  [v2.36] Tali Trouble
Posted by: Autumn - 12-14-2020, 09:47 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

When you are targeting a line based skill with a tali deployed out on the field, it can be a little jank at times, you would suspect that when you aim Left with a line based skill such as holy arrow or fir that it would also turn the skill to face that direction as if you were casting it yourself, but it does not.

I would like for talis to be able to aim off to the side I am pointing at instead of up at a different angle, pictured is what I mean:

As you can see here, my tali is far ahead of me, given that my character cannot possible turn left when I aim left it instead aims my line shot upwards instead of to the side at my intended target, this can make some funky angles that give talis many exploitable blindspots currently and actually impacts their interactivity heavily.

To replicate this issue:

1) Equip a line based skill such as Fir
2) Use the appropriate Tali skill at some distance ahead of you (preferably not 1 range)
3) Try aiming the line based skill in all 4 directions.
4) Use the skill to see result.

  [v2.36] Holy Arrow Tali
Posted by: Autumn - 12-14-2020, 09:38 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

When you are using Holy Arrow while "Deploy Tali: Light" is out on the field, it will target a line in front of the tali as if working normally, however the Holy Arrow will still shoot from the original caster's body as if casting normally.

To replicate:

1) Use Deploy Tali: Light somewhere
2) Target with holy arrow
3) Cast it for a different result.

  Amelia D'Arc - Pseudo-Elemental Partial-Summon, Increased Healing
Posted by: Sarah54321 - 12-13-2020, 02:29 PM - Forum: Approved Characters - Replies (3)

Applicable BYOND Key - AgentLilac
Character Name - Amelia D'Arc
Request Type - Special Character Ability (Pseudo-Elemental Partial-Summon, Increased Healing)
Request Details - The main intention behind the request I'm putting in is to make Amelia, my Priestess that I've had for a couple years now, have the ability to summon [arts pseudo-elementals themselves, and for a higher healing power.

Amelia is a devoted Mercalan Priestess, though she's not blinded from the fact that even Gods can make mistakes. She empathizes with the White Lady, believes that while She can do wrong, She makes up for her mistakes by giving Humanity the ability of choice. She's a decade or so past a hundred years of age, Amelia is.

Pseudo-Elemental Request Details:

-Ability to summon a Part of a Pseudo-elemental's spirit, basically conjuring a mere fragment of the entire powerful being. As long as she has Focus to keep it afloat, it will stay with her.

-Ability to channel her own Focus through the spirit in order to bring out larger effects. Most of the time, this will be Phoenix, an attempt to heal even larger injuries.

-Moderate Resistance to Spiritual Possession, due to her constant work with spirits not even of the pseudo-elemental type, she has gained a strong enough willpower to better defend against even the stronger masses.

Increased Healing Details:

-Minor Regeneration Factor, as her elven legacy allows her to heal at an increased rate. For further explanation, she can heal small cuts in the matter of minutes. Large gashes would take a few hours or a day or so. Fractured bones take a few days, and broken bones take a couple of weeks instead of months.

-Regeneration of Minor Limbs and Appendages, like fingers or toes.

-Regeneration of Larger Organs, so long as a majority of that organ is left behind. This requires the healer be available within the first ten to twenty minutes, however.

-Reattaching amputated limbs with a greater success, though the window of time is still short, about a minute or two. Also, the limb has to stay fresh, not rotten or too mutilated.

-Larger healing radius to those around her due to a combination of Phoenix and Mercana.

-Ability to clear scarring through the use of Mercana. However, it's unlikely she'll do this unless given a good reason to do so.

-Greater healing and treatment of Void Poisoning. Stage Two is still not able to be cured, however she would be able to prolong someone's life a few years, maybe five at best, as long as the person being treated does not use the Void again, or comes into contact with it. This also requires a couple visits a week in order to help keep it sticking to the person. The Combination of Phoenix and Mercana helps ease the pains of those afflicted.

Her connection to Mercala and the Pseudo-Elements is strong, but if this connection wavers or breaks, her powers will weaken. Along with this, though she might be able to summon fragments of a pseudo-element, she has to have the Focus to do so. Her pool of magic is large, but not limitless. Due to this, she tends to only summon these spirits in times of need or in order to teach.

