  New Traits Compilation & Suggestions
Posted by: K Peculier - 10-14-2018, 11:14 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (11)

This will be a thread to archive the heard traits from Dev just to organize the stuff. Things are subject to change anytime and what-not so don't follow this as a bible of confirmation.

When a new trait is added, the description and traits listed here will be updated accordingly (hopefully).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Racial Traits

Eyes of Elimination; Reduces your maximum HP by an additional 4%. Grants access to a special attack with a long cooldown, but only with martial weapons and daggers. During this attack, a line will appear on the screen. Successfully tracing the line (by dragging your mouse along it) will increase your critical rate with that attack based on the accuracy of your movement (if you mouse over something that isn't the line, it counts as 1 mistake. Bonus for successfully tracing over the line is +50 Critical, minus 10 per mistake.), as well as your critical damage by 25% if you complete the line properly. Cannot be used if Blinded. Melee range only. Lines generated when using a Dagger weapon are larger and easier to trace. - Human

Revolver Raid Cannon; Mech Type Trait (only 1 can be selected). Exclusive to Raid Mechanations. True Unarmed basic attacks are replaced with a Gun-type attack that has Range and a Rampaging effect. - Mech

Pseudoelemental Revive; Phenex only. Revive Trait (only one can be selected.) Increases the cost of Revive by 10 FP. Using Revive instead uses the Latern Bearer's Phoenix skill as it were maximum rank and grants you Eternal Flame LV X (X=Scaled SAN/8) for 5 rounds

Play Cute; Felidae only. Grants a special skill. Roll around on the ground in a cute manner, granting you a chance to Charm enemies within 5 Range. Any special effect tile on the tile you are standing on is also destroyed. If you have a Burn status, the rolling is less cute, losing its Charm chance, but reduces the duration of the Burn by 2 rounds.

Pack Alpha; Lupine only. Pack Trait (Only one can be selected) Improves HP and FP recovery post-battle for all pack follower party members, as long as there is not another Alpha in the party. Furthermore, Pack followers can benefit from you hunted statuses at 50% effectiveness (divided by the number of additional Alphas in the party.

Synthetic Hair; Mechs and Lich only. Highly durable synthetic hairs protect what it covers, giving you a +3 armor bonus.

Stomper; Leporidae only. Using rabbit leap while Rabbit Foot is active causes your landing to be more dramatic, dealing earth magic damage to all enemies within 2 range. However, rabbit leap will always end in your airborne status being removed if one is active.

Welcome Corruption; Corrupted races only. APT no longer increases SAN.

Intoxicating Fangs; Vampire fangs trait (only one can be gotten.) When you use Banquet on an enemy, you also have a chance to inflict Charm LV X (X = LV/2, min of 5) for 3 rounds.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'General' Traits

Guardian Spirit; Grants you 1 Youkai ally with a high initial friendship value; this ally can be summoned even if you aren't a Summoner, however the summon and maintenance costs are increased if you are not.

Arcane Tattoo (Barrier); Requires a race that has skin. Req Will 20. -1% max HP. At the start of each battle, consumes 5 FP and grants a barrier that reduces the first instance of damage taken by 50%.

Ninja Training; Unlocks the Shinobi talent tree, which has talents relating to Ninjas and Shuriken
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Feel free to post your thoughts or more stuff Dev has said. And if you're here Dev pls add ninja training first tbh.

Level Up! (But without any enthusiasm)
Posted by: WaifuApple - 10-10-2018, 11:17 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (20)

Okay, I've been playing this game a while now. I've experienced what it's like to try to level up, through the means available to us, and I want to say...

...look, it's not fun. Not everyone can be tower grinded (It's monotonous, but without it, believe me, the game would SUFFER a lot more than it is), and I'm afraid to say dungeoning is... so long and boring. It just feels like an obstacle in the way of potential new characters, and RP, when you start at level one, or LE, to prepare a character to go out into a PvP filled world. People attempt to make this faster, but cannot fix how boring it can be. There's no sense of achievement to it either. With no skills, at level 1, you'll find it hard to level alone, and when you're getting close, at the 40-50 mark, level gaining, even with a full party, is tedious.

This is why I've decided to put forth a suggestion that either:

A) Dungeons be more fun, and enemies less tedious to go against. This is probably not the best way to go, as it'll require a lot more effort on your part, to make dungeons less monotonous, which, believe me, I think could be a big challenge, to be honest. If I were actually able to enjoy the route to 60, I wouldn't hate doing it.

