  ''Flash Stepping'' Back In Effect
Posted by: Kameron8 - 01-04-2017, 01:57 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (7)

As of patch 1.72, the server experiences issues with choppy frames and flash stepping. The issue remains after the reboot, or at least, it gets bad enough quick enough that it doesn't appear to help it much.

Holy Penalty + Functional Casting Tool
Posted by: Kameron8 - 01-04-2017, 01:08 AM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (9)

Holy enchants do a very good job of keeping Vampires and Spirit Users on their toes, but an odd situation as arisen where the two in question only have to worry about basic attack (crit) builds. Additionally, many people permanently utilize holy weaponry just on the off chance they're facing someone susceptible to it. Both of these seem like an issue to me -- Holy weapons should be devastating to the people weak to it, but the entire population shouldn't be constantly kitted out to survive the next Resident Evil movie.

I suggest that, if the target is Undead/Possessed, casting implements like tomes boost the damage of spells used through them by the Holy modifier, and skills that use the weapon in the damage formula do the same. Furthermore, the damage of Holy weapons -- as well as the skills/spells that use them -- should be reduced to 70% of normal against non-susceptible foes.

This encourages possessed and Vampires alike to keep their business to themselves -- which very few people try to do, annoyingly -- and allows magically inclined individuals the opportunity to punish those that don't. This also means people who focus on skills, and not basic attacks, can do the same. Given that Holy weapons will more often than not slow people down in this scenario, it also trims down on the "sure, just put holy on it in case I accidentally hit a Vampire" mentality.

The last benefit to this is less significant, but still worth mentioning. With the ability to deal extra damage with spells and skills, many people would have a much easier time fighting Undead in the Crypts and Castles. And while I'm sure several people are unnerved at the thought of Charged Mind spells getting multiplied by Holy, consider that it is no different than putting the enchant on an Excel weapon, or using it with Ether Invitation.

  Thousand Pokes

Soldier's Thousand Stab has always been mediocre and unused, especially in comparison to other soldier skills. Could we possible up it's weapon attack scaling to 95% at rank 5?

  Damage Resistance vs Damage Resistance
Posted by: Autumn - 01-03-2017, 07:51 AM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (8)

Damage Resistance refers to your Physical/Magical DR given by DEF/RES and associated skills when applicable. (DEF/RES/Stand Off/Golden Glow/Weir Konnen)

Damage Resistance also refers to your Physical/Magical/Overall DR given to you by various sources such as Ogata Waraji/Nullstone Gauntlet/Turtle Shell, Weathered Body/1v1/Bulwark/Voidveil/Evasion/Wraithguard/Margin Manipulation/Indomitable

These resistances do not stack, but sometimes people think they do which leads to confusion, can we have one of these terms changed to something like 'Damage Protection' to cause less confusion in the future?

  Same item, not stacking.

[Image: dqsz27] As this image shows (Provided I HTML correctly and it's not being weird), I somehow seem to have had two stacks of beast fangs, at different values. Not sure if this is because it might of been two different items entirely or if this is a bug.

Edit: Img format didn't work so here's just the image link, http://prntscr.com/dqsz27

Sarashi Gi Evade Bonus Not Working
Posted by: Sawrock - 01-02-2017, 10:24 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (4)

The bonus +12 for evasion is likely not working for Sarashi Gi; however, the bonus +12 for critical is. This was tested by having two of the same weapon (Bear Claws) with the same material (Galdric) equipped at once with a Sarashi Gi (Breezecloth) equipped, and then switching over to a Cloak of Many Colors (Rubber); while the Sarashi Gi has 23 modified evade (not including its ability), the Cloak of Many Colors has 20 modified evade, and it indeed did show a difference of 3 evade in the evade section of my player stats. It should've instead have been 15 difference due to the +12 evade from Sarashi Gi's effect.

Edit: After testing it in battle, it merely appears to be a display bug in the stat screen.

  TRO's Boxer suggestions
Posted by: Haunted Evil Pajamas - 01-02-2017, 06:53 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (5)

I am writing this without consent of other peoples ideas for the following topic, if someone else suggested one of my ideas first, then I support it, this is merely a collection of my ideas I came up with myself, I'll certainly read other threads later.

There are many complaints about Boxer being OP and all of that, and honestly I agree, however I feel like nerfing damage alone or changing one large thing wont help, so here are my suggestions, keep in mind if ALL of my ideas are put in, Boxer will most likely be pretty weak, I'm simply giving options since I do have some experience in game design and balance and wish to help, I'm not asking for praise, just acknowledgement that this has been viewed.

1. Geist Schritt, might as well get this one out of the way first, as it's the #1 most unique ability in Boxers arsenal, along with Schwarz Sturm. People say to make it evasion based perhaps, however the main focus of it is to predict your opponent, and I wish to keep it that way, however, I feel like it gives too much of a reward for succeeding in the predict and not enough punishment for failing. When boxer was first released, if you took a direct attack that was not an attack you predicted with Geist Schritt, you lost the buff and you could get hit with anything without being canceled, I feel like this was a good way to punish those who made an incorrect choice with the wrong dash skill, however it was removed, if I'm crazy and it was never a thing in the first place, then I encourage that it be a mechanic. Another thing is the reward for succeeding is too high in my point of view, it negates an attack entirely, moves you into close combat range, gives you more of your Schwarz Sturm, AND refunds your momentum, I think removing the momentum refund is a fair change, as it already rewards you with positioning, more damage/skill options, and you negated a potentially powerful attack. If only one thing was to be changed I hope it is this.

