  Trait: Ambidexterity-Enabled
Posted by: Ranylyn - 03-01-2016, 06:42 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (1)

Real talk: This idea is actually kinda dumb, and I fully expect it to be rejected. But it's been eating away at me so I figured, "May as well get it off my chest." Please don't hold it against me. I fully admit this is unlikely to go over well.

Ambidexterity currently lets you change between viable weapon types for a skill. This is nice and fair. It, for example, will not allow an MG/Duelist to Overcharge Sidecut with a Shotgun. But it WILL allow an Arbalest/BK to use hanging without missing due to close range bow hit penalties.

My proposal is to allow something ever so slightly more akin to martial lawbreaker for some very specific skills, with the caveat that you need to hold a valid weapon type first, to prevent rampant abuse. The skills this would apply to are only those that deal your weapon's damage type and perform a normal attack, for the sake of not being walled out by resistances. EDIT: Also, would not work with bows/guns for obvious reasons. (Also for roleplay purposes, due to damage types and renamed weapons, etc)

Example: A Ghost is equipped with an Ensui (mostly for damage reduction purposes because Ghost) and a Galdric Axe (for fitting form/berserker shell crit shenanigans.) Said ghost encounters a bunch of Goblins. Sidecut would heal the goblins. But why can't you just do the same motion with... well... let's be honest, almost any weapon can theoretically attack while passing by. Since it already has a sword, Sidecut will not be greyed out.

What got me thinking about this?

1) Bugs. Like when Sidecut and Geldoren used to use your main weapon even if it was invalid.
2) Builds. I still want tomes to be viable. A mage-like duelist, for example, could be really neat. (And I've tried mutating tomes, it just doesn't cut it)
3) Logic. I still don't understand, for example, why one cannot sidecut with a dagger, etc.

Anyways. Make fun of the idea all you want. I just needed to get it off my chest.

A regular day in the Sigrogana Empire's Guardship
Posted by: Chaos - 03-01-2016, 04:07 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

(Note: Everything presented here is non-canon. Also, this is probably unoriginal, but we're crossing plenty of lines here to begin with.)

A daring and brave reporter sought to acquire first-hand information on the daily operations of Sigrogana's protectors. Using illogical magic that can only be summed up as 'a fucking wizard did it', she managed to 'record' a regular, dull day's haappenings within Fort Arjav.

....No, we're not sure how she managed to get out to share her findings, much less survive what she bore witness to.

IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE:
-Random NPC Guard
-The Ginger Scholar
-Quiet Armored Man
-Leather-Clad Lady
-Guard Commander
-Emperor of Sigrogana
(The figure on the 'porn' is made in the image of a random PC lesbian)
(the voice at the end is provided by the Prison Guard who mans the front desk)

Due to personal reasons I'd rather not elaborate on here, I've decided to take a long break from SL2 and GMing. I don't know how long I'll be gone but I'm hoping when I come back I'll be refreshed, have things sorted out and be ready to do a better job.

I know this will leave things a bit understaffed and I've already let Dev know about this, so please be good while I'm gone. I know people can be difficult to deal with keep in mind, we're all people behind the computer screen, that includes the people you don't like and really... we're all just trying to have a good time, right?

Goodbye for now.

  Another status infliction topic.
Posted by: Ranylyn - 02-27-2016, 09:12 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (2)

This is a post to get ideas rolling. Please be constructive with feedback. I think this is too broad a subject to be allowed to be based on my opinion alone, anyways.

Post sparked by http://www.neus-projects.net/viewtopic.p...amp;t=2473

Let me share a little story. A story about attempting to make a purely pacifist character. And a story about Calm seeing numbers like 9 infiction vs 2 resistance at low levels. Yes. 7% status infliction at low levels. I shouldn't need to explain why this is downright dumb; a level 1 vs a level 1 should have similar odds as a level 20 vs a level 20 or a level 60 vs a level 60. This affects any number of characters, ranging from Wyverntouched to Doriads to Liches to Curates to Archers. And many more, post-LE.

My idea: A change to the current formulas. It currently stands as 3 stats vs 2. My proposal is 2 stats vs 2 with a "baseline" chance.

Current Formula: 1/2 will + skill + luck vs Res + Luck

My basic, to be built upon idea: 30 + will/2 + 3/4 skill vs Res + Luck

"BUT WAIT! That effectively gives the inflictor 30 luck under the current formula! That's not fair! Getting 30 luck is insane!

