt it's something we'll be seeing fixed very soon or at least easily. Rather than wonder how to fix it, I suggest we add two very important features to simply get around this issue, along with perhaps a rule which will probably sound reasonable enough after the thought.

I don't doubt Dev's already thought of these or was planning to add them in before the issues came up, but just in case...


First of all, bring back preview. Obviously if someone hits preview and their client crashes, they're going to realize something's wrong with their code. There should be no reason people risk turning themselves into walking nukes simply by editing their first description page. In addition to adding preview, force users to preview their page before it actually saves. Why? To prevent the whole 'I don't like equipment tab viewing, so I'll nuke my description' abuse, which I'm sure at least one person is doing intentionally or has at least thought to.

Secondly, add a verb that resets all of a user's profile pages. Of course, this comes with the downside of people losing them if they hadn't backed them up somewhere else, but that simply takes changing the verb's directive from 'reset all pages' to 'drop down menus and allow the user to choose the page they wish to reset.' Obviously, add into that process of changing that page back to null the same routine the game does to give players their old descriptions back: output it as basic text in a popup window before it's set back to null. That way, nothing lost.



If we can have both these things and assuming they work, there should be no reason for anyone be going around with a broken description anymore. Therefore, anyone going around with one would be bug abusing, so simply make it against the rules.

I made that sound a bit salty, but I know most people don't intend to bomb their descriptions as the game is right now. I'm simply thinking into the future.

Open to criticism on this.

Vampires do not seem to get back on their feet whatsoever from Die Hard. Had it proc, was still at 0 hp.

Originally I had planned on doing a lot of fancy screenshots and formulating and walking the viewers through how Aptitude doesn't add bonus experience to the current rates.... but it's so much simpler to go:

Aptitude currently does not effect experience rates (scaled or not) like how it advertises.

So, other than the temporary fix of telling people not to click/examine you, I've been noticing a lot of issues with certain people's profiles being well bugged out, mine included, I'm not sure if it's the coding I added to it, the fact I placed a font I shouldn't have or what? But this is rather annoying especially when one person can wipe them.

Anyways, the point of this thread is to highlight the crashing that's been happening a lot lately when you view a certain person's profile.

Right, I didn't see anything titled 'Raigri' so I assume this hasn't been reported yet.

Using Raigri launches a projectile, but once it hits an enemy, it simply freezes, hovering over that enemy until the game skips the turn of the player who used it.

No effect is being called on impact.

After someone sparked my interest on whether or not Ashe was bugged (their issue was whenever they would try to talk to her no dialog would appear and they would "freeze&quotWink, I went to test it for myself. The following is a recollection of those events:

I was going to fight Seto with Ashe, when (I shit you not), I double-instanced the fight after they finished dialog -> lost the first by default -> was thrown into the 2nd (with 6k murai lost) with a black screen -> and relogged into the 2nd fight with a black screen.

I have no way to reliably reproduce this at the present but I know -SOMETHING- is horribly borked.

Edit: I also noticed my timer run significantly faster than normal.... will be crying in a corner now, bai. Q_Q

My real guess is that it's the timer from the first battle I queued.

Pre 1.58, it left a flame trail similar to the firefox's did, and the skill Firefall is still granted, however this doesn't do anything in battles anymore (unless the trail is now invisible). The UL effect of this item still works however (a % on kill to spawn seeker flame).

  Text Dump Troubles

So, after a recent chat with Dev I found out that the text dumps are supposed to disappear after the first login on the associated character, which they currently do not do (correctly).

As for those of you who copy-pasted your old description into your new one (don't do that by the way), I believe the only current way to fix it is to inform Dev of this (at least from what I've gathered from chatting with others).