2. Asura Fist....it does too much damage, and it gives you 2 of your Schwarz Sturm if you hit, 1 if you miss, it also has range, I understand it is dark damage and many people resist darkness, but even with 30% resist from voidwalkers, most boxers will still do ridiculous amounts of damage with it, the only major weakness it has is that it is a spell, and thus it can be silenced or stolen, while that is nice, but that's a pretty situational defense than not many character are able to do.

3. Damage in general, Boxer has incredibly high scaling on most of its attacks, while they have high FP cost, this is countered by a subclass that has ways to recover FP, or perhaps an alchemist with blue potions (you know you can recover 90 FP a turn with the talent and 2 blue potions, it's pretty nice). I feel like it should work like this, Boxers focus on making the right choices, being in the clinch with your opponent, and dealing high damage, this is also a factor thanks to the martial artists "Combination Strike" skill and the main class boxer skill "On the Ropes." My suggestion is to nerf the general scaling of all of Boxer's skills (including the ones that have already been nerfed, but not as much), however increase the damage you gain from raising your Schwarz Sturm, this will encourage boxers to keep their combo going instead of just shooting out Asura fists for maximum DPS essentially until Grandupper is ready for the killing blow.

4. Nachbeben, honestly I don't know why this skill exists, Boxer has 3 AoE skills and they are pretty good, especially Orkam Drehen, and Nachbeben activates from those AoE skills, so you can AoE while you AoE, I understand the damage got nerfed, but it seems like an unnecessary skill that would belong in something like a spellsword class...

5. Orkam Drehen, It has too much range at higher combo levels and pulls more than forced move...and is an AoE damaging skill...I honestly dont think I need to say any more, I recommend nerfing at least one of those traits.

6. Weir Konnen, this is another skill where I don't fully understand why it exists in Boxer, I don't hate the skill, and it encourages Boxers to put points in WIL to give them FP to fuel their high cost skills, but I feel like it could've done something else other than boost your physical reduction, most Boxers build their WIL to be about 40, so they gain a 10% physical reduction, this is alright for me, if Martial artist didnt have a main class skill that gave 10% reduction if you're unarmored, and with armor mutation a thing, the options are plenty for Boxers to be very high damage tanks.

7. Scharf, this is actually a buff I'm requesting, Scarf is a useless skill, it buffs your hit and critical depending on your Schwarz Sturm, however you lose your Schwarz Sturm when you throw a basic attack, so you work for a couple rounds to gain the ability to throw one moderately boosted basic attack when that Schwarz Sturm will easily be used on Grandupper or something else, I personally think if it was designed like that, it should boost damage as well, this could encourage Boxers to have a fancy killing blow strategy to perhaps throw other boxers off guard or something of the like.

Thank you so much for reading this, if you have complaints, keep in mind its just my ideas, you are free to complain to me, but it wont matter in the long run most likely unless you wish to have you're own input, or yell at me for not reading your post that has a similar idea.

Have a nice day!~

I had deleted my character on my account's Slot2 earlier to replace it with another. Apparently when I examined my new character (I'm still in the tutorial area without having touched anything so far.) My old character's description is still there on it as you see here:

  Boxer: The second encounter
Posted by: Autumn - 01-02-2017, 05:31 AM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (12)

There's still a few things to address about Boxer since the last update.

Cobra was given an evade check a while ago, I think the community saw this as a good thing as a whole, mostly because Cobra negates your attacks and forces people to spend momentum getting around you to avoid it, can we possibly see the very same thing added to Geist Schritt?

The reason I'm using Cobra as an example is because before Geist Schritt, Cobra was essentially the only skill that'd let you 'avoid' autohits and basic attacks entirely, then that got nerfed and was linked to evade, which made evade a bit more versatile that day.

Problem with Geist Schritt however is that it works from all sides, and not just 1, and Geist Schritt encourages building tanky, because even if someone gets past Geist Schritt they have to deal with your tanky ass, there's a good chance that you just won't die.

So I have a couple suggestions that'd help Geist Schritt's problems, both the good and bad.

For one, I really do think that Geist Schritt (Eins and Zwei), as a dodge should, use an evade check.

Secondly I think it should double the effects of Wind Weave while it's in effect, to further feel like you're expecting someone's attack and trying to avoid it.

And lastly, I think Wind Weave should also be buffed slightly, its sort of unrelated but it doesn't provide that significant of a dodge buff, its like 16 at max sturm and generally you wanna unleash your finisher by then, so perhaps it could be raised to Sturm Level*4 instead of *2.

Geist Schritt (Drei) would be good enough for the boxers who wish to remain tanky I think, as it'd still provide them a gap closer, sturm generation and the such.

My last notes is that I think that Boxer should be a great late game combatant, but Geist Schritt provides it movement and damage negation to get past the early game, while also providing sturm generation.