Correct. I DID say this was a basic idea to build on, so low levels can actually inflict ailments ever. I'm simply not done coming up with tweaks to make up for this yet. It just makes zero logical sense for low levels to be so unable to inflict ailments against other low levels, while level 60s apply them like they're tossing fistfuls of candy to distract children.

Anyways, any ideas on how to fine tune this idea to be more in-line with level 60 status infliction chances are welcome.

  Exchanging curses with yourself.
Posted by: Autumn - 02-27-2016, 01:50 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

When you're equipped with a shock collar or anything that can self inflict damage, you can potentially keep curses on a character for indefinitely throughout a fight, until an enemy takes the curse from you.

For example:

Hexer with shock collar casts 2 curses on themselves
Player waits out curses
Hexer won't lose curses cause Shock Collar keeps renewing the duration until it is taken.

  Unban Request
Posted by: Four of Hearts - 02-27-2016, 04:38 AM - Forum: Unban Requests - Replies (5)

Game you were banned from: Sigrogana Legend 2
In-game name (key): Blade of Hearts
Reason you were banned: Cybering
The length of the ban, if you know: Unknown
Who banned you, if you know: Slydria
Why we should unban you: I am not appealing for an unban. I am appealing for a sentence reduction, because I know that I don't deserve to be unbanned because of the idiocy of my actions. I understand that SL2 isn't the place to cyber, but I decided to do it anyway, which is only more proof of my ignorance. In fact, I should commend you for how quickly you took action against my violation of the rules. My getting banned was entirely my own fault, as I could have stopped at any time of my own free will and there is no excuse for my behavior. I swear that if you reduce my sentence (or if you don't), I will abide by all of the rules to the best of my abilities, never repeat my mistakes, and play fair for the remainder of the time that I play SL2. It's an amazing game and I shouldn't have even considered risking the prolonged usage of it. I only hope that you can find it in your hearts to forgive my transgressions and allow me to continue to play Sigrogana Legend 2, because I'm sorry for what I've done and I love this game. No matter how long I have to wait, I'm looking forward to returning to the game, with or without a reduction. I understand that third chances don't exist.

**P.S. The link to the unban forum from the game doesn't seem to be working. I can't confirm whether or not it's my computer or the link that's not working properly. Also, if you decide against reducing the sentence, can you please tell me how long the ban is so that I know when I can return? Thank you in advance.

  Curate skill: Calm
Posted by: Autumn - 02-26-2016, 02:25 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (10)

As it stands, Calm itself hardly even stands as even being worth it as a skill to spend points into, let alone it being a main class skill at that, I'd like to buff this skill just a little bit with 2 suggestions:

1. Calm is no longer main class only skill, it hardly constitutes as being overbearing in any way, I don't see why it has to be main class.

2. You can now select an ally(not yourself) and cure their Fear and Hesitation status(hesitation level rank*3 max)

Any thoughts?

  Greenscale: FP Bendy Straw
Posted by: Kameron8 - 02-25-2016, 07:48 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (10)

Greenscale is pretty terrible for people without evasion, because very few people will try and attack normally when they can see that their hit is abysmally low. However, when used in conjunction with Evasion, it removes an overbearing amount of Focus. The best case scenario for the attacker is an autohit that deals one instance of damage, and even then, you're probably at least doubling the cost of the skill to use. When looking at things like rapid kick, mad chop, and elemental rave, you can lose hundreds of FP for one attack. I suggest nerfing the FP drain on the evasion-triggered 'dodges' to UL/3, down to 6 FP drain.

The counterargument to this is, of course, that using autohitting attacks on a dodgey individual with a tunic should kill them quickly. However, with the DR from evasion, the wide variety of mass resist/reduction, and healing that allows you to easily wait out the damage (Meditate, Repair, Graft, Aid), you are almost guaranteed to live longer than the enemy's focus.

Safety first, guise! [Magic Gunner Bug?]
Posted by: Snake - 02-24-2016, 03:43 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (5)

The Magic Gunner toggleable skill 'Safety' is currently blocking the 'Shell' along with 'Bonus' (Charged Shot) and 'High' (Overcharge). Shouldn't block 'Shell' as the skill says it only blocks 'Bonus' and 'High'

Snakescale and Ether. Its just iron, but a little better?
Posted by: Akame - 02-24-2016, 03:14 AM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (8)

Currently, snakescale and ether on torso items only give +3 HP, and +3 FP respectively, which only make them slightly better than iron.
How about a bit more use instead of it just being breakdown material?

I think this needs a buff. What about +15 max HP on a snakescale torso, and +15 max FP on an ether torso?

Thoughts?