B) Allow us to gain a significant amount more EXP from dungeons / mobs, to make up for the tedious experience that is level grinding. This will make things much easier for us. Since there's still items to search for, too, which would be unaffected by a great exp boost, it's not like you'd just be handing someone 60 free levels, either, and BAM, they're PvP ready, as there'd always be incentive to go back into dungeons to hunt items. I figure this... might be easier to do than an overhaul of the dungeon system to make things more fun, and would allow people to be able to take part in your world without feeling as hindered by the wall that is the goal of level 60.

Please, for the sake of people's continued enjoyment of the game, consider this. I've been suffering a great lack of motivation to do anything with this game, solely because every time I do the problem I mention in this post is ever prevalent.

  Trait Rework
Posted by: Neus - 10-10-2018, 05:32 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (128)

First of all, sorry that this has taken so long (and will continue to be a little bit of time until it's completed). The new interface will be going live at the next reboot. My general plan for the trait rework is this;

1) I'm going to start releasing new traits in packs of 10 or so, every couple of days. You can still access the old traits at this time. As these are added you will be able to reset your traits at any time for free (mainly for testing purposes).
2) Once all the new traits are added, the old traits will be removed and your traits will be reset. You will no longer be able to reset your traits at any time at this point. This will also be the point where various system changes occur, such as Tactician's 7M becoming the default.

Thank you for your patience.

WASD Gives the shivers (WASD Indicator Bug)
Posted by: GameMaster85 - 10-09-2018, 10:42 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

Not much to say. In WASD mode, If you're in a party and your character is forced to face any interactable (like dungeon doors) then the indicator comes up but does not come off. This can cause a clutter of screen stuff and even weird things like scooping up the kitten.

Actually, in addition, I think if you scoop up the kitten in WASD mode the indicator stays on them (regardless of the above) and you can see their invisible body moving around.

I like and normally use WASD mode and this seems easy to fix for the next patch, so I decided to report it after so long.

Spook

  House LeFarz
Posted by: Ryuzaki - 10-08-2018, 07:24 PM - Forum: Factions - No Replies

House LeFarz:

House LeFarz is a moderately sized, wealthy house of Zerans originating from Redgate, Alstalsia.
Where house Echor made their fortune in the mining business, their distant familial ties in LeFarz came up in investment and security details. Performing everything from monster hunting, to smithing, crafting, tailoring and banking.

This noble house currently seems to be spreading their influence beyond their homeland, looking for ties in Kysei, Gold, Lordwain, and of course Sigrogana as means of spreading their influence, wealth, and power.

Usually, a member of the LeFarz family can be identified by their uniform's colors. Often formal, jet black and crimson. They even often go as far as painting their horns a decorative red, as observed by the house's youngest daughter, Sera. A color scheme which matches the uniforms of Rosa Cremisi Academi, an academy they are known to financially support in Alstalsia.

OOC:
If you'd be interested in playing a LeFarz, or tying your noble house to them in some way. Feel free to contact me here on the forums, or via Discord (Ryuzaki#8667) for more information.

(relation to Echor has been requested and approved as of the date of this post going live, by Slydria.)

  Demon Hunter Rework Suggestion/Discussion
Posted by: GameMaster85 - 10-08-2018, 03:32 AM - Forum: Suggestions - No Replies

Demon Hunter... is weird to me. It's an omni-subclass (that's used as a mainclass if your other class isn't important enough) that has two stances that entirely don't rely on statistics at all. It's one of the strongest auto-hit classes with one of the stances active. It has the most annoying stance which thankfully has a stat requirement.

But it's not Dante enough.

While devotion to the stances is an amazing thing and even better when it comes to being human. (I'm talking Human Destiny Soldier for max SP yeaaaah!) there are key problems with this notion that I'll explain, but Demon Hunter is lacking not in the power department, but in the variety and what it represents. While it's the class that seems to be able to handle a lot of situations when you look at it in one way, it really starts to lack when you spread things out. And due to how Hit/Dodge works, you either put everything or nothing on it. Even Destiny DHs have to skimp on the SP builds and while they have enough to actually go for all stances, there's a very key problem with this. Without further ado, let the bullet points begin.

#1 - Guns

... Offhanding a gun is probably the worst thing to ever do as a Demon Hunter and that sucks. While it has it's skills that used to be buggy, did a lot of cool stuff, exc, the Desperado stance is 100% needed with something like Magic Gunner to make good use of it. It needs SKL and LUK potentially due to hit/dodge woes, and it's essentially a dedication to the stance with only gun in hand. And while it can be used like a normal weapon, it sacrifices the two-hand ability which just doesn't make it worth anything at that point. It's like taking off one half of the handle bar from a bike. It's still drive able, and maybe you can wave to your friends, but it's a bad idea anyways.

