Mikuel Oak - Long time rental of empty cellsvich bakery building
Posted by: Mikuel - 10-09-2021, 03:54 PM - Forum: Approved Characters - Replies (1)

Applicable BYOND Key - Mikuel

Character Name - Mikuel Oak

Request Type - Obtaining rental (or owner) rights over empty building

Request Details -

In cellsvich, there is few fully decorated houses and buildings without any npc's inside them. I find them all pretty neat but there is one specific one I am interested in:

The one directly next to the Pink's Pub.

Inside it is small, fully decorated bakery of sorts, with some unique looking pastries and cakes inside glass displays, which makes it look extremely nice despite how it looks.

I do have quite a bit of Murai and patrions stocked up so I was wondering if I could IC:ly claim that building as my own (via long time rent or purchase) to utilise the unique interior for RP.

Reason why you are making this request (if applicable) -

The bakery is at good location, has extremely nice decoration inside it and yet it is completely unused. I feel like that is shame and would like to use it myself to sell some pastries on rp front.

Roleplay & Lore supporting your request -

Its completely unused at this point (as far as I know) and I do think cellsvich would allow at least rental of the area if paid enough.

  v.2.51 [Crafting Menu] Click X
Posted by: Jeff - 10-08-2021, 05:49 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

When you select something to craft, the popup window appears asking if you are sure you want to craft this item. The options are Craft, Craft Multiple, and No.

Clicking No and clicking the red X at the top right should have the same effect, but they do not. If you click the red X, instead you will craft one of that item.

v.2.51 [EVENT TOOLS] Battle HUD hides top half of Event Tools

See title. Part of the reason this is a problem is because you can't click the Damage Applying tool. Example below:

  Dominant Subtypes
Posted by: Kazzy - 10-08-2021, 04:51 AM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (2)

So. Weapon parts. We have a slew of not-useful ones. Or ones that just don't see use. So lets throw more into the mix that might actually make you choose something that's not just universal Best In Slot.

Namely, lets add some to the mix that apply /SUBTYPES/. This is born from an earlier thought of having Huge Blade convert swords into Greatswords. But we could go further.

A new blade that gives no stats but turns a weapon into a Katana, thus making someone choose between a weapon with more stats (a base katana) or applying the blade to their weapon of choice to make their choice work.

I realize this gets muddy for tomes, seeing as tomes have subtypes without weapon parts, but lets be frank: The tome subtypes are bad and shouldn't be there. They should be converted to weapons of other types and be given the Spell Edge tag (Looking at you, Casterfans, Rose whip and Manic Slasher)

I realize this only /really/ effects swords. But I believe it could lead to some potential fun down the line, as well as future proofing further classes and items. Because who doesn't want a Gigantys that counts as a whip, or a Crystal Blade Greatsword?

It would be /cool/.

v2.51 Ether Invitation not applying Cursed Wounds on kill
Posted by: Fern - 10-08-2021, 02:04 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

If you mark an enemy with Claret Call and then use Ether Invitation on them, if the attack kills them then you won't inflict any Cursed Wounds. However, if they live, they get Cursed Wounds.

  [v 2.51] Weakness Cancelling Fleur

Weakness Cancelling out Fleur's Momentum Gain
A bug report by Ruff Knight
_______________________________
As the title suggests, I've done some testing and I am fairly confident that is the bug that I've been dealing with in game. The jist of the problem is that when encountering an opponent with weakness to an element, if your basic attack itself is triggering that weakness, the momentum gain from fleur appears to be completely negated. What's more, is fleur is technically proc'ing. The fleur debuff status is applied to the enemies, with no actual gain to momentum from the critical hit itself aside from the standard +1.

How I discovered and tested this:

I first encountered the problem while fighting black beasts with a bow using fire arrows. What I noticed was that I would crit, but end up with only 5 momentum afterwards instead of the typical 6 that I'm used to seeing. When I tested critting with my sword (which does no fire damage), I emerged with the correct crit gain every single time. From there, I tested on more mobs.

Against mobs like ice giants and legumes, which have no fire res, I noticed that when my fleur procc'd with the bow, I did receive my correct momentum bonus.

I then tested if I would receive the same results by fighting other mobs with fire weakness. That being: goblins and gorgons. In both cases, if I crit with my bow with fire arrows, fleur would proc but I would not receive the momentum benefit. I was drained of my usual momentum gain. However if I crit with my sword (again, no weakness procs), I received my momentum gain from proc'ing fleur.

To Summarize:

Weakness does not cancel fleur, but it does seem to cancel momentum gain. I have only tested this with fire weakness procs with fire arrows, but given the extent of research I've done with that particular tool, that is the conclusion I have been able to draw. In theory, this could be tested further with a narcus or fire tome to be sure. I have not gone this far with my research, so I will make that known.

Edit: I have tested this with the Narcus. Same results.

OOC INFO

Public White Doors will have a laplaceNET BDP report styled announcement in the SL2 Discord from now on.

The blue doors are invisible and locked to most NPCs, but are possible to see and open by all Player Characters. You do not have to find one in-game, you can simply enter the event space OOCly located in Chaturanga and say you went through one. Please read the house's intro narration when you go in. This is where the upcoming Pandora's Quest Board will be ICly located.

You can RP inside with other players if you want to, even outside of events. Below, you can find a screenshot of the house location in question. Please keep in mind the building in Chaturanga is an OOC gateway to the House of Dreams. It is secluded, by the top left of Chaturanga.

v2.51 House Enter Quote not supporting line breaks for the new chat
Posted by: Fern - 10-06-2021, 09:18 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (6)

Exactly as the title says. If you add line breaks to a House Enter Quote, they won't show up in the new chat, but they will in the All tab (old chat).

  Sayasnooza (Sayakensa changes)
Posted by: Cogster - 10-05-2021, 08:54 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (1)

The Sayakensa is a very interesting hand slot item for Kenseis both mechanically as well as thematically as it offers Kenseis the ability to convert all of their skill damage to the Dark Element rather than the typical Physical Slash if their Katana is cursed. The issue with this is the damage conversion has far more negatives than any redeemable positives.

The hand's slot is a very competitive position for items, especially for Kenseis as a lot of items that can be slotted here offer a plethora of diverse benefits such as the Ghosthands providing safety from triggering enemy reaction effects and Crownbleeder's entire existence. The problem with the Sayakensa is that despite the increased crit chance (+10%), the lack of any dark penetration gimps the user horribly.

While I firmly believe that the game should be balanced towards PvP as it is theoretically the highest skill of play, the fact that the Sayakensa can't even benefit the user in PvE is horrendous. Using the Sayakensa cripples the user direly when fighting any Undead mob (Who has an innate resistance to Dark damage), and to my knowledge, there isn't a single enemy in this game who is naturally weak to darkness.

My suggestions for the item would be as follows:

  • Add a passive -10% to -15% dark element reduction to enemy resistances for skills only (kind of like how Idol functions. But this way it prevents Hexers or dark magic users trying to circumvent and abuse the item.)

    OR

  • Change the item from a Hand item to an Accessory, whilst reducing the dark element resistances it reduces to be between -5% to -10% and reducing the increased crit % chance the item provides as well (something, like 5%).

Give Ghosts a passive that gives them something for having wounds.