This will have no mechanical benefit.

Reason why you are making this request (if applicable) -

This character is over two years old now, and I made her in order to help stimulate the community with the teachings of Mercana. While not as faithful as some, she's certainly not a zealot. Not a High Priestess, she still works with Mavis and sees her as a peer rather than someone who she should look up to and try to mimic. She wishes to be able to guide others to lead their own choices, but allow also the idea of 'Good' ring in their mind.

Being over a century old, due to her being a Half-Elf (Elf Mechanically in Game, as she took the traits of her Elven Father more than her Human Mother), she has studied and done her best to understand how everything she uses works.

The Pseudo-Elementals are not well implemented in terms of lore, as well. I would like to begin to get more information on them, and have a more creative use for them as well.

Roleplay & Lore supporting your request -

When Amelia was born, she was born to a humble noble family in Lordwain. They ran an orphanage and a school, which she attended. Though she had to share her parents with several other children, it was never something that bothered her. At a young age, she began to learn about Mercala- learn about magic. Her natural aptitude towards the Arcane Arts was something to be noted.

Her humble upbringing was likely the reason that she isn't a blind zealot. Though she loved Mercala, saw her as a Savior, she knew that people weren't perfect- and Gods were people. They might be Divine, but even Zera, even Mercala could make mistakes. Ryart, after all, was a man at one point, was he not? Because of this, her path diverged between the Pseudo-Elementals and Mercana.

Becoming a Lantern Bearer at the age of sixteen, she began to look into Spiritualism, the idea of communicating with those that are not of this world, or don't fundamentally belong. Everyone was a friend to her, and she hasn't ever seen someone that she hates. She was not a perfect person, however. She cannot claim to have a lack of sin.

She was jealous of those that had a stronger body than her. Those that were able to handle magic better than she. Even despite this, it only made her work harder. Through studies with other Priests and Priestesses, as well as other Mages, she's come to reach a breakthrough. Even with this, she will continue to work as hard as she can.

Notes -

As always, I am willing to negotiate and talk over what can or can't be done! I know it's been only ABOUT a month since my last Character application, but I've had this in the works for awhile ever since I was inspired by other applications. I just now got around to making it. Thanks for reading!

v.2.36 Forgrint not counting for Vent Petale stat bonus
Posted by: Fern - 12-13-2020, 08:19 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

Tome shifting Forgrint into a Spear while a Sword is main-handed does not grant the 5 SKI 5 DEF stat bonus from Vent Petale.

Tested with a main-hand Eresh (Sword) and an off-hand Forgrint (Tome shifted into Spear.)

Also going to note this was not an issue previously.

  Buff DULLAHAN!
Posted by: Shujin - 12-12-2020, 09:38 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - No Replies

Yes you read that right.
I do NOT mean however the playable race. I do mean the thingies that you can create with Armor Possession.
And while we are at it, lets also Buff the Flying Sword too.

Dullahan Currently:
-Vanish from Mercenary pool when they die. ALSO doesn't heal after each battle
-Need a Armor/Blck Soul and a relatively (semi)rare item
-Is level of the creator (I think. Or always 55?)
-In Combat have all the Dullahan passives/Innates...Thats it.
- Might have a special effect depending on the armor you use? I couldn't really test that, but the swords do that so I assume.

They get no Skills no nothing. Their stats are meh and their level low for late game dungeoning.

Dullahan Suggestion:
-Level Equal to Creator+Rarity of armor*2 (aka level 80 max...90 would not hurt them either as thats basically what normal monsters can acheive roughly when you are lucky with a dungeon.)
-Either give them some stats, since all he can do is basic attack while his Hit and damage is low, or at the very least make him tanky. He is equally tanky to the sword. OR give him a couple of skills maybe some of the BK tree to make him a proper tank.
-If this isn't happening already, give them the Armor used as effect like the swords. (It happens already but resets level of armor)
-Also maybe not make him vanish when they die or atleast heal, cause jesus they are useless.