An easy fix to this is to add to one of the passives as a mainclass benefit for an Momentum reduction to switching weapons in the item belt (as well as making it airborn compatible.) And this pretty much makes guns less of a crippling blow to a Demon Hunter. Sure, they need to put stats for Hit, but a sprinkle of SKL and they can use the range as a motivator for someone to move in (with no dodge) or as a way to deal more damage at odd angles where Reaver stance isn't as effective.

And for anyone who says it doesn't make guns effective enough, play some DMC3-4. Guns suck in the game too. But not to this point!

#2 - Style

Why are tacticians the one with a style gauge? Most people use DH for the express purpose of an all encompassing physical defense. With a huge HP bonus from soldier, and being able to autohit with any weapon cause why not, the class turns away from the dante style. So in lieu with how tacticians work, how about we nerf everything slightly, but buff them depending on how high the gauge goes.

The gauge wouldn't work like tactician, but to keep how omni the class is and make it more offensive and constant aggression like Dante and even Kinu, (are they related somehow?) make it a gauge that goes down in every start of your turn, and even more rapidly after it hits higher thresholds, but make it go up for accumulated damage with diminished returns. If you used a skill used from your last turn, it slightly diminishes with style effectiveness with more concurrent uses.

And last but not least, give them a utility skill called "Taunt" that takes all Momentum to use, but increases the gauge akin to a good hit, (but with the diminished uses per turn. No taunting repeatedly!) but most importantly, it would prevent the gauge from lowering on the start of your turn. Maybe add a resource-gain to it, or resource-spent-reduction buff. Maybe make it more effective if used with more then 3M. (but still takes all M)

#3 - Grace

Remember this baby?

We have a form of this baby from DMC in the game. Sounds like a shoe-off, but why don't we include skills gained from weapons in Reaper's lowering-of-momentum shenanigans? (including the damage reduction) Would it break the game? Probably. Would it make you feel like Dante? IGN says yes, of course.

Foreward

Look, if we're going to have a direct reference to Dante and his games in various forms, we gotta do it right. I don't think it's right. But I could also be dumb. I dunno what I'm saying, really. But man, I like this class, but it doesn't really make me feel like [strike]batman[/strike] dante at this moment. But I dunno, what do you think? I'm not exactly the best in knowledge of this game and it's vital organs of a balance, but I got nothing else to say! What about you?

Kirosh seems to not ignore certain tile effects like it seems to supposed to, I'll list them off as I am not certain which ones are and are not bugs:

When it comes to Ice Tiles (I believe both enemy and allied even), You will not break ice sheets while moving, but it will still act as if your move has been halted by ice. (stopping about halfway through your journey.)

When it comes to Dark Water tiles, you will not ignore the faith reduction.

When it comes to Enemy Sanctuary tiles, you will not ignore the STR and WIL reduction.

When it comes to Air Shafts, you will not ignore gaining the airborne status.

  Wikipedia invaded again! (Cmon really?)
Posted by: Skullcatrons - 10-06-2018, 04:09 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

Throughout the years, The game wiki was given relative peace. There were hardly any intruders that edited, and changed wordings around in stupid fashion, and being immature. It was often made with fruitful contributions, and honest changes. Changes that help educate new players, and veterans. Returning, and anews. Now. That ended few months aback. There, we were faced with new challenges. Not by grammar. Not by spelling. Not by weird understanding of Fandom Wiki's special feature.

But by the malicious players.

For countless days, we've been unable to keep them at bay. With great to our dismay. We can un-edit their work, but we cannot stop them from repeating. They constantly harass the wiki. Changing wordings around, and being complete pain in the arse. With Devourer of Souls only one capable of punishing the wrongdoers. We, the wiki contributors, are simply powerless to handle the troublemakers. The game GMs, Slydria, Dystopia, Chaos Meme Dragon. These three do not have the power of authority over the wiki itself either.

Here, posted in this screenshots are recent "attack" on wiki.

And even a COMPLETE Wiki edit changes.

Simply put. With no way to prevent this. I must implore. Lock Wiki to account edits-only, or attribute people to becoming Wiki admins. This kind of nonsense shouldn't continue any longer with constant invasion.

We're simply men, and women without weapons to protect ourselves. So give us one. One way, or another.

  Heavy Bow Mastery?

Heavy Bow Mastery from Arbalest seems to be having 0 effect on power with a 20 weight bow weapon, as reported to me by 'XanderCrescent' over the game's OOC, even when pushing the weight to 22, it had 0 effect.