Animated Swords Currently:
-Vanishes when dead, does not heal after battle like other monsters.
-Need Sword/black Soul and a semi rare item.
-Same level as Dullahan
-Actually use the sword they are made of, which is kinda cool if you use one they scale with.
-Have all the Animated Sword passives BUT the one that was added later (The sacrifice to buff someone part)

Animated Sword Suggestion:
-Make them not vanish after death or at the very least heal after every, they are not strong enough to justify the amount of micro managing they need.
-Level Formula  Character Level+ Rarity *2 (Or 3 even to justify their vanishing part.)
-Give them that one skill the other swords have, that would make them fun or a good combo with dullahans as mercenary.
-if you want to keep them destructible, higher stats would be desireable. but I rather just not have micromanaging.
-Also if you already make them use THAT weapon, make upgrades and such count as well, they currently reset.

Reasoning:
They are not worth the investment in the current form, but I would like them for style reasons. Its Just PvP, they won't suddenly be the top tier even with these changes.

Edit:
Okay Dullahan armor actually uses the armor too, which is neat. Buut I assumealso reseting levels.

Might aswell just make them creator level *1.5 or Creator level +20 or 30.

  The true kensei's way
Posted by: Autumn - 12-12-2020, 07:19 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (19)

When it comes down to Kensei the class is pretty balanced overall, but dodgy kenseis tend to fall behind the curb pretty often, they simply lack a bit of firepower when compared to other classes having special damage buffs such as claret call, checkmate etc.

This could be rectified in my opinion without buffing the tank variant of the class directly by giving them crit damage associated to a passive, whether as attached to Katana Master or to a new passive shouldn't matter much, but I do think the crit damage bonus should be around 15/20%.

[Karaten] Temporary Karaten Fort (Information for the time being)
Posted by: Aqua - 12-12-2020, 02:27 PM - Forum: Kysei - No Replies

Alright so! As it stands our Main fort (Like Arjav) is currently not mapped so we have to settle with a Temporary fort. Of course, no one knew where this was and to avoid people reporting Karaten's crimes to the Imperial Guard or the likes I'm making it public. To do this I've been working on the temp fort for the last few days, and now I'm ready to make it's location public to make reporting things to us easier. The Temporary Fort is nothing special but still undergoes the same rules as Fort Arjav.

Getting In touch with the Karaten guard is pretty easier, for the most part, just ping the guards in #pingme in the public discord and ask for the Karaten guards.

Directions to the Karaten Temp Fort: Head West of the Mage Guild to the West District and then Head North when you enter the west district. The fort is a player house so the door name will be Von Hargrave Grounds // Karaten Fort Temp. Once in the house, there will be a Portal on the right-hand side of your screen, head towards that and you'll be at the Temp Karaten Fort.

PLEASE NOTE: As the temp fort is a Player house, logging out will remove you from the fort itself. I ask you on behalf of the guard force there to please not abuse this knowledge as this is very likely against the rules to do so.

Solo Leveling? More like none (Class Board UI Thread)
Posted by: Ham - 12-11-2020, 01:38 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (17)

I like the new UI for the class board, it's good even if it needs getting used to. But, it has one problem
[Image: unknown.png]

I have no idea what my levels are.
I could just go to Stats and check from there, but what about the other classes? Most importantly the base ones.

If I could suggest: Adding the levels Somewhere in there, so we don't have to keep alternating between tabs like Stats and Class Board especially when it lags players with low end PCs like me. (And also it'd be alot more quality of life for a lazy ass like me)
Follow-up Suggestion: Resizing some of the text and icons down a wee bit so we can maybe fit in stuff at the side too like Skill FP cost or a Skill's Rank next to a skill's name.

v.2.35b Spawning inside roofs in Black Beast battle maps
Posted by: Fern - 12-09-2020, 05:16 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - No Replies

I think the image is pretty self-explanatory in that you can spawn inside buildings and get stuck if you don't have teleports. It's quite randomized, so the best I can tell you is that you can probably just go into Black Beast Tannis raids over and over until you get stuck if you want to replicate it.
